    Home Front Home Services
This was my fifth time working with Home Front to rehab one of my properties. The quality of their work is excellent and they get the job done quickly and efficiently. The owner, Michael, is a pleasure to work with and helpful with recommendations and advice on areas where a homeowner or investor may need some guidance. I will definitely be calling them for my next project.

Justin and Jamie in the office were great and did everything I had ask for. I absolutely love my kitchen renovation it is beautiful. The installers Roman and David were incredible, they worked so hard and were so professional. I enjoyed having them in my home and they actually got the work done faster than was originally estimated. I will always ask for these guys to do any install work I am needing. Wonderful experience would recommend Home Front Home Services.

    Genesis Painting and Custom Remodeling
Everything went very well. The crew was on-time every day and cleaned up before they left in the evening. We had scope creep on the job and Moses did not balk at the additional work. His crew did the additional work and completed the job under the original timeframe. We had them refinish our bathroom cabinets and paint the walls, baseboards and doors. Also we had the popcorn ceiling removed.

    ATD Painting
When the job started the supervisor came by everyday in the morning and afternoons to check progress. They even texted us pictures while we were out of town. Once the job was done, we asked for a few touch ups and they handled them without hesitation. These guys did very high quality work, we were very impressed. The owner even came by at the end of the job to inspect the final product and make sure we were content.

    Craftsman Connection LLC
It was an amazing experience overall. Carl showed up when he said he would and never tried to make excuses for things that weren't exactly right. He will NOT accept that his work (or that of his crew) are less than ideal. He has very high standards for the quality of work that he promises and he is one of the few contractors that I've know that delivers 100% on that guarantee. He worked directly with my insurance company getting them the initial estimate for repairs and was able to save money for me with his expert stone-repair guy by not cracking or breaking my granite countertop when it had to be removed for the cabinet repair. That helped the estimate for that line item go from over $4,000 to around $1,600. He knew I really liked my countertop and preferred to save it if possible, and he did his best to do that. Additionally, I was unsure of the pattern of my backsplash and REALLY wanted the same pattern. He was able to quickly source it from his supplier exactly like the one I wanted. Since that time, Carl has been hired to complete additional project work, including an amazing fireplace feature wall, patio covered walkway repair and improvement, window replacement, interior painting, full exterior house painting and more. Everything he has completed has been with his high standards of work quality and detail. I feel strongly that his prices are very fair for the quality of work you receive. If you're lucky to get on his schedule for a project, you won't regret it.

Gleam Guard Cabinet Refinishing of Dallas
Daniel's craftsmanship and attention to detail are amazing. He fixed several areas that had suffered from wear and tear, making them look brand new. I will definitely recommend Daniel to anyone I know, and will re-hire him the next time something needs repair.

Excellent. Dallas Bollema was our primary coordinator and he was always available and ready to help provide guidance and suggestions every step of the way. Larry was one of the primary workers and he worked extra hard to make sure everything turned out just right. We are very pleased with the results. It looks like a totally brand new kitchen for a lot less money than normally required to get that look!

    Quality Touch-Up
Fantastic. Ken and Antonio are very easy to work with and their work is beyond excellent. The cabinets look brand new and I am very happy with the results. They may not be the fastest or cheapest, but their quality is the best. I would definitely recommend Quality Touch-Up.

    Quality Touch-Up
I found Quality Touch-Up on Angie's List.  I was purposefully seeking a company with not that many reviews.  In my experience the bigger companies are less personal and generally can be a pain to deal with and are often times overpriced. Ken (owner of company) was on time to our estimate appointment and gave me a thorough explanation of how every part of the job would go. I had met with a couple of competitors and felt that Ken was the best candidate. The price was very fair as well, so we agreed to proceed with the job. Ken had samples made for me right away to make sure we were on the same page before doing the job. The samples were shown to me very soon after accepted bid.  The job went smoothly with all work being completed on time and as promised. All of Ken's workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves nicely. (Keeping and leaving a clean work-space seems to be less and less common these days.) I would recommend using Quality Touch-Up when trying to keep costs down on investment houses or when trying to remodel your home. They make old cabinets look new, which is a great money saver vs buying new cabinets. This particular job was an investment flip house and due to the job being done well and hassle free I have since re-used this companies' services on other flips and would use on my own house should the need arise.

