  • As far as the company they referred us to, I wasn't pleased with as they still need to work on their business rules. Guy
    set up a time to come to our home to check it out and didn't call to say if they were short-manned or had a job that took longer than expected.  I had to call him and ask where he was as I took off work to get the job completed.  We reschedules and he showed up around the time promised, but came in and just replaced the ceiling fans instead of diagnosing to see if there was anything wrong with the ones we had issues with.  I wasn't home so my wife told me just came in, she explained to him what was going on and he changed them out and didn't really explain to her about our other ones instead of "they are done".  I'm not complaining that we have 2 new ceiling fans, I just wish he would have been more thorough in his job and explained everything.  I'll still give them a C-.

  • We had a warranty with AHS provided as part of closing on our home.  We have been dealing with A/C issues for nearly 4 months, and the out of pocket costs have been astronomical!  AHS dictates which repair company will come to service your unit, and then when it happens to be a problem that is "not covered" by the home warranty, you are stuck paying the prices that their dictated repair company charges (all of the diagnostics, etc. that have already been done)!  We originally had the HVAC company come to replace the evaporator coil after being told that is likely the cause of the leak, and were not told until the day they showed up that we would have $500 in out of pocket expenses.  No warning from AHS or the repair company.  When our unit continued to leak freon, we were forced to pay another $800 out of pocket for the diagnostic work that the same "dictated" company had done once it was determined that it was a non-covered cause (plus two $60 fees for the visits).  Again, we were not informed of the costs until the day they showed up to do the final repair (after they had been out multiple times over the previous week trying to diagnose the problem).  The utter lack of communication is unacceptable, in addition to having to use their designated companies that charge ridiculously high rates, means that the warranty is useless.  Having paid a total of $1400, having unreliable A/C all summer, and lack of communication on uncovered fees gets an F in my book.

  • They continue to change plans and what is covered, I have had the warranty on the same house for 6 years and another home 5 years, now they say the older warranty that I'm still on, (price has gone up every year, service call fees go up every year, coverage goes down), does not cover ice makers in a fridge, this was never an option in the past but on the new plans it is a add on service therefore the old plans no longer cover either.  It is bad enough that they take too long to respond, they take forever to follow up and approve the services needed now they will not honor legacy coverages.  The icing on this all was when I called in to cancel and the retention person would not listen to my issue just went into the script, when i interrupted her I was told that she would not put up with my disrespect!  I am done with AHS.

  • Replaced heater next day. Plumbers that installed the heater were friendly and professional. New water heater eer was the same as original.
