    Bought groupon for 3 month membership. Love this facility but realized driving 40 min one way is not realistic to my (workout) routine. All the staff are friendly, personal trainers are very responsible and helpful, and great atmosphere to exercise.

    They are very good, especially with little kids. They are very patient with the kids and the kids pay attention to them. I really amazed, they start at 5. They really pay attention to the instructions. They go from small to adults. People I talk to are very happy with the progress the kids make. They have to take a note to their teacher and the teacher has to let them know how they are doing in school.

    We joined the center in Oak Ridge because they seemed to be the biggest, the nicest, and the newest. They've been open now for a number of years so they are no longer the newest. They have good equipment, they are spacious and they've got a lot of facilities. They are fine. I haven't compared prices; I know there are a few places that are cheaper but I think they are probably smaller and don't have as much to offer. I belonged to another fitness center and at that time National's equipment was better and newer and the facility was nicer.

    They are always friendly and clean. The environment is welcoming. The music is not overwhelming its nice. I can always find one of the exercise machines to use. There are alot of people there but I do not have to stand in line to use an exercise machine. They have a pool that is nice and they have alot of good classes. I will continue to go there.

    I was stuck with them for three years and they took 45 dollars a month out of my checking account. It was big, cold, and unfriendly. Nobody talks to each other or anything. It was impersonal. I just didn't like it at all.

    The facility and equipment are both quite good, access to equipment has been excellent, all fitness equipment is well maintained and in working order. I have only minor issues with the men's showers and locker room facilities that prevent me from rating the facilities as excellent.

    To quickly address my physical problems/goals and to train for a long hike at high elevation I signed a contract for Personal Training. The first and third trainers were outstanding and they help me substantially. Second trainer lasted 3 weeks. Fourth-sixth trainer are less qualified, but are gaining experience. However, the frequent turnover of the Personal Trainers is a disappointment and does lead to obtaining less from this service of the NFC than I expected.

    The Oak Ridge NFC's managers all seem young and inexperienced and not focussed on checking with their customers. There are no pictures with names showing who the managers are, and they have never talked with me, never sent an e-mail, nor provided a web based feedback system. Thus I've never been asked how I view the experience at the NFC facility and if I am getting all the possible benefits. Because of the frequent evening use I've tried using the web system to provide comments on deficiencies in the showers but never received an acknowledgment, and the minor item I commented about continues to need repair (6 months latter).

    The national billing system requires credit card payment. However they didn't handle a situation in a customer friendly way when my credit card number was changed by the card provider 2 days before the automated billing. NFC billing should have looked at the record of and gt;12 months of full payment without problem and contacted me when the old credit card number was refused instead of imposing a penalty. Several e-mails and phone calls later, and providing documentation they finally withdrew the penalty.

    They have a wide variety of classes offered. They have an arthritis pool. They have an incredibly gifted aqua instructor named Kim, who is incredibly good. She only works Monday - Thursday but I would pay extra for her. She has helped me tremendously. They have tremendous quality workout equipment. It is top notch. They have a lot of work out class. You can get unlimited tanning as part of your membership if you want. There is a masseuse available. He is no more expensive than other people in the area. He is good. He does a decent job.

    The cons - when you get in a contract with these people make sure it says on paper what they say verbally, because they are not always the same. I bought in on a single membership plan. I later decided to expand my plan to the buddy plan, upping my monthly cost from $30 to $59. I could bring anybody with me that I wanted to. All of my friends joined but my husband did not want to join. When I was making this decision, the lady I was talking to, said that anytime in the future if you don't want the buddy plan anymore all you have to do is start a new contract, but you would have to extend your contract time. I have an ongoing back problem so I have to exercise in the pool. I was on the buddy plan for over a year and I wanted to go back to a single membership. My friends now had all joined. They got a good deal at $20/month and I wanted a good deal so I wanted to go back to an individual membership. Now they said that I had to finish out my whole three year contract when before they said I could switch at any time.

    They have wonderful instructors. Most of the ones I see are very dedicated and are always changing the routines. This is a huge place, so you can walk, they have many machines and they have individual classes. And they are C-H-E-A-P! For my husband and I, we pay $63.00 a month. The only downside is they only have 3 showers for men and 3 showers for women.

    Dr. Henderson is willing to take the time to discuss any concerns that I have regarding diabetes treatments. Each visit has been successful in that he listens to what I have to say and continues to offer suggestions and medicine changes to adapt to my lifestyle. My only issue with this office is the fact that Summit Medical Group is a rather large group practice, and we have had some issues getting through the phone maze when calling in. More than once we have navigated the voice mail maze only to be connected to someone who could not help and then be put back into the voice mail maze.
