    University of Alabama Hospital
I was to have a routine back surgery by Dr. Mumurri Okar. I was originally having some back pain and was given some pain killers which didn't do much for me. He gave me some steroids which helped. He suggested that I still get the surgery as it could have affects on me later. After the surgery was done, I had paralysis on my right side. I went home in a wheelchair and when I was leaving I saw other folks who walked in just fine but left in wheelchairs. Now I have twice a week where I have pain so bad that I just have to curl up in ball and bear it.

    Deeter, Dr. Kirby H.
Overall visit went well.  I've used over 5 different podiatrists in three different states in last 15 years and Dr. Deeter appeared to be on pare with some of the best and I was looking for a doctor I can stay with during my retirement.   I do not let people work on my feet that I do not trust.and I feel comfortable with Dr. Deeter.  Dr Deeter spent more time than I thought he would to discuss various issues and he seems to take a very practical and cost effective approach to maintaining feet health.  That is really all I can ask from a doctor because I know most of getting good results is up to me.  His office was busy, but that just tells me he is in demand and they seemed to handle the work load effectively.  The nail technician was in the office and did my toes very quickly and effectively.  When you get older and are diabetic you appreciate nail and foot care more than ever and I was well satisfied.

    Disalvo, Dr. Thomas
I am 80 years old and have received care from a variety of many physicians. I place Dr. DiSalvo at the top of the list. You would expect a Vanderbilt faculty member to be up-to-date with the latest research in his field. Dr. DiSalvo amply fulfills that expectation. His "bedside manner" is outstanding. He, his principal nurse Linda Ott, and his entire staff make the patient feel like he is the most important one in the world. Dr. DiSalvo has taken as much time as necessary during each of my visits. Because of his thoroughness, appointment late in the day tend to run behind schedule but I have no problem with that. He may be late but it's because he is treating his patients with care. Technical expertise, thoroughness, solicitude, caring atmosphere, attention to detail. These are a few of the words and phrases I would use to describe my experience with Dr. DiSalvo and the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute. I am profoundly grateful that I am Dr. DiSalvo's patient. And by the way, there is free valet parking.

    Garner, Dr. James W.
He is an outstanding doctor. And his nursing staff is absolutely amazing. They even called me three time to check on how I was. He also does a thorough examination. In fact, my daughter had her gall bladder removed and she was having problems and they couldn't solve it. She went to Dr. garner and they solved the problem right there.

I've been using Middle Tennessee Medical Center since I was born and I'm 39 years old. The doctor that I see is so good and he's so friendly that when I'm in Wal-mart or anywhere he sees me and I don't see him, he'll come up behind me, tap me on my shoulder and "where are you going?"

    Murfreesboro Medical Clinic
I have been going to this clinic for about 6 years and really like the new building on Garrison. They have everything on site that one needs for a complete health care package. I feel comfortable with the doctor and staff.

This is a great office. All of the doctors and staff are great! All very friendly and really give things a personal touch! Can always get an appointment right away for a sick visit. Sometimes can take a while to get an appointment for a well check up, so I just always schedule early! This is a practice with multiple doctors, several of which only work part time hours. Although we cannot always see our primary doctor on sick visits I feel all of the doctors do a great job communicating what is going on with the patients, and our doctor is always up to speed.

They have a lot of capability on site with the ability to do x-rays, sonography, lab work, and some other testing capabilities. However, I think probably they take in too many patients and as a result, they seem overwhelmed even though they have a relatively large staff. Therefore, the wait time is long even though they have a sign up that says if you've been waiting longer than 30 minutes, come see us at the front desk. You have to pick the right day and the right time of day to go in there. Otherwise, you may have a fairly extensive wait.

    Beckman, Dr. Chris J.
I am a nervous wreck when I go to the doctor. I just hate it. So when I went for a GYN physical I expected the worst. Fortunately, Judy put me at ease and treated me with kindness and dignity. Also, I didn't leave there with any medications, which is a miracle in this day and time. I give my overall experience a B, though, for one reason: the paper "gown." I cannot think of a more embarrassing or dehumanizing way to sit in a doctor's office than in the paper napkin top and small, paper "blanket." It's already difficult being naked and poked and prodded by a stranger while you're reduced to a few numbers and a genetic make-up. Being made to endure it in that is beyond the pale. Also, the environmental costs far outweigh that of a laundry service. Overall, I think a lot of the comforting and reassuring Judy was doing wouldn't have been as necessary if I had at least been given a shred of cotton to wear.

The experience was good. He's a good doctor. You always have a good visit with him. He talks to you. He doesn't treat you like a number. He's very caring. He's very loyal. Just overall, he takes care of his patients. I've been going there for about 12 or 14 years. I would trade him for anybody else.
