    Langley Roofing
I had new flashing put on my chimney less than 2 years ago and because I'm doing a kitchen renovation that required taking the ceiling down, I discovered it was leaking again. Jeremy Langley came out the day I called to look at the problem and inspect the roof in general.  He was professional and friendly.  He recommended new mortar before they replace the flashing and gave me someone's name they have worked with who came out the same day as well.  The mortar man then back the next morning to mortar the chimney. I would say repoint, but it was beyond that.  Jeremy followed up via email with a written estimate, just as he said he would.   Once the mortar had cured, Langley came back out and replaced the flashing as well as trimmed the metal on the edges of the roof and replaced it so it was properly over the edge.  The guys who came out to do the job were also professional and friendly.
I was happy with their fast response, their professionalism and the quality of their work.  That makes them a rare treat among providers thus far in my renovation experience here in Chattanooga.

It went very well. no problems.  The only issue was getting them there. they were very busy recently and had a job go overtime so they cancelled 2 previous appointments, but they called in advance to reschedule, finally coming out on a sunday.

    Charity Chimney Sweeps
Based on the Angie's List recommendation, we contacted Charity Chimney Sweeps and made an appointment.  They were punctual (calling ahead to confirm), thorough in their cleanup and careful not to make a mess.  Professional.  I had some broken firebrick in the back of my fireplace insert and we discussed options on repairing.  They did not pressure me into any solution - but offered a more permanent fix than simply replacing the firebrick.  It was a fair amount more expensive (not included in the $129 base fee I cited for chimney cleaning) - but they did a great job and I'll never have to worry about replacing firebrick again!  Good experience.

I called at least 5 of Angie's list roofers.  He responded immediately.  Others took hours even days to get back to me.  In fact, Langley finished my job before the number one rated roofer even bothered to call me back.
Mr. Langley is smart, professional and very good at what he does.  AND he is living in the 21st century, employing all means of communication including phone, email and text.  He is the first roofer I've worked with that responds to you in real time via text and he doesn't make you want to take a shower when he's finished with your roof.
I actually consider him to be on my short list of contractors that I implicitly trust.  If you've read my other reviews on Angie's list, then you know that is almost impossible.

    Charity Chimney Sweeps
We bought our house recently not knowing any of the maintenance history so we wanted to have chimneys inspected (and cleaned and repaired if necessary) before we used them this fall.  Charity Chimney Sweeps inspected the chimney's and said they were clean and ready to use.  Also took the time to show me how to open and close both flews as I thought one was broken.  Excellent service.  Very nice technicians.  They were about 15 minutes late for appoint due to a delay in the morning, but they called me about 30 minutes before appointment time to let me know they were running a little late.  I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again.

I was pregnant and 7 days away from my due date when I woke up to a dripping sound in our bedroom. My husband climbed in the attic and found 2 places in our roof that were leaking. One where the vent for our gas water heater comes out of the roof and the other around the chimney.  We had been told by 2 other roofers  that we had hail damage and that our whole roof needed to be replaced. When Mr. Langley inspected the roof he determined that we did not have hail damage and that our roof had at-least another 4 or 5 years, which was a huge relief. We purchased our home in the fall of 2011 and Mr. Langley explained that whoever did the roofing work prior to our purchase did the work in both of these places incorrectly.  Being so close to my due date I was stressed at the thought of having roof work done with a new baby at home.  Mr. Langley made our job a priority because of how close I was to my due date; for which we were very grateful, as our baby was born 3 days after the job was done.  When the roofers were here my husband was able to talk with them and see the work being done.  He was very impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, skill, craftsmanship, and the speed at which they worked. Of the companies I called to get quotes, Langley not only had the best price, was the most professional, timely in response, and trustworthy; I found Langley also had top reviews on Angie's List & BBB. We were fully pleased with every aspect of working with this company and will be using them for all future jobs. We highly recommend Langley to anyone needing roofing work.

    Charity Chimney Sweeps
I was very pleased with Charity Chimney Sweeps. They were easy to schedule an appointment with, and showed up promptly. The technicians were polite and considerate (taking shoes off at door, for example). They worked after regular business hours to get my fireplace in order before the Thanksgiving holiday. Best of all, their price for the work performed was half the price another company had given me. I will definitely use them again for fireplace maintenance and repair.

    Super Sweeps
The individual that took original measurements explained everything that had to be done very well.  He had to get his own estimates as to fabrication expense and call back with final project costs.  They charged $100.00 for a chimney inspection which was taken off the final total.  After giving approval to the project they require  50% deposit which was worrying to me since all experts say never give money in advance.  However, in this case the project was completed in a matter of days and completed in a very professional and highly competent manner.  I was very happy with the complet project

Firehouse Chimney & Duct Clean aka Seymour Chimney
I found this Chimney Sweep company through Angie's List, where the reports were excellent in virtually all categories. I called on a Wednesday and left a message. The owner, Kent, returned my call later the same day, quoted me a price for the work I wanted done, which sounded more than fair so I said let's do it. Two weeks earlier I had met a man with a Chimney Sweep & Repair business, who had given me an estimate that was 40% higher and sounded like there could possibly be additional charges.

Kent was able to schedule my sweep for the very next day, which was remarkable since he is essentially a sole proprietor with himself as the only employee, although his father, who started the business in 1983 and has now retired, but will help out occasionally if someone needs service before Kent can get to them.

Kent performed the work very professionally including cleaning the exterior chimney, disassembled the interior flues disconnecting them from the wood-burning stove, cleaning both the interior flues and the stove thoroughly and cleaning up everything after his work was complete. I watched and talked to Kent throughout the time he was engaged in his work, asking him many questions about the right and wrong way of operating and caring for my wood stove to ensure against a chimney fire. As his other job is as a fireman in Knoxville, I felt like I was getting advice regarding safe use from perhaps the best possible source. Kent is in every respect a true Gentleman and responsible business owner. The world would be a better place if there were a lot more businessmen like him serving consumers..
