    VANN-AIR SYSTEMS CO
I just move into this home, and had replaced my thermostat. When my furnace would not come on, I assumed the new thermostat had been wired incorrectly, and called that provider to come look at it. They told me that the induction motor (I think) on my furnace was bad, and they could replace it Monday for $550. It was Friday and the weekend was forecast to get down to 30. I asked about possibly repairing it that day and was told sure, but it will cost more - $750. And that they couldn't guarantee that if they got that part working that something else would not turn up wrong with the furnace. I told them I needed to think about it, and they provided me a quote for a new furnace - $5800 for a 3.5 ton, 88 percent efficient Carrier. I called Tim Ortega with Air Maintenance for a second opinion. He told me on the phone that the competitors price for the motor sounded high, and that he was certain he could get it working for less than that. He stayed on the phone with me while I crawled into the crawlspace to try to give him the info he needed, and he came up that afternoon. He was able to get my furnace started without replacing the part, and charged me $185 to do so. But the really amazing part comes next - he told me my heat exchanger was cracked and that he would recommend I consider replacing my furnace, but that he could not do that work for me because he was not insured to work on propane. He connected me with Vann Air, relaying that he felt they were the most honest and trustworthy company in the business. Vann Air has now replaced my furnace AND my air conditioner with a heat pump - the furnace rated for 4 tons and 92 percent efficiency, for $5800. I was so impressed that Tim did not replace and charge me for a part even though I would have known no better, and instead got the one working that I had, and then recommended another provided to replace my furnace to his financial detriment. You just don't see that level of integrity that much, anymore. Well, I need to correct that - Vann Air referred me back to Tim to take out a mini split I no longer need, add one to a four season porch that I have and replace my humidifier. Such nice people to work with.

Our A/C stopped blowing cold air. I called Tuesday morning and a service tech arrived within 30 minutes. Within 20 minutes the tech isolated the problem to a bad capacitor on the outside condenser. They replaced it and they were on their way. I asked for an itemized bill/receipt. Total cost was $70 for labor and $135 for the capacitor. After they had left I looked up the cost of a new capacitor online and they run about $20 on the high end. I understand a markup on parts but 675% markup I do not understand, that is extremely high. I would recommend them on service and but I think next time I will attempt the diagnosis myself or have them diagnose and I will find the part myself and do the work to replace it.

The service tech came out, was punctual, and very business like, which I appreciated. Once completed, he informed me of the results and recommendations, etc. I was very pleased with everything. I would recommend them.

Tim was recommended to us by a neighbor who owns several rental properties and uses him exclusively.  Our furnace quit on Friday morning.  After trying to contact a couple of other service technicians to take a look at it (on a cold day), we called Tim mid afternoon.  He came by that evening, had the part with him, and had our heat working in 20 minutes.  He was very courteous and friendly, and was even able to make three cold kids laugh.

Went great! Provider was there on time on the day requested. He checked the unit and cleaned and serviced it, then added coolant. He gave it a clean bill of health and verified proper temperature once complete. Was very helpful, and answered all my questions.

We were quite pleased with Malone Heat & Air's service and we plan to continue to use them in the future!  It was reassuring to us that the previous owners of our house (we've lived here 6 months) also used Malone Heat & Air for service and we recently noticed one of their vans across the street at another neighbor's house.

Terrible experience. I knew what I wanted, the Carrier Infinity Greenspeed, so they didn't have to sell me. They installed it sideways in my basement on a concrete wall with duct work above it (touching my wood floors and joists) so that it completely blocks my water main and kitchen plumbing. They destroyed the vapor barrier in the crawl space and did not seal any of the vents they installed so I could see day light through my floors in places, so now, I have to winterize all over again. Worse, they cut out part of the main load bearing foundation, without reinforcing it, to put ductwork through.
They destroyed sizeable chunks of the blown in foam insulation I had put in all crawl space. They cut holes in the well insulated door I had made to my crawlspace to run 2 ducts outside, under the porch which left large holes around the vents where cold air blows in on my copper pipes, most of which are located right there. They damaged my bathroom wall and tile. After 9 months of waiting for them to make good on the promise to fix all the damage they did, he is now too busy to be bothered, acts frustrated I even ask. He is not willing to repair the damage nor reimburse me if I pay for it. And they never pulled a permit to do the work. The Carrier is great, but I just wish I had not let thinking Mr. Keith is a nice man sway me in his direction. I did not feel his installers were professional and question the whole company's competence. According to one that was sent out once, employee turnover is high and most customers do complain. I know some of who installed my unit no longer work there. I so regret hiring them, a very expensive mistake when you're spending $11,400.00. And ps, my house is 1 store and just under 1400 sq. ft.

I called a nice lady at Superior this past Friday on what was the hottest day of the year. She was very kind and said someone would be there in a couple of hours. The owner showed up, discovered a burned up circuit board and had the part with him. He had the problem resolved quickly and was very kind. I will use them again.

The board replacement went well, but, we also requested a quote at that point for a new furnace. A few weeks passed by with no response, and we requested another. We recently requested a quote for a third time for a new furnace and we've still yet to receive a response.
Disappointing to say the least. Their service tech. was courteous & punctual, but the company just doesn't seem to want our business. I'd hate to have to call them for an actual emergency.
