    Jonesco Construction
    Jonesco partially began the project, then disappeared for several weeks. Neither I or the hiring company was able to reach Jonesco by phone, text, or email.. Against my wishes the barn company again rehired Jonesco a 2nd time. For several weeks, they worked only 2-3 days per week, and when they did show up it was not until 1:00 in the afternoon. At one point, Jonesco threatened to put a lien against my property because they had a dispute with the hiring company, which was resolved the same day. 
    Jonesco has AGAIN disappeared a 2nd time and cannot be reached. I had 3 reputable contractors out to review their work. All 3 have advised I tear down what they've done and start over. The framing posts in the ground are off by a foot or more, and the City inspector advised that the work was far from meeting building codes.
    Jonesco is not capable of simple construction projects, is non-responsive and should be avoided at all costs. Since they have wasted valuable building materials, it will now cost me more to repair the damage they've done than the project was supposed to cost in the first place.

    Was very pleased with the process.  I talked with Kevin prior to having someone pour the  concrete foundation. He guided me on slab specifications so that the shed build would go well. After having the concrete poured by someone else and then cured, Kevin came out and worked up a final bid.  (Kevin actually found someone to pour it, but I had already had signed a contract with another angielist provider.  Wrote a very positive review for them as well. I was impressed that Kevin would help in that way.)

    His pricing which is on his website was followed and reduced 7% due to no need for the metal foundation.

    His workers (3)  came the next week and completed the work in 5-6 hours.  I was extremely pleased with the quality.  They also explained how I should caulk it and paint it to ensure it stays in great shape.  (I chose to paint it myself rather than pay Kevin.)  They cleaned the area up very well.

    After I painting it and add shelving and examining it in more detail, I am still very pleased with the construction. 


    My observation is that there are cheaper builders, but I felt the quality I received was worth it and would recommend to others.

    Bill Kyle Custom Homes Inc are great. They try to get you what you want, but I understand building a house on a remote ranch site is pretty difficult and it costs a little bit more. I'm actually going to do some work on the plans and make it different and go back to him and see what he thinks about my ideas and changes. He's been great so far. He's been responsive and got me some stuff. Up to this point, he hasn't even asked me for any money yet. He met me on site and he was there when he told me to be there. He's professional, taking time with me and answering all my questions.

    Kevin the owner is great understood what I needed and how fast I needed it.  Just moved here from CA with my family and we needed a temp controlled barn built quick on concrete foundation for our rabbits before the hot weather hit we had about a 2 week window and MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!  Thanks so much DFW Shed and Fence Co.   GREAT JOB!!!

    Lonestar Overhead Doors
    About 2 years ago is when I originally called Lonestar Overhead Doors for a garage door problem we were having.  The door wouldn't close, and the person I spoke with kindly walked me through the process to fix it.  It was very simple IF you knew what to do and they graciously shared this information for free.  The next time the door wouldn't close I tried the same fix as before, but it didn't work.  I called Lone Star again and asked for an estimate.  They said it would be a $30.00 service call with a minimum of $89.00 labor.  They again started trouble shooting the problem with me over the phone and I was able to fix it myself.  They saved me another $119.00.
    I recently needed to add a gate to an existing fence and I called them again.  I had all of the materials and I just needed the labor.  They came out and removed old posts and fencing and added two more posts to set the new gate.  The installation required two trips because the concrete had to set before they could hang the gate.  They charged me  $300.00 to do it all.

    Work began promptly as soon as the necessary permits were secured and foundation was completed on or around March 31, 2008. The contract allowed 20 working days of good weather for completion. Work proceeded at a reasonable pace and was 75% complete (per the contract draws) on April 20. Up to this point, there were almost daily emails from Mr. Cox telling me what was happening and when future events would occur. Communications slowed way down about May 1 and progress slowed to a crawl. As of May 6, he was supposedly getting ready to city inspection any day. The inspection was promised for tomorrow or Monday for sure for the next 10 days. Dry wall was finally installed and texturing was promised for the week of May 19. The electrical was still not complete. On June 3, electrical is still not complete and Mr. Cox now claimed to be so ill he couldn't do any work. Then he claimed to have hired a fellow to help him complete the electrical wiring, but then this worker contracted the mysterious illness as well and couldn t work either. This went on for 3 weeks. Around June 23, Mr. Cox informed me that the further delays were due to the fact that the cost of the brick had escalated so much that he didn t have enough money left to buy the brick, much less pay the mason s labor fee. He claimed to be waiting on this one individual to be available who would put up the brick for materially less than a regular masonry company would charge. 2 more weeks passed, with Mr. Cox coming by infrequently to do some small task. I left town on an extended trip July 5 and heard over the next several weeks that no work was being done. I called Mr. Cox on July 27 and asked him/demanded that the brick work be completed before my return on August 21. He assured me that it would be and told me that he had pulled off the garage project to go do a few other small jobs to earn enough money to be able to buy the brick. When I returned in August, I found that one bundle of bricks had been put up around the entry door. Those bricks were not erected properly and had to be torn down. Mr. Cox has abandoned the project and there has been no further communication. At the time Mr. Cox abandoned the project, the balance of the contract due was $2,500. I ve spent too much to tear it down and start over, however it is going to be costly to fix and finish it. Brick cost $1,260. Mason labor and other necessary materials to complete brick work $5,600. Tear off 2 courses of shingles at roofs valley and install correctly with flashing to cure leak, replace 5 other rows of shingles that were installed incorrectly, install ridges. $800. Sofits and brick trim boards are constructed improperly (sit too far away from the wall and won t meet code). Will have to be torn down and installed correctly. $740. Repair door frame $100. Total to fix and complete construction $8,500.
