Flooring reviews in Nolensville

    A & H Flooring
Angel and his workers did a total demolition, installation and refinishing of our hardwood floors. His cost estimate was fair and reasonable. The workers were unbelievably skilled and professional and the wok was completed in a very timely manner. We are extremely pleased with the final result.

    Brilliance Flooring
I was so super excited to finally have my floors refinished. It was something that had been bothering me for at least 18 months or so. This however, was a very disappointing experience. The company rates well and has some good reviews. I was sold by Ben the owner after several bids came through from other vendors. He offered a Bona product that would protect the floors from scratches from our mini aussie (25 lbs.) The overall bid and contract process was great. I had the bid in my hands within an hour and the contract process seems to go very smoothly. I received automated emails prior to the job indicating a project manager would be in contact and on site for the job. The automated emails were extremely informative as well. Unfortunately, things went down hill from there. To sum things up - Poor Communication, Lack of leadership and rushed job = BAD Job and loss of Trust!! Day 1 - Movers came to move the furniture to the garage and loft areas. All went OK, until they decided a very large bookshelf/cabinet was too heavy to move and they would not be moving such piece. This piece in question was a concern of mine from the beginning, but I was assured by Ben that his team of movers wouldn't have any issues. Day 1 continued to be a challenge as there was not a project manager for the job, he was out "sick" so I was told. The crew came into the house and started sanding. They did not speak a bit of english and did not appear to want to be bothered with questions. The day continue and they decided to finish the floor around the large piece of furniture and then move the large piece back in place when a coat of varnish/finish was applied. This area was NOT dry nor was it the finish that would be applied to the remaining areas of the floor. I stressed my concern but the crew didn't respond. The crew continue with their work and proceeded to stain the floors. I called the owner and he assured me that it would be addressed and things would be taken care of....... I requested that he meet me at the house the following day. Day 2 - The owner met with us and agreed the large piece of furniture needed to be moved upon the crews arrival the piece of furniture was moved to the garage. I also discussed my dissatisfaction about stain color. It didn't appear to be even or the color that I had selected. I was once again assured it would become darker as the finish was applied and not to worry. Day 2 - Again no project manager on site and the crew continued with the first coat of the finish. Day 3 - No project manager and the crew was growing very angry and frustrated with my questions. They applied the final finish. The finish appear to be a matte finish when I had requested a Satin finish, there was hallowing and sander burns throughout the 1400 sq. feet. I was extremely disappointed and heartbroken that this was a disaster!! I called Ben and left a couple of message, he finally texted back after a couple of hours. I expressed by concern and he offered to re-do the floors for a 50% discount. After several message, I requested that he meet us at the house the following morning. He agreed after seeing the floors that they were a mess and that he would refinish the floors himself with one of his crew. I was glad he saw what we saw and give him a ton of credit for taking on the refinish. He worked Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday and Sunday to re-do the floors. Unfortunately he rushed the process and took shortcuts. He did not remove the quarter round from the baseboards and didn't apply the finish evenly. Overall, I have pooling, debris within the finish and quarter round molding that is a mess! You can't remove the quarter round since it is finished to the floor and it is virtually impossible to paint a clean finish. The day of the move in was a disaster as well. The movers arrived and it was down pouring. I asked the guys to hold off on pulling things out of the garage until the rain slowed, but there were plenty of items that were in the loft area that could be moved. (They were the same movers who moved everything out). Unfortunately, they decided to leave without communicating to me and told the main office that I denied them access to the house. I simply wanted to wait a few minutes for the storm to pass to protect my furniture. We ended up contractor someone ourselves to move the furniture back. The finish that was applied was a Bona Traffic HD finished, which should be very durable. Well after being in the house just a few days, I have scratches throughout the floors. My husband and I have only worn socks and did not return to the house to live until the full cure period (3 days) During the weekend process, I also become extremely concerned since it appeared they were going through the garage and potentially not closing/locking the house while they left. Also the dust and debris ended up in the garage with my furniture. This wasn't suppose to be an access point. Overall - I spend additional money on hotels and dog kenneling then I had budget but I wanted the floors to be right. The owner didn't even offer to reimburse us for our add'l expenses. I also spend many hours going back and forth the the house. Since there was no project manager, it became my responsibility to ensure the crew had access to the house and that things were locked up daily. I am completely dissatisfied with the floors and the overall job. I would not recommend this company. He may have done some jobs great, but this job must not of had is regular crew, Ben the owner is a very nice gentleman, but he job is selling and he really needs to ensure he has teams that can do the work correctly. This was extremely expensive and I am not satisfied at all! I am not the type of person to write a bad review and impact a persons business, however I don't want others to go through the stress that I just went through.

