Upon contacting Rocky Ellison Masonry, Rocky provided us with a recommended solution to our paver issue and gave us an excellent estimate which we accepted. Rocky showed up promptly at the time of the appointment to provide the estimate and also to begin the work. Rocky's attention to detail is impeccable. Each step of the project was completed to a very high standard. We found Rocky to be fair, honest, and hard working. Given the excellent work by a true perfectionist, I'm absolutely certain that no one could have done a better job. I recommend Rocky Ellison Masonry very highly!

Seiber Restoration is fantastic! I have used them a few times on foundation projects for my real estate investments. They are professional, on time and preform the job above standards. They were always able to answer questions and gave me the understanding of the work that was to be completed. I look forward to hiring them again for future projects. Knoxville, TN

    Solid Masonry and Concrete Construction
We all make mistakes, Hiring this guy was one of mine ... Posting this as a public service: A rundown of my dealings with Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete Construction, 2950 Glenn RD Louisville, TN 37777 Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt pay for materials. When he quotes the job for 11 yards of concrete but uses 20 - Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt pay for materials. When he orders 4 yards of concrete he isnt ready for and you let him add it to what was supposed to be a 1 yard ramp to keep from wasting it - Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt pay for materials not even to split the costs for his mistake. When he has you buy rebar and keyway stakes for the same purpose then wastes the rebar using it for form stakes - Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt pay for materials but he does take most all of the extras rebar/keyway stakes I paid for. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete takes over 3 weeks to do what he said was a 3 day job. (rain only held him up a week at most) Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt bring his own tools and winds up using the homeowners Skilsaw, drills, tractor, level, shovels, rake. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt clean them up after he uses them either. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete quotes needing 15 tons of rock and I had to scrape out my driveway to get enough to get the job done even after ordering and using 24 tons. Now I have to order more to replace what WAS in my driveway. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt think mesh, fiber, rebar nor control joints are needed in a 40x20 slab. Of course he poured it 6-8 thick instead of the 4 we agreed on. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt follow directions on where to set a retaining wall causing there to be a gap at the top. Even after 30 minutes of explaining it. He didnt fix this gap even though he said he would. It also cuts down the useful size of my landing nearby. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete, even when given the manufacturers specs and installation instructions, subs someone that installs my trench drain incorrectly and screws holes into the drain permanently damaging the drain. He didnt feel he owed me anything for that either. After several minutes arguing with him he finally agreed to replace the sheet rock screws with stainless steel ones. I had to pay for. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete subs people that steal drinking glasses and doesnt get them back for you. subs - Willie and Chris. Even after being told they held sentimental value. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt understand the meaning of laying a drain in a straight line with 2 of fall. After 30 min of trying to explain this, even after using a visual aide to show the fall, he still didnt get it. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt think pouring concrete below 50 should be handled differently than pouring it when its warmer. Manufacturers and concrete associations say it should. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete doesnt understand the meaning of pouring a radius in a corner instead of making a 90 corner. Took 15 minutes of explaining and me finally just cutting out the plastic myself to show him after he hacked off the forms at an angle thinking that would do. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and concrete can't order concrete from several concrete companies because hes having legal issues with several of them. The homeowner has to order/talk to them about calcium chloride, slump, fiber, pressure, activator, etc. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete was late or didn't show more often than on time. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete leaves concrete splatter on walls, doors and retaining walls and expects the homeowner to rent a high pressure pressure washer to clean it off. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete leaves trash and construction debris at the jobsite. Rod Jackson with Solid Masonry and Concrete threatens a lawsuit and walks off the job if he isnt paid before he leaves once the final concrete is poured but not finished. Holding unfinished concrete like a hostage. He never returned to clean up or remove the forms and the concrete wasn't finished properly. DON'T be like me. Check references, take time to fully detail a contract and NEVER EVER make final payment until the job is DONE. Even if they walk off.

