    AAA Basement Waterproofing

Sales person (owner) was very knowledgeable and gave detailed steps as to what needed to be done to resolve problem. Work crew were professional and worked in a timely manner. They kept me informed as to how the job was progressing. They clearly answered any questions I had about their work processes. When they were done clean-up was so good you could not even tell they had been there.

The technician showed up on time with all the proper materials.  He then installed the vapor barrier and showed me the finish work.  Looked great and I have had no issues with my crawlspace since the installation.

    Stay Dry Waterproofing
We are new to crawl spaces and what's required for their maintenance.  However, we have had extensive experience with basements in other homes in other parts of the country and know that proper water drainage around a home's foundation is very important.
We had noticed some soil gaping around the foundation of our current home and, given the frequent rains we have been experiencing, did not know its impact on our crawl space.  In fact, one of our neighbors had just told us that they had standing water in their crawl space and they were in the middle of getting that problem corrected.
We are seniors and are not really able to access the crawl space to adequately inspect it.   So, we looked on Angie's List to research other's experiences with crawl space/basement waterproofing companies.  We were so impressed with the reviews for Mike and Angela Brindle of Stay Dry Waterproofing that we emailed an inquiry to them through Angie's to ask if they would be willing to inspect our home's crawl space and evaluate the effectiveness of water drainage around the perimeter of our house. Within the hour Angela Brindle had responded and we had an appointment for Mike to come the next morning to our home.

Mike arrived promptly, introduced himself and was very professional.  We walked the house perimeter and he answered all my questions about drainage and assured me that the soil gaps around the foundation were not a problem.  He then opened the crawl space door and entered to inspect the crawl space.  In about five minutes, Mike returned with good news that it was dry and the joists showed no indication of mold growth.  Basically, he said the crawl space in our home needed nothing.  Mike also mentioned that he went ahead and recovered the floor with the vapor barrier in a couple of areas where someone had pulled it back and left the floor exposed.
I asked Mike what we owed him and he said nothing.  He wouldn't even accept gas money.   Wow!  This is customer service beyond the norm.
Obviously, we are thankful for the 'no charge' but, more importantly, we are grateful to have had an honest person give us an honest evaluation of our situation.  The owners of Stay Dry Waterproofing are people of integrity.  We do not hesitate to recommend Stay Dry Waterproofing and should our crawl space situation change we will be calling them!

    B-Dry Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
I had a small crack in the brick from under a window to the foundation that was evaluated as cosmetic and not structural.  B-Dry came and injected the crack with a special epoxy to prevent further cracking and to ensure there would be no moisture intrusion.  Product was as advertised and installer was very professional and explained everything in detail to me.  Only complaint was there were slow to provide me with a writeup and paid receipt for the repair.

Salesman Walt Kimbro came to quote me on the crawlspace upgrade.  He was very knowledgeable and professional.  I knew the work would not be cheap based on comments in Angie's List but it was necessary - my crawlspace was damp and there was mold.  Walt patiently worked with me through the contract process knowing it's not easy to spend $8500 on a part of your house you don't see very often.
The crew of Nick, Ben and Reese were excellent.  Nick kept me informed of their arrival times.  They answered questions and tolerated my photographs as the work progressed.  They cleaned out all old insulation and debris from the crawlspace and hauled it away - they even took some other wood and rebar that was hanging around.  They applied a mold spray to kill mold.   Part of the job involved grading the crawlspace floor which was not easy since here in Chattanooga we don't have soil, we have rock with some clay mixed in.  They insulated the foundation walls with a thick product called Silverglo.  It covered the old foundation vents to stop outside air from entering.   After that a 20 mil vapor barrier was laid down covering the floor and going partially up the walls and covering the piers.  The Silverglo was also cut to fit between each floor joist to insulate the sill plate.  A sump drain with alarm was installed at the low point of the crawlspace floor.   Foam was used to seal every crack and hole.  They installed a weatherproof door in place of my old crawlspace door.  Finally, a dehumidifier was installed and tested.
I am very pleased with the work that was done and very happy with the results.   I used to hate my crawlspace - it was a nasty, damp, bug-infested part of my house that I didn't want to go into.  Now I love it.  I can go in there to inspect my plumbing, HVAC, dryer vent, etc, and it is clean, dry, and pleasant.  I know it is better for my house and it is healthier for me and my family.

Michael had come out a couple months previous and looked at my crawlspace and we had discussed a couple options.  He was booked solid for a month and I wasn't in a hurry so we put it off till August.  Michael and a technician showed up and reviewed what I wanted done.  The technician quickly and efficiently proceeded to accomplish the task.   I am happy with the work provided.  I think the cost is a bit too high but I understand his business and why he gets away with charging the rates he does.  I was provided with the price before the job and agreed to it.

JEFF MAHAN ...ARRIVED ON TIME.  (in today's world that is a A plus)
AFTER EVALUATING MY PROBLEMS, JEFF DISCUSSED WITH ME THE OPTIONS AND HIS RECOMMENDATIONS.
He was very straight forward and to the facts, no bull, no candy coating, no over selling. I was real pleased with his attitude and his desire to help me, with his expertise.
I felt he really cared about my needs and he suggested solutions to solve the issues at the best possible cost.
I never felt any pressure like you do with other companies, and realized he is for real, and has a great attitude for taking care of customers, the right way the first time, at the best price.
I will way the options and will use this company for the solutions...
***I will recommend this company to all,.... as it is a genuine A plus company--- for Angie's list.

    SERVPRO of Chattanooga
Called SERVPRO to inspect our crawlspace. We had water intrusion during many rainstorms and appeared that mold was growing on walls.
Mike Brown came out to look at our crawlspace.  He did a thorough examination then let us know what he saw and how it could be corrected.  Mike spent plenty of time explaining a couple alternatives and general pricing.  We liked his explanation on how they would removed all the mold and spray to prevent it from coming back.  He also explained we had to be sure we solved the problem on how the water intrusion occurred in the first place.  We replaced our gutters and and did some outside grading.  Once we had the intrusion problem solved a SERVPRO team came and made sure our crawlspace was dry and they began removing the mold.  The project took two days and the crew was great.  They laid new plastic ground liner after they were done cleaning.  The offered air testing but I felt that was unnecessary since this was the crawlspace and their cleaning appeared to be very thorough.  They also offer a warranty on their work.

I had AAA come out to examine possible water in my garage.  When the owner arrived, the first thing he asked was if I was off work that day and if I was the boss that he needed to be dealing with.  When I said I was no and that I was the boss, he then asked if I was a teacher.  When I said no and provided only short answers to personal questions, he seemed upset and said his reputation proceeded him.  I'm not sure why my profession or marital status was important or related to the issue.  I told him what I had been seeing in my garage and that my crawl space was dry as it had been checked recently.  He inspected my crawl space with me and when we came out of the crawl, he again questioned my profession and marital status and if I had children.  He looked at the back wall of my garage and the inside of the garage and told me that I needed to purchase a $250 humidifier from Lowe's or Home Depot or if I had allergies a $1300 humidifier from a website he provided.  The humidifier would need to be run 24/7 and if I wanted to do more than that an inline drainage system was needed.  He provided a quote for that and then asked how soon I would be making my decision on the work to be accomplished.  After he left, I called another company for a 2nd quote and was provided much more professional service from that company.  I would not recommend AAA.