    Boss Design Center
We reached out to Boss Design and had a wonderful experience. We are first time homeowners, a young family of soon to be 7! We wanted to redo our kitchen cabinets, the flooring of the entire first level of the home, remodel the fireplace area as well as the master bathroom. We called and set an appointment for an initial consultation and had no problem setting something up that worked for our schedule. Sean came to our house to talk about the job. He was very pleasant and made us feel confident that Boss Design does a great job, and is a well established company with a good history. He took incredibly detailed notes as well as measurements and a short video of our home. He did not give us an estimate, rather we set an appointment to tour the factory and make some preliminary design choices. They were able to accommodate our schedule and book us on a Saturday. This practice we felt very honest, because anyone can give a quote but having made some actual selection would make the quote much more accurate. Heather was our guide and he did a great job showing us around and answering our questions. The quality of their custom cabinets is evident! Heather showed us various options for flooring, hardware, and of course the cabinets. They have a great selection of things to choose from for every style. Lastly, we spent some time with Talha, the desginer. He is very personable and very intuitive. He understood our style and was immediately able to lay out a cabinet, countertop, flooring combo that we loved! He spent another hour reviewing the scope of work and cost details with us. We took the information home with us and Talha respected the fact that this was a big decision for us. He even came over the following Wednesday, to see our home. By that time, it was obvious to us that such a large project would be more than our family could afford to do. Talha spent an hour with us, giving us some ideas about what the best value changes would be for our home. Talha agreed all of that work for the cost would not be in the best interest of our family. Yet he stayed and gave us advice and his time at no cost because he is an honest businessman. We would recommend Boss design Center to all of our friends and family.

    G&B Carpentry
I am not sure about the was money paid or were services performed question. Yes, I paid money but no services were not performed. After get a free quote, it turns out they would pull up my carpet, fix the sub-floor, roll my carpet back out and then I had to call someone else to tack the carpets back in place after stretching them. I decided it was not worth the time and trouble to have to coordinate 2 contractors to get one thing done. I asked for a refund from Angie's List and was promptly refunded!

    Grayson Homes Inc
After confirming emails and phone calls regarding start date with the contractor and Installation Made Easy, they did not show up the day they had committed to. I had to call their office to find out where they were. The fellow showed up the next day but did not have all of his tools to do the job. Very nice guy, but not prepared and did not know the scope of work. Come to find out he was a sub-contractor Grayson had never used previously. He laid very expensive hand selected marble only to have done a very poor, unacceptable job. Over the following several weeks that it took, the floor was demolished and new marble laid. Very average work at best, and left a mess. Grout on cabinets and tub had to be scraped and scrubbed off and grout at the base of the walls so thick it had to be chipped up to install the base and shoe molding. Instead of cleaning the floor after the installation they told me how to do it! Nice guys, but no sense of urgency until I had to get upset with them! Not again!

    FGL Flooring
After a leak damaged our hardwood floors, we called on Flavio and two other contractors to give us a bid. Flavio arrived on time for our appointment (a reoccuring theme) answered our questions, and gave us a competitive quote. We started the project on a Monday, and moved back in Saturday. The work quality is excellent and the crew kept their work areas clean. Beware, "dustless" really means reduced dust. Be prepared to wipe down counters, cabinets, etc. On a side note, the movers managed to scratch our floors 15 minutes after we returned to the house. I texted Flavio pictures of the damage, and he came out a few days later and repaired it. He then followed up with a phone call to make sure we were satisfied with the repair. This was AFTER he cashed our check. No motivation, other than a concerned business owner helping us out.

McCalls Carpet One Floor & Home
McCall's was a great experience from start to finish. The sales experience was great, very helpful but no pressure. They had a much larger selection and wider variety of carpet than other carpet stores I had been to. Measuring went well. I had a specific time frame that the install needed to occur, and given that I had gone there about 5-6 weeks prior to that date to buy carpet, they were easily able to reserve my dates. The installers came and tore all the old carpet out and disposed of it, and installed all of the new carpet. They cleaned up very well before leaving. I love my carpet and I would definitely go to McCall's first for any future flooring needs!

    Richey Restoration
Dan's two teams, both the mold remediation and carpentry crews, were absolutely excellent. We knew that there were so many issues to resolve with the crawl space, and Dan not only fixed the symptoms but also most of the causes of the mold. (Absolute Waterproofing is handling the drainage problems.) In a nutshell, Dan's team needed to HEPA vacuum the entire crawl (from subfloor to joists); remove ruined batt insulation; sister several compromised floor joists; repair sill plates; replace rim joists; install non-existent foundation vents; and install a simple deck landing.

Even more work than the above was performed, but the gist is that we had a LOT of repairs to be made and we were very stressed about choosing someone to do all of it. Thank goodness we chose well! We will also be using Dan's crew(s) to renovate and remodel our bathrooms at some point in the future. His work really is that good.

    LOWES
Purchased carpet and pad for 3 bedrooms, 1 bonus room, and 1 stairs. Price was good and the quailty of the carpet is nice. We got the and quot;off the rackand quot; carpet and it was about $1 per sq foot. They do charge you for ripping up and hailing away so in the end it was about $2200 for the carpet, the premium pad, and the install/haulaway.

Installer was on time and worked quickly to get it done. Was very impressed with his professionalism.

One thing you need to make sure you do is go to the post office and pick up a and quot;Change of addressand quot; kit. Inside is a 10% coupon. It was a HUGE saver. You can even apply the coupon after the fact so if you are reading this and have already bought take your coupon and receipt in and get you some money back!
