I called the operator and discussed the service call. I put my tenant in touch with the operator, the work was scheduled, and I was called when the repair was suggested. Everything went well and my tenants are happy. It was also a painful lesson in educating my tenants to change the filter!

Our old Goodman heating and cooling system's refrigerant leak was becoming progressively worse. I got two quotes. Actually, when I presented my Lee home consultant with another company's proposal he reduced the price by approximately $200.00 and included a digital, programmable Trane WiFi Thermostat. My wife and I got a Trane, all inclusive, 3.5 Ton 16 SEER system which included the outdoor heat pump and the indoor air handler. The work was done quite professionally. The technicians did an excellent job. During the install, they discovered wiring that was not to code which presented a potential fire hazard. Although the additional wiring ended up increasing the total project cost, we are happy it was corrected.

Great! Wayne was so knowledgeable and professional. He even gave me tips for a couple of the tv console shelves. Also, my floor was uneven so one leg of the desk tipped. He make me some thin wedges until I could get a more permanent solution. Will ABSOLUTELY use them again!

Be wary! Mr Conkin installed an HVAC unit in our home in 2015. The unit is under warranty and is currently broken down. He originally offered to come on the morning of February 7th (great!), however by noon we realized he wasn't showing up. This was after we arranged to be at the home and waiting. We called and texted, after multiple attempts he said he would be there within an hour. He did not show up. Since then we have left multiple other phone calls texts and emails all to no response. We are unsure what is going on.

I did not receive a call from the serviceman to let me know he was on his way to my house, but he did arrive within the time frame indicated to me by Choice Home. The technician was very courteous and completed his work very quickly. When I started to use my debit card to pay him, he said he didnt accept cards. So I had to give him a check. It would have been helpful to know ahead of time about his policy regarding cards. In my case, it didnt affect me very much, but if I had been someone who didnt have funds in the bank to cover his fee, or if I hadnt had my checkbook, it would have created a problem. Also, I was not given a receipt for my payment or given a statement showing what work was done.

    Paschall Heating & Air
This is my second review in two years. Our furnace should probably be totally replaced, but in the meantime Paschall Heating & Air has once again offered prompt service in a time of need. Our furnace quit working on a Sunday evening. I contacted Paschall Heating & Air via their web site that night and they came out first thing on Monday morning and diagnosed the problem. The furnace is old, so the part had to be ordered and shipped, but it was replaced quickly two days later, just in time for some really cold weather. As always, it was a pleasure working with them.

Everything went smoothly. Everyone showed up when they said the would, the installation is clean with good attention to detail. The salesman was knowledgeable and patient, didn't try to up sale me and answered questions accurately. Allen's did the legwork for getting the energy star rebates from the utility company which was unexpected and appreciated. I went with a system with a two speed compressor which cost more but because the AC runs longer, the humidity is lower and my house is much more comfortable. They matched my best quote for comparable equipment.

    Choice Home Warranty
In summary, a nightmare. My first experience filing a claim (garbage disposal) was smooth and as expected. Subsequently I had a rash of home issues. Including water leak, clothes dryer and HVAC. The first horrific experience was with the plumbing. The technician sent was incompetent, unskilled and as I later learned not licensed as a plumber. Yet Choices relies on his assessment that a leaking copper pipe was due to corrosion. A licensed plumber that corrected his mistakes later said it was a result of wear caused by the pipe rubbing a hoist. Yet, Choices denied my claim and I paid the incompetent technician $230 for an emergency patch. There was no mechanism for challenging the denial without allowing further home damage. A third claim, clothes dryer resulted in my waiting within a 5 hour window on for the technician to call afterward to reschedule after I had taken off work. Then, he offered to bypass the assessment and just order the parts if Id pay him the $45 service charge soas to accommodate my inability to take off multiple days of work to meet him. He also complained that he wouldnt purchase parts until he had been paid because Choices was terrible about paying the technicians for parts and service. The last claim, HVAC has resulted in 2 no shows by the technician. I requested a different provider after the first but client service asked that I give them a second chance. Ultimately the company lost track of their technician because he would answer the companys office call to him. We now painfully await a second company that Choices has scheduled. Ive had a number of friends ask me about my experience as they are buying homes. I share a Consumer Reports article on Choices with them and tell them to RUN!

The technician showed me the picture he took of the leaky evaporative core, which I knew had been leaking. The extent of the leak was no worse than 2 1/2 years ago when another company installed about the same amount of refrigerant. The techinicain made the comment before installing the refrigerant it could all leak out immediately. What a coincidence!! After the tech left the system was not heating any better than when the tech came by to install the refrigerant. He also recommended to have the evaporative core replaced or have a new system installed. A couple of days later, I received a phone call from a sales rep wanting to come by and discuss pricing for a new system. I declined to discuss the matter with the rep. Had another company come by to install referigerant. It took 1 pound at a cost of $110.00 for a comparison in price. The system has been heating as it should for the past 5 weeks. Today, a company rep called to inform me that an inspection of the system was scheduled and they require at least a 72 hour cancellation to avoid a trip charge. I told the person when the tech came out to install refrigerant the tech inspected the system. The company rep was argumentative, claiming the tech "did not do a complete inspection." Oh really!! How could the tech find the problem without doing a complete inspection? I told the person to "purge" me from their customer data base. Would I hire these people again? Absoultely not. They are more interested in selling.

Obtained several estimates and Allen's Air Care was the best price for the equipment installed and other services needed. Mr. Steve Kirk was very professional and I never felt pressured into purchasing his equipment. Once I decided on Allen's they installed my new unit in a timely, professional, and caring manner. The installation foreman, Charlie was great as well as the entire installation crew. Very pleased with everything they did. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing their services.
