Countertop Installation reviews in Argyle

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Just about every area of my home needed something repaired or upgraded. Framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile work, shower glass, granite, lighting, resurfacing and painting, staining, and during a mid-project emergency, rebuilding the exterior chimney surround. From my initial consultation with Kyle, I knew he was the one to tackle the job. Great communication, attentive to what I was trying to accomplish within budget, offered great ideas and sources. Such an incredibly wonderful crew... knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and truly just really nice. Set the tone for the whole project. With weeks of work (it was a long list!), it could have been tense and stressful. It was the exact opposite. There were quite a few times when I noticed they went above and beyond the task, going outside the scope to make sure an area was perfect. Had I known what a positive experience it would be, I would not have put it off for so long. Highest recommendation.

  • The worker called ahead to let me know he was on his way.  When he arrived he was very polite and professional.  He assessed the work, and began immediately.  He explained what the job would entail, approximately how long it would take and how long we needed to allow it to dry before use.

He was very thorough in both the cleaning of the granite tops and slate floors, and very detailed with the sealing of both.  My counter tops look new, and my slate floor looks spectacular!   Also, I hadn't realized just how badly our tub surround needed recalking till I saw the finished work!  We're extremely pleased with all the results!

  • Dean's team did an exceptional job in everything they did.  They showed up punctually to prepare a quote.  Reviewed all the risks in detail and put together a complete quote in a timely manner. Communication was good between us and Dean.  He adhered to his final schedule and did an exceptional job keeping us in the loop during all aspects of the renovation.
We are very happy with the final outcome.  Friends have commented that this is the best kitchen renovation they have ever seen.  We agree whole heartedly.  We will use him again recommend him highly.

  • It was amazing! I have used them for several jobs at my house. The prices were much lower than anyone else and they helped me when I needed guidance on some of the detail decisions. The seams are virtually invisible, the fit is excellent, and they didn't cause any ancillary damage when they took out my old counter tops and windowsill which had been in place for 30 years. They were very polite, showed up on time, worked neatly, and cleaned up after themselves. The quality of their workmanship was excellent. Also they went to the trouble to search their database and warehouse for a small remnant I needed for a bar top.  They also worked around the rest of my construction schedule. I called and within a couple of days they were out making templates and a couple of days after that they were installing. They also installed corbels for me to support the counter top overhang which most companies won't do. Most companies make you do that yourself, make you find another contractor to install support, or don't even bother to tell you it's needed. KAT took care of it all.

  • We worked with Roberta, who acted as the project manager and provided design input. She met us at Dal-tile and helped us select a beautiful granite. She also arranged the initial measurement, templates and followed up to resolve some minor issues. The installation was completed on-time and the cost was the same as the initial estimate. We encountered some minor issues, but Roberta had them addressed very quickly to our complete satisfaction. I'd recommend Solidstone and especially Roberta to anyone looking for granite countertops. She was wonderful.
    A couple of pointers:
    1. If you need corbels to support counter overhangs, order them early and have them installed before the granite arrives and  2. Think about access to electrical outlets and arrange to have holes drilled in the coountertop to pass electrical cords through.

  • Roger came to my home to provide an estimate. He arrived promptly. He was professional, very pleasant, and easy to talk to. I showed him the work I needed to have done. He measured the rooms for flooring. He spent time talking with me about some other issues I had with my house and offered some good ideas. I don't think he completely understood my vision for a change in the layout of the shower in the master bath but I would have revisited that topic with him prior to hiring him. I was concerned about a possible cat "accident" ruining new floors and Roger had a great idea to have the planks stained and sealed on site. This would help prevent moisture from getting in between the planks. Roger provided an estimate with moderate details. His estimate was about what I expected and in line with my budget. He called to follow up with me on the estimate. I wasn't home at the time and he left a message. I always appreciate it when a service provider checks back. It makes me feel like they want my business. I give him an A+ for doing that. I liked Roger. A minor health issue come up in my family and I decided to table the project for the time being.

  • Brad and his associate came to my home to provide an estimate. I needed to have approximately 2000 square feet of hardwood floors, carpet, and tile installed throughout my home. My master bath shower needed to be completely rebuilt and new bathroom faucets needed to be installed.  We also discussed granite countertops for the kitchen and bathroom. The initial meeting went very well. They had some great ideas for what I needed to have done and they understood the changes I wanted made to the master bath. They were professional and arrived on time. They seemed very knowledgeable and I was confident that they would provide high quality workmanship. They were pleasant and easy to work with. About a week later they presented me with an estimate that was quite detailed. Unfortunately, the estimate was much higher than I thought it would be. I had an estimate done around the same time by another party and their estimate for the same type of  hardwood flooring was about half of what Prestige quoted. Had it not been for the estimate being 10K or so over my budget, I would have hired them for the job. I appreciate the time and effort they put into their estimate.

  • We are "DIY"  types and this kitchen remodel was one part of a bigger project updating the entire ground-level of our home.  This is worth mentioning because the effort was (is) a combination of weekend/evening projects and, where contractors are involved,  there's "input"  to many aspects of the their job.  In other words, a working relationship that could stretch the patience of some contractors.  Not so with Steve and his crew ... we can summarize the Artisan Granite experience as absolutely "no problems"!  From the start,  getting together for an initial estimate required a weekend appointment that Steve readily accommodated.  He assessed the work to be done, taking time to describe potential challenges in removing old porcelain tile countertop and decking.  Our offer to complete the tear-out for some savings was A-OK with him ... however,  later recognizing his crew would do it easier and faster was "no problem".  We wanted the countertop demo / templating / installation to closely coordinate with our painting contractor for minimum kitchen downtime and Steve's response  was ... "no problem".   Templating for a not yet delivered slide-in range, Steve helped work through the interpretation of manufacture's specs and, based on his experience, avoided a cut-out problem that would have resulted from using our measurements alone.   As our granite color and backsplash design ideas progressed through several stages, Steve patiently considered every idea and offered advice while assuring that his team could deliver whatever pattern/look we wanted.  When the backsplash installation day arrived, Artisan's recommended tile-setter immediately recognized a challenge using our design for the four "inside" and six "outside" angles presented by the kitchen's bay-type three window counter.  We called Steve to get a different size tile for the whole project.  "No problem" ... he called the supplier, had replacement tile readied for us to immediately pick-up, and the backsplash was completed without the need to re-schedule.  From demo to design and  installation, every member of the Artisan team was courteous and professional.  If you're looking for a granite craftsman who can deliver a quality result based on years of design and installation know-how, Steve is the one to call.

  • We were building a new house and completely frustrated with a builder's stone subcontractor.  The pricing that we were quoted by the builder was roughly twice the market price.  Going to the Angie's List provider with the largest number of positive reviews was one of the best moves we made during the construction of our home.  From the first call with Steve, we felt comfortable that we were dealing with an honest and professional service organization.  Everything Steve promised he delivered, plus a little extra.  He also had to deal with difficult situation, and successfully navigated between his customer and the builder.  Our kitchen, bathrooms and media room look terrific.

  • My Wife and I were very impressed with YCS.  From the early design phase recommendations and presentation, to the final product we are happy with this large remodel job.

Mike, Ken, JT, Jon and Roy do excellent work.   Honest and trustworthy guys.

They are not the cheapest contractor out there, but you definately get what you pay for.

We highly recommend them, and will use them again in future if we need any further remodeling.
