  • She is an obgyn. She has great bedside manner. She has very friendly staff. They're very efficient. I've been using her for 10 years. I would give A for everything. She's very great to you as a patient. She's very precautious with a lot of different things.

  • It went great! I am really impressed with their professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness. The office is conveniently located (they have 4 locations), and the decor is charming and welcoming. Colleen, the office manager, greets patients with a smile and is very patient in explaining the insurance coverage and payment options. The nurse, Hannah, is very thorough, reassuring, and efficient. I was so impressed with Nurse Hannah and her helpful advice for avoiding and treating sinus allergies. Dr. Kandyil Foster holds an MD and PhD, and worked with me to form a plan of treatment. She also offered me some potential longer term solutions (allergy shots). I highly recommend Southwest Allergy and Asthma.

  • This is the second time in 5- years I have been to the Mid Cities Colon and Rectal Surgery center to see Dr. Cox. His nurses were very nice and I felt like they took good care of me. Dr. Cox is friendly, what else can one say... he did his job and I have no complaints. I don't think the office staff at Mid Cities Colon and Rectal Surgery center actually works for the Doctor but this location is where he does the colonoscopy I have found the front desk folks to be distant, not pleasant, and stressed; one just can watch them in the lobby and know don't ask them any questions.

  • First Choice is located in a strip center type of structure; and from the outside, appears to be similar to a CareNow or PrimaCare (walk-in/no app't necessary) type of business.  What is not clearly disclosed when you walk in and see a doctor is that First Choice is set up as an "emergency room" for treatment and insurance reimbursement purposes.  What this means is that First Choice has technically met the requirements for being reimbursed at the very high emergency room levels of payment from insurance companies.  There is a bona fide hospital and emergency room a very short distance from First Choice, and I can not imagine someone going to First Choice in lieu of the hospital emergency room near by if he/she had a true emergency, by the way.
In any event, we received a statement from First Choice showing that we owed them $800 for a 10 minute app't for a sinus infection and a prescription for an antibiotic.  I called to question the bill because I thought for sure it was an error and discovered their ability to get reimbursed/paid at these very high rates.
Many folks may not take notice of how they are being billed because "insurance covers it." We took notice immediately because thankfully we are a healthy family that typically does not exceed the deductible on our health plan every year.  This is an example of the types of things that are wrong with our health care system and why costs are so out of control.
I asked them to take into consideration the circumstances of the app't and adjust the bill which they immediately declined to do.(I could bet that this is not the first call like mine they have rec'd.)  The insurance company said there is nothing they could do  because per their contract with First Choice, they are to be paid at the higher rate.  So we were stuck with the $800 bill to pay.

  • Dr. Weber is apparently very popular as it took me over a month to schedule an appointment with him and an additional 2 weeks to actually schedule the endoscope procedure. I really appreciated the time he took he with me during the initial appointment and felt that all angles were covered during the actual procedure. He has great bedside manner and is easy to talk to, unlike some doctors that you unfortunately have to encounter throughout life. I will continue to see him for any future gastro issues. The only thing that I didn't understand, which has more to do with the headache of insurance, was the billing. I had to pay up front for the physician cost, anesthesia cost, and procedure cost - three separate transactions as well as an additional bill for biopsies/lab that came later. Oddly enough, I received additional billing that I was not expecting as I thought I had taken care of these items upfront - still trying to figure out what these additional invoices were.

  • He has a terrific bedside manner. He takes a lot of time to explain things to me. I never feel like I'm rushed during my visits. He's very thorough with his examinations. Instead of jumping to conclusions, he runs tests to make sure his diagnosis is correct.
