Richard got back with me promptly the next morning and made arrangements to come out to see the extent of the damage and provide me with an estimate on Wednesday afternoon. Richard called me back on Tuesday morning and said that after reviewing again the information I submitted and considering the nature of the job / type of work that would more than likely need to be done, advised me to utilize another service provider. He was honest, integrous and knowledgeable - expounding upon the wisdom he had gleaned from his decades in the business! He surmised that with the involvement of a large picture window such as mine, another type of expertise and a more permanent solution to my problem was required. Richard could have done like other service providers before him, did a band-aid type temporary fix and just taken my money. But instead, he did the honorable and righteous thing! He was more concerned with my problem being fixed and me getting the service I needed than a payment to his company for services rendered. In addition, he also took the time to provide me with extremely helpful homeowner tips of which I should be aware. Although, I wont be using Olde Town Interior Exterior Painting & Repair for this particular job, I will definitely utilize Richard and his team when I do have jobs that fall within the scope of services they perform. Thanks, Richard for being such a blessing! :-)

Great. Robert and his crew exceeded our expectations. Big job, 3 man crew worked 4.5 days. My wife said this was the first contractor we have had that started and finished with no problems. And quality of work was great. Didn't have to get anyone back to "finish" up those last details like one offer does. Saw their ratings on Angie list as why I called them.

Met with Donald and we walked the house, he took notes, gave me an estimate and we shook hands on the price.  When the weather got right, he showed up and he and his crew went to work.  It took less than 3 days for them to replace all the bad wood and paint the house.  The crew was very nice and they cleaned up after themselves.

These were subs that my "contractor" suggested and set up. They did my roof, which, so far so good on it, (other than the huge mess they left); and they did the siding which it seems okay so far as well. The drywall NOT SO MUCH!!! The drywall cost, just the drywall & labor was around $14K.

    Now the drywall......

THESE ARE THE MESSIEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER SEEN!!! TOTAL SLOBS!! I get that subs do the job and get out usually leaving somewhat of a mess behind, but what these guys left!!! OMG! Anyhow, that was handled, we cleaned it up, done. Now the walls look like heck. Unfortunately you couldn't see all this till the paint was on (well my "contractor" should have seen it and made them do it right but that's another story). In different lights you can see every seam on the wall, you can see the tape, top and bottom, the sheetrock screws, butt joints, the whole nine yards; and this is throughout the entire house!!

I called them on their poor work. Talked to who I assume is the owner, Doug. He told me that he would send a crew over there to fix it. He agreed that it was shotty work after seeing the photos I sent him. The crew arrived on Friday, on time. They checked it out, blamed the flat paint for their poor work (how is paint to blame for tape & screws showing through), noted and agreed it was bad and went to slapping on mud to fix it.

Now here I am assuming that WE WILL FIX THIS means you will fix the walls and paint them back the way they were, after all the painters did their job already, it was the crap work of the drywallers that was the problem, not the paint. Well, they proceed to slap mud everywhere and I ask "so who do I need to send the bill for repainting too or are yall going to do the repainting" at which point they told me "we aren't paying for it and we aren't fixing it" so I told them that I couldn't afford to repaint the entire house and they stopped working, gave me huge attitude, and left. They came back the next day and sanded it and I repainted it myself. The sanding job wasn't good and you can see all the mud underneath. It is so awful. It wasn't just the long walls in the house that were bad either. It is the super short walls in the bathroom and everywhere. You can see the seams throughout the entire house. It was a pathetic job! Hind sight is 20/20 and of course NOW everyone wants  to tell me "oh yeah I've heard they do bad work" too bad some of those people didn't post here and too bad I didn't go back behind my "contractor" and do some research on these people.

And for some people who may think otherwise, slander is different from facts based on experience especially when you have the photos and text messages to back it up so please don't get confused. Thank you.

Our experience with him was great.  We were so impressed with him and so we used him again.  His work was perfect.  Everything was well done and completed to our satisfaction.  He didn’t change the price.  He was here every day except when it rained.  He worked fast and efficiently.  There was nothing to redo.  Everything was just the way we wanted it.  He called and let me know if he would come or not depending on the rain and was upfront about everything.  He told me to let him know if there was something that was not right while he was working.

Richard is very good man who tore off my rotted siding and cut new boards and then painted my entire house. after he started tearing the rotted boards off he found a lot more rot and it took twice the time but didn't charge me any extra for labor. I agreed from the beginning to pay for all the material which was fair. his work was excellent and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a professional job. There is a lot of shady individuals out there who would come back and nickel and dime you for their work and run up the cost of the job but Richard Vanover did a lot of work FREE!

    Avery & Sons Home Improvement
Mr. Keith Avery and I got off to a rocky start. I had concerns about what I saw early in the process, which I called him about and documented with photos. He felt I was challenging him and became very defensive. No contractor should never speak to a client the way he spoke to me. In the end he promised the work would be A+ quality. That's all I wanted, the same level of quality I had perceived from the other reveiws. The 2nd day I was a lot happier with what I saw. I gave them their space to work and we didn't talk again until the job was done. It looks good now, overall. The painter did an excellent job. I had hoped for better cleanup of the site, however. There was debris left on the roof and scraped paint and lots of nails and small screws in the yard (I had to buy a large magnet bar and quot;sweeperand quot; to clean them up). I was told the rain would clean off the roof, but I feel it should have been swept off.
When Mr. Avery and I spoke again, we were on better terms.

    Aaron Painting & Construction
Aaron painting was very courteous, paid close attention to detail treated me and my house with respect. Our house is very old and needed to be prepped and painted correctly as it had not been done in years I am highly impressed with the outcome of not only my exterior but interior results. I highly recommend Aaron Painting, not only was their quotes some of the lowest but they were the nicest guys that were courteous and respectful. That's a big deal to me, I would never hire a rude person regardless of the cost!

Olde Town Interior Exterior Painting & Repair
Found Olde Town here on Angie's List and got an approximate quote from Richard. We scheduled a time to meet and discussed in depth about the type of exterior paint needed for our specific job/color. We are renovating an old building in Old Town Millington to be a snow cone and gift shop and so we picked a bright lime green. Richard spent some time researching the best paint to use and explained the differences to me. I decided to follow his suggestions and purchased my paint separately for him to use. Mainly since Sherwin Williams was having a huge sale on what I needed and Richard was honest that I could buy it cheaper from the sale than he could even get at a contractor's price.
Richard was very thorough and showed up with another worker as promised and painted the building all in one day. It was very hot outside and even our roofers shut down, but not Richard. He assured me that they would be just fine.
The work was neat and that building looks amazing. The building exterior is cinderblock so you can imagine how detailed he had to be in order to get in all the little uneven surfaces. We were so happy and would gladly use him again.
I plan on having him repaint the inside of my house in the near future.

    Caco Construction LLC

I needed a portion of fence replaced with a gate, 300 ft of fence raised, a concrete slab poured, rotten wood support posts replaced and a long gravel driveway resurfaced. The owner came out took measurements and said he would email or call with estimate. A week later I called because I had received no estimate. He said he would get that to me soon. Called a few days later. He said had been busy, but had just gotten the prices for materials and would email later that day. No email. I have since hired another company to do the work. The owner was very very nice and helpful with tips about other projects I wanted to do, but I got no response. Maybe there is a reason why he did not contact me, but I would have appreciated a call to let me know that he could not do the work. I would not have even commented on him because he was so nice, but I got an email from Angies List stating that users had requested feedback on this contractor.
