They called prior to arrival, showed up on time, and did the work as agreed. What more can you ask for? While here for a tune up, we asked for a garage door spring replacement. They gave us a great price and installed it in about 30 minutes.

I left a voice mail that was not returned for two days.  When I called back and spoke to someone, they were professional, apologized, and made sure to get me service right away.  They said they'd try to get me someone that same day, if possible.  Sure enough, they told me to expect someone around 6pm.  They called repeatedly to let me know that they were running behind, eventually showing up at 8pm.  Getting regular calls from them was a lot better than being in the dark.  When the service van showed up, he quickly diagnosed it as a bad motor and let me decide whether I wanted a quote for the parts and labor and an estimate on when they could have it fixed, or whether I wanted a new unit installed that night.  I asked for a new unit, and it was done in the hour or so promised.  They even sent over another van but didn't tell me why; perhaps a part or install help was needed, but they didn't charge me any more for that.  Considering how late it was, I was happy that that were willing to get it all done that night.

We bought a new house on Monday and started moving some of our belongings in. I arrived at the house Tuesday morning with another car-load of boxes, pulled into the garage, closed the door, and heard a loud metal snapping sound. I instantly thought that I hadn't pulled the car in far enough and the door had hit the car, but the car was safe and the door was down. I hit the opener and the door moved about an inch, then nothing. Again, and the same result. And my car was trapped in the garage. Being new to the area I didn't know any mechanic or overhead door service, and I had no internet at the house yet, so I called my husband at work and told him to go onto Angie's List and look up garage door repair. He found two companies with good ratings, and I called the first one, Cornerstone. It was 7:45am and I wasn't even sure someone would be in their office yet. I needed to unload my boxes and go back to our apartment for another load, and thus really, REALLY needed to get my car out. June (I believe that's her name) answered the phone. I explained the situation and asked if someone could come out that day. She said they had a pretty full schedule, but that someone could be there later in the afternoon. As she said that, apparently her dispatcher in the office was walking by and overheard our conversation. The dispatcher said they could send someone out by 10am. True to form, Lance arrived at 9:30am. By 12:30 the door was working like new and Lance gave me an overview of what happened - the main spring over the door was rusted and obviously hadn't been oiled in a while. It snapped, which caused the coils on either side of the door to come loose, and the door couldn't open. He also showed me a part of the track that had been bent and the wheels were rubbing and causing undue friction. Lance fixed the track, put some heavy grease on it, and said he'd inspected the rest of the door to make sure everything was in good order. He also gave me some advice on keeping the springs and hinges in good condition. Being that we were just barely moved into the house (didn't even have furniture in it yet!), I didn't have my checkbook on me. I asked to pay by credit card, and while they don't normally do that, Lance called into the office and I was able to give my number over the phone to their billing agent. Everyone at Cornerstone was friendly, professional, and all extremely helpful. I didn't find the price too outrageous for the time it took to complete the job and all the repairs Lance had made. I will definitely be using Cornerstone from now on for my garage door services.
