Overall it was a great job. When issues came up (as they inevitably do) they were handled professionally. The team was very good & cared about their work.

    Pride Painting
After getting 1 horrible quote, and 2 other really high quotes, finally my friend, also a previous client of Pride Painting, recommended them to us. I reached out to the owner on a Sunday morning, asking if he was available last minute, an hour from the call. He agreed and showed up on time. When shaking hands and engaging in small talk, he seemed a little "cocky," or bold with confidence, and I thought I was going to experience a repeat of previous quotes. As I walked him through the interior and walked around the exterior, my comfort/confidence grew a little more and more, because he was actively listening, giving feedback and personal ideas/input, which I hadn't previously considered, and he even had a notebook to write down personally requested specifics that were most significant to my wife and I. My initial first impression quickly turned around. By the next morning, we hired him, after receiving an extremely thorough estimate that included absolutely every dollar, even daily man hours/labor. After 3 weeks, all the work was accomplished!! My family and I were so excited and happy, that not only Pride Painting understood our vision, but they had exceeded our expectations! Another major plus, especially after spending much time hunting for and getting quotes from professionals, the business owner brought in the plumber and electrician needed within the process!! I was so relieved, this was so helpful!! Throughout the entire process, I was blown away at the owners hands on approach, performing the majority of the work himself, but one of his employees helped with all of the painting, and did a wonderful job as well. The owner designed and created both the "built in" for storage/shelving in the office and the new, amazing large back patio! It was an absolute pleasure working with Pride Painting, and if necessary in the future, this is the only company I'll reach out to. Community, we highly recommend Pride Painting!!!!

    J Brewer and Associates
J Brewer & Associates installed a basement bath and drywall in a basement room, requiring removal of a steel support post and replacement with heavy lumber supports so that a doorway could be relocated.  Additionally, they hung 10 doors (10) for this project. The bathroom was a joint effort in that my husband and I selected, purchased, and staged almost all of the material other than standard trim, drywall, etc.  (Thus the price shown was primarily labor.) Additionally, my husband installed and wired the lighting and switches, though the J Brewer crew pulled in the necessary wiring where walls and drywall were installed.  The fellow in charge of the job, who did most of it, was an outstanding framer.  We were totally amazed at the replacement of the support post with framing lumber !  He also did a superb job on the plumbing, shower installation (the wall had to be squared for that one!), toilet installation, and sink/faucet installation.  My husband said "I wish I knew at your age what you know how to do!"  (He is very young - about 30.)  He was an extremely fine young man, very polite, on time, agreeable, and willing to tackle any problem.  My husband thought very highly also of the young man who installed the floor tile, and  more specifically, the man who hung the doors.  (Note that my husband is a perfectionist!)  We were very pleased with the drywall work.  They cleaned up everything very well as the job progressed and after the job was complete.  With the joint effort involved, there was some back and forth  negotiations and defining details on the contract, e.g., who would do exactly what with regard to electrical, especially.  These contracts tend to be fairly general and I do advise anyone using any contractor doing modifications or additions to carefully think about all the interfaces and make sure they are handled in the contract so there is no misunderstanding about what services will be performed for the price quoted.  J Brewer was very good to work with on defining details of the contract.

    Van Deusen Design
After our son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2004, we knew that at some point we were going to have to make the house handicap accessible.  We met with several builders to discuss how to make our house accessible and none of them  followed up with us, which left us frustrated.  In August of 2013, Mackenzie fell down the stairs at a friend?s house.  He fractured his arm and injured his knee.  At that point, he could no longer go up and down the stairs to his bedroom so we moved his bed to the dining room.  We knew we had to find someone to help us redesign our living space. We started looking for an interior designer since our previous experience with contractors was unproductive.  A few were found in the Chattanooga area, but the one I kept going back to was Beth Van Deusen.    I emailed Beth and briefly described what we were looking for and I actually told her that if she didn?t have time to take this project on to please not my waste my time.  She called me that evening and we scheduled a day for her to come to the house and meet with us.  Within a couple of weeks she had three drafts for us to review.  Beth provided us with one option that we had never even considered which ended up being the one we chose.  She understood what we needed to accomplish from a handicap accessible perspective.  She was patient and listened to every change we came up with.  She kept us on track and guided us away from bad ideas.  It was exciting to see the design come to life

I went in with a strict mindset on purchasing a few specific products, that ended quickly. Mostly because they are in they salvage business, they do not have ever item i was looking for, in fact I purchased none of the iems I went for, but instead came out with a lovely wrought-iron garden gate and 2 sections or railing that matched.