    White Lion Painting Co

After reviewing the top rated painting companies on Angie?s List, I contacted White Lion Painting Company (Mr. Antonio Hernandez), and John Bradford Painting in late May, 2015, to request estimates for painting my kitchen cabinets white, installing a glass insert in one of the smaller doors to convert it to a curio, installing new hardware on the doors and drawers that I would provide, painting the protruding wall around my fireplace red, and the Austin Stone fireplace white.  Because I never received a response from Mr. Bradford, I decided to go with White Lion who did respond to my request.

Mr. Hernandez provided me with an estimate for the painting of the cabinets via email on Sunday, June 7, 2015.  On June 9, 2015 I responded, requesting a written contract to cover all aspects of the work that we had discussed, and any written guarantees, time frames for work to be completed, when work could begin, etc.  After agreeing on the specifics of the job following a couple of visits to my home, it was also agreed that the work would begin on July 13, 2015. After insisting that Mr. Hernandez put the final agreement in contract form so that I wouldn?t be blindsided later, and not receiving it, I advised Mr. Hernandez that work could not begin until I received this itemized document.  It was provided on Sunday, July 12th, the day before the work was to begin. The initial quote was $3100 but additional amounts were added for the glass insert and painting the fireplace, bringing the total to $3350.00.  The initial quote for the glass insert was $120, but Mr. Hernandez advised later after our agreement was signed, that the company that was doing the job told him the price would increase by $25.00 because it was beveled glass. Beveled glass was what I had initially asked for.

Because I was off work for the summer and wanted to complete the kitchen job during this time, I found that communication with this contractor was very difficult. He would say that he had been out of town and out of email and cellphone range, and missed my call or our appointments. Several times he did not make appointments as promised, and the job took much longer than expected.  He also did not honor the Angie?s List member?s coupon for 10% off (up to $500), because he said he was not responsible for the coupon being on Angie?s List and was not even aware of it being on there.  He did agree, however, that he would give me a $100.00 discount since I was an Angie?s List member. I had him to write that on the agreement that we had signed and initial it. The price then dropped to $3250.  Even though the agreement said ?payment will be received upon completion of the job,? and the job had not been completed and had just started on July 13th, Mr. Hernandez contacted me the middle of July and asked if I could pay him at least $2500. I agreed and gave him a check (#7598 dated July 17, 2015), for $2800. I had no problem with this.

The red paint used to paint the fireplace was too light even though I had chosen a dark color from some sample cards that were presented to me.  I asked if he would darken the color and he agreed to do so.  Unfortunately, by the end of August the work still had not been completed.  After several inquiries about when the job would be done with no results, I finally hired someone else to finish the fireplace job and purchased the paint for it, because I had to return to work and couldn?t wait any longer.  Mr. Hernandez had initially told me that he would re-paint the fireplace for only the cost of the paint and quoted me a price of $40 for a gallon of paint.  The painter hired to complete the job, had paint mixed at Sherwin Williams to match a custom-made sofa pillow and provided the receipt for me.  The paint only cost $27.89 for the gallon.

On August 29, 2015 I forwarded Mr. Hernandez the balance of what I owed (check #7609 for $475.00), with a letter advising him of my disappointment in how this project had been handled.

Following my letter of disappointment, Mr. Hernandez sent me an email of apology for how things had transpired, left a bouquet of flowers and a piece of Mexican artwork at my front door because he did not want me to be upset with him.  I emailed him back and advised that the items would be left on the front where I found them, and asked that he come and retrieve them.  He did not and they were placed out front for someone who could use them.

The painters who completed the work were very professional, very prompt, and did an excellent job with the work that was completed.  Mr. Hernandez, in my opinion, did not handle his duties professionally nor in a timely manner. Because of a number of delays, poor communication in which I usually had to contact him to inquire about when work would be done, and missed appointments, I cannot in good conscience give his company a positive review and would not use this company again.
