  • Baku Moving made sure all my valuables reach my new house in great shape. They certainly had the right tools and the correct attitude for the job. The movers were very punctual and their customer service was very promising as well. The quote I got initially was very low considering the other estimates given by different companies. The final bill came under the estimate which made me so happy. None of my things suffered a single scratch and I was very impressed. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

  • They were very accommodating and understanding to a couple schedule changes due to delays completing the sale of our home. They also worked with us to find the most inexpensive options. Lastly, once they arrived in the Knoxville area, they called with an option to keep the current delivery date or take delivery early. This worked out perfectly as we were able to sleep in our new home the same day as the closing. Highly recommend.

  • After the truck was packed, Eugene the driver of the van told us he would be at our home in Loudon, TN. on Wednesday December 16 in the morning.  We left the Sterling home on Monday afternoon and drove to Kingsport TN for our overnight stop.  On Tuesday we drove to our retirement home in Loudon, TN. and met with the builder to make sure the house would be ready for delivery of our household items the next day, December 16.
At 8 a.m. the next morning, Eugene called me to let me know he had picked up 2 new crew members in Knoxville and he would be at out home within the hour.  He pulled up with the truck at 9 a.m. and proceeded to direct the unloading of our goods.  The job was completed in 4 hours and we were in the house unpacking boxes by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  Eugene and his crew not only unloaded but also set up the beds and unloaded the garment boxes in the different room.
All items were packed and unpacked in a very professional manner.
It was a pleasure working with all the members of the Golden Rule Moving Company and I recommend this company highly.

  • We chose 4 men to try to get our things moved in one day. Only 3 guys showed up initially and the 4th guy showed up an hour late and then left for a couple of hours and came back at the end. They hit our gutter with their truck. It was obvious to us that they were not very knowledgeable or skilled on how to appropriately move furniture. They broke my daughter's dresser. After 8 hours they said that we would be charged an overtime rate, at this time we said no one ever discussed any overtime charges. After speaking to Sunny the office manager, he said since the paperwork was not filled out properly we would not be charged overtime. At that point the movers started quickly unloading the truck and left our belongings in our garage instead of taking them into the house like they were supposed to. After our things were left in our garage I tried to reach out to Jeff multiple times and multiple times I was told that someone would call me back, but no one returned my call. When I tried to call them back I was hung up on almost every time. The office secretary yelled at me and hung up on me. After my husband finally spoke to Jeff he said he was giving us a 5% discount. To me that does not compensate for the poor service we received, the damage to our belongings or how we were treated.

  • We went with them due to their good reviews. Leo came out and gave us a "binding estimate," whatever that is, and advised us about insurance and other aspects of the move. Based on our discussion, we sold and donated a number of items which lowered our "binding estimate." The foreman and a team of four other men worked long, hard and seamlessly to box, disassemble, pack and load. We've had movers on four previous occasions, and this crew completely wrapped furniture in plastic, tape and pads. We were impressed. Our belongings were stored over a Sunday and Monday. Tuesday, just as we completed closing on our new house, the foreman, Raphael texted me that they were already at the house. Not all went smoothly. After the move we did get a few nicks and scratches, but nothing major. The van backed into our mailbox, and they somehow failed to leave our step ladder. Leo saw to it that the mailbox and the ladder were replaced with new ones. Like I said earlier, this move was so much better than previous moves.

  • In terms of the loading process in Cincinnati, when they were bringing up items in the basement to load in their truck, they damaged the walls, ceiling and woodwork coming up from the lower level. They chose not to disclose it to us before they left for the day. I took pictures of it and submitted it on an e-mail on a Friday about 6 o’clock. I called every number I could find and was unable to get anyone to respond. We then had the walk-through on Sunday morning, so we had to adjust it immediately on our own. The damage also included, when Bell moved trucks in and out of the driveway, one of the trucks was leaking oil in which the loading crew carried in to the house. We repaired the damage ourselves. I then spoke with Bell on Monday and sent the bill for the damage to them. Said it was lost on the boss’s desk, followed up with them. They then claimed they lost the paper work and they also told me I submitted the wrong paper work. I had to re-submit it; it took them 60 days to repay the bill.

In terms of loading the truck for delivery down to here: there were two small wooden items, neither of which was packed in a box and both of which when the driver carried here, had broken pieces on them; the driver did tell us there. There were 2 items that the Bell personal, improperly moved and carried. I felt they had very unskilled work practices. There were leaves to the dining room table, which were very carefully wrapped by us in a blanket. When they were delivered, they obviously got very wet somewhere along the way. All 3 leaves showed heavy evidence of moisture damaged. There was also a wooden bookcase where they completely ripped the top shelf off of. There was an office desk that they disassembled prior to moving it out of a room and moving into the truck; there were some ripped pieces and the pieces were not put back together correctly. Joe was the driver and he appeared very irritated over the fact that we were going to check off every individual item; he said that he was on a time crunch. Also, one of crew members was repeatedly talking about how tired he was throughout the day.

  • Bob Hutson and his crew did an excellent job of moving us from TN to FL. The two ladies who did the packing were excellent and not a single item was broken during the move. They were very timely and thorough. We had to put our things in storage for two weeks before we moved them to FL and Bob helped direct us to a reputable local storage facility who took care of us. The crew worked very quickly during both loading and unloading. Communications were good and they were on time as scheduled. It was a pleasure to deal with a local business like this as you feel they are treating you like family. Would use them again without hesitation.