    Tucker's Masonry
Mr. Tucker is one unique individual! He is one of the most knowledgeable, courteous and honest tradesman I've ever met. He returned my calls promptly, he came out to look at my job when he said he would, he bid me a fair price, was up front with me about his 6 week backlog, and schooled me on the various ways to complete my repairs. He explained that he could do what I was asking, and it would look good for awhile. However, with the weather exposure on my project, it would be a short term fix that I would have to redo in a few years, and I'd be back in the same boat (and more importantly that I would be unhappy). In other words, he prevented me from wasting my money! He gave me several leads on how to get it done, and exactly what I should demand to get the job done right (strength of concrete, amount and placement of rebar etc.). He also gave me pointers on how to watch if the person I hire is cutting corners or not...something he was insistent that he does not do! I sure appreciated the time he gave me and the sage advice!

    Seiber Restoration, LLC
Excellent... Never would have imagined my crawl space could have been made so useable, on top of correcting the serious structural concerns. The demo work they performed was extensive and helped open up the entire house. The value added to my home and the peace of mind gained is worth every penny.

I had some repairs done on my deck and outdoor kitchen. I needed "spacing" between stacked stone filled with grout. The area was way more than I could handle with my DIY skills. The original contractor who re-installed the stone did a satisfactory job, but I didn't notice the "gaps" until well after that project was complete. I can see the concrete board in many areas which bothered me. Rocky showed up on time and finished (as scheduled). He left area cleaner than when he started. I paid more than I wanted too, but Rocky's price was in-line with other companies I contacted

    T Speed Masonry Co
I contacted someone, I made a deposit with them based on their continuing work should the house sale not go through. And now I have to chase them down and get my receipt, my deposit back. Because my house did go through, they did not want the masonry work, it was very difficult to find someone. So that's an aggravation. We agreed to do it and at the last minute I canceled and I agreed to pay for whatever materials they had bought but I needed the rest of the money back, and they have not gotten back to me. They're supposed to be excellent. They come from an old family. They're trying to get a school started. I don't' know what's going on with them but it's upsetting to me that I haven't gotten my deposit back. I very much like the man. I felt he was very competent. I was very relieved to find someone because I'd had a very difficult time getting someone to come to my house and do the work. The only problem is, my son-in-law said "don't give him a check until you do the work", and he shouldn't have cashed my check and he's not responding to my phone calls or messages to return the check. I would give him an "A" on what appeared to be his knowledge and capability. But on his business practices it was a "D." He was very good and knowledgable on the issues and we were able to work out when he would come to the house and look at it. Everything was good until his communication with me has been lousy. I don't think I'm going to get my refund. I can't reach him. Will not respond.

It was excellent work---however, the weather did not cooperate. It was raining and very cold. Not only did Mr. Ellison call----but he came back out to the house and explained to my husband why the delay. Now how many professional workmen would drive several miles in person to explain the delay. Finally, the weather cooperated and Mr. Ellison was prompt in arriving to do the masonry repair work. He arrived each day at the time he told me he would arrive, he was extremely polite and professional in his behavior, and he cleaned up the area each day before he left. Mr. Ellison was training a young man---who also was very polite. We were so pleased with the brick work, that we asked Mr. Ellison to build us a stone mailbox. He suggested that we put a solar light on top and now we have a cheerful light to welcome us home each night. I would highly recommend Mr. Ellison for any type of masonry repair or building any type of brick or stone work that you need done. Kippie and Tom Lowry

They agreed to help us budget the project by splitting it into two parts. The first part was the external repair, which they have completed. Very professional job. Looks great. We will call them to come back in a few weeks to finish the work on the interior of the chimney.

    Custom Renovations Co
As in times before, Mark and his crew at Custom Renovations, proved there are honest, professional, reasonable, and hardworking individuals. Messages, estimates, materials, and updates were all provided in a timely manner. The whole project went smoothly. I have an older home which desperately needed the mortar replaced and a chimney which was about to become an accident. Mark immediately saw the problem and his crew worked diligently to repair all. I can already tell a difference in the temperature of my home.
