I emailed Tony after reading passed reviews. Quick response. Sent a list and added to it as he worked for three consecutive Saturdays . This man is prompt, professional, very reasonable, and a very hard worker. He keeps you informed on his progress and takes time to explain if you have questions. No regrets. Im keeping his business card.

    C & K Painting
This is the 2nd time I have used C&K Painting and as with the first time I was very pleased with the service and results. Corbett is very meticulous and insures everything is done right from start to finish. They are the only company that has does the crows foot texturing that matches the original texture in the house. Corbett Thompson is very fair and helpful and is a pleasure to do business with.

    Robert's Sheetrock Repairs
They did a great job! We called on a Friday, Robert came out Saturday and gave a bid, and the workers came Tuesday. They were polite, professional, neat, cleaned up after themselves, and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

    GCR Builders, LC
Here is where I want to really sing GCR's praises, GCR is the only contractor that called me back. I know that everyone is busy trying to recoup from the flood waters as I am. I found GCR on Angie's list and felt very confident that since GCR was on Angie's list I was fairly safe in hiring him. GCR stay in contact with me regularly, and clamed my frustration. GCR was a wonderful company to hire and I would use them over and over.

Almost four weeks before the projected start date, they cashed my near $6,000 check as the down payment (They said it would be cashed when the job started). The morning they were supposed to begin work, the owner canceled the job. I did get my money back, but an entire month was wasted sitting on their schedule, and the anxiety of wondering if my refund check was going to clear, was unnecessary and stressful.

Corbett and his men did an excellent job. I had been told by others that they could not match the existing texturing. Corbett promised he could and the end results were great. Corbett and his men are very professional and friendly.

The best description would be "the owner talked a good game" but didn't provide what was promised. When it came down to it, the owner wanted to have the work finished as quickly as he could but failed in quality and customer service. We were so disappointed in not only the lack of great quality and attention to detail but the lack of professionalism in making sure this project was top notch as promised considering the amount of money we spent. The project took over three months before they left the first time. The owner never did a final walk through to see the finished product and to make sure we were happy. There are still four pieces of the renovation that we need to find someone else to actually come and finish. Two weeks after the final check was paid, we discovered a leak in the new bathroom. After an initial email and call, plumbers were sent the same day to check it out. However it took two months before repairs and completion. We will never recommend anyone to use this company again. If you do, stay on your toes and make sure your eyes are wide open and realize that you won't get what you really want.

    Robert's Sheetrock Repairs
We hired Mr. Ochoa.after another contractor associated with our granite installation stopped returning phone calls. We had tried this other individual because we did not want to put out multiple bids. Lesson learned. Mr. Ochoa (Robert) is tremendous! He gave us a rough estimate via text, and offered to complete the work within two days. When he arrived we added a few things, and his adjusted price was fair. The care in our home and workmanship was excellent. He even re-textured a previous repair from an inferior craftsman.--taking the time to explain his process. Overall he was in and out of our home in about 2.5 hours. He is a warm and considerate individual that stands by his work.

I have mixed feelings about the job.  Julio is a great guy, and is easy to work with. The quality of the work was adequate to
excellent, and the price was fair.  The biggest issue was communication.  Julio prefers to handle things verbally or via text.  This proved to be unreliable as it was clear as the project progressed that he did not fully understand some of our expectations for the job. He did not respond to emails or texts that included any amount of detail.  We had a hard
time getting him to read and understand our requests. We would send emails to him listing our expectations, concerns, etc.
Later we would copy much of the same information in a text.  He rarely responded to detailed texts, and he never responded to the detailed emails.  We felt it was important to get things in writing in case the job went poorly, especially after communication dropped off.   Because of this lack of communication sometimes we were left wondering if he was going to complete the task.
Sometimes he did, but on other occasions he had forgotten about or misunderstood our expectations. The job was slated to take about a month, but it ended up taking almost three months.  Part of this was due to the fact that we
were not ready or did not understand the process.  The timing wasn't a big issue for us though as we expected some overrun.
The quality of the work in some places was excellent.  The tile work was some of the best I have seen.  The two men he had working on our bathrooms were artists.  Their level of detail was beyond anything I expected.
The granite crew was OK, but they were not as detail oriented as the folks that did the tile.
The Plumbers I have some issues with.  I can't question too much of their work as I am not a plumber.  However, we had to have them come back more than anybody else.  Part of this was due to the fixtures we chose, but
there was also some mistakes in their workmanship.    They installed one toilet very crooked and the other slightly.  We had rattling in some pipes after they installed a valve.  They indicated it was a
problem with our choice, but I can't verify that.   They also misthreaded one of the water inlets to a sink causing it to burst one
morning.    They were very nice though, and most importantly they fixed everything I requested without any hesitation.
The carpenter that did the cabinetry seemed like a skilled craftsman, but I could not communicate well.  As a result both things he built for us were not what we asked. This was also partly because Julio did not understand our expectations.   Julio made it right though.
That is why I feel odd about rating him.  We certainly had some frustration, but in the end Julio made everything right.    As
far as responsiveness, from my experience with other contractors this is pretty standard.  I was disappointed though because it started out so much more transparent.  In fact, he was the MOST responsive of all the contractors I
    solicited bids from.
Toward the end of the project I figured out at least part of the reason why the communication dropped off.  He appears to work at least one other job on top of his personal business.  I can see this stretching him.  In fact, the person that did the sheetrock is his brother-in-law, and I believe he is taking over the business.
Julio did have terms of half down and the remainder at completion.  As we got close to the end he wanted more money to pay his workers.  We balked at the idea because it was outside of our terms, and to his credit Julio left us alone about it.

Corbett agreed to do a primer in my entire house. He was friendly and seemed very good. I had delays in the dry wall getting done when promised but Corbett Appeared to be understanding. He had already paid for the primer and asked that I pay for that, which I did. Due to slowness of drywall installation, I had closed on my old house and had no choice but to go ahead and move my stuff in the house but I had the movers put everything in the middle of each room so we could tarp over it. He said it would cost more since there was furniture and I agreed to the change. He came out very early and started taping things off...and moved boxes out of the way. Then before he started, he just said "I'm not going to do this" and just left. I realize there was a lot of boxes and furniture that he had not planned on, but I had told him and had agreed to pay more but he just walked out!
