    Both items returned to me not operational - it was obvious the work wasn't checked before equipment was returned to me. Riding mower had wrong size blade attached and was too big to turn. The second the blade was turned on it jammed into the mower deck and stalled the engine. When Mower Genius came back to the house to assess the problem, they couldn't figure it out in the driveway and took the mower back to the shop. The push mower didn't work either. It would start and then stall out. They took this back with them along with the rider. Many weeks the push mower sat at Mower Genius with e-mail updates advising this was a known issue and they were working with Honda. After calling asking for the mower back regardless of working condition, I brought it to Mayo Garden Center who is the local Honda service center and issue was resolved next day. In the end they refunded a portion of the money I spent on the push mower, and credited my account for the service charges while still charging me for the assessment fee they charge just to look at a machine. I was enticed by the quick turn around they offered, but found the quality of the work to be poor. Overall bad experience.

    After about two weeks it was ready. I was told they had replaced the carburetor and it would run like new. I paid $75.38. It started only once when I tried to use it so I took it back. Jim said it was common for mowers to have to come back in because they wouldn't start after coming into their shop and the carburetor was probably the problem. When I picked it up after their second "repair, they said they replaced the carburetor! They charged $81.34 for this second repair, even after Jim and I spoke at some length that this was not right. So they soaked me for $156.72 to get my mower running! And when I got it home and used it, it didn't run smoothly and the motor kept surging! Their workmanship proved to be very poor.

    They repaired the mower in a timely manner, and at my request, also did annual maintenance (sharpen blades, etc). Mower runs just like new! I appreciated the text when work was completed. Highly recommend Mower Genius.

    HUMPHREY'S SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
    After a frustrating 2 weeks of unsuccessfully trying to contact another shop listed on Angie's list I contacted Humphrey's and now wish I had started there. Linda was very helpful right from the start. She gave good information so that I could make a decision. Unfortunately it was just before Thanksgiving so they were behind and couldn't get to my mowers for 3 weeks but once they did they were on it and finished in a couple of days. Once they started I got regular updates and check ins to get permission to address the problems they found. The cost for 3 mowers was high but they did a great job fixing all of them, one I wasn't optimistic that a fix would be feasible but they did it. Bob was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. In each contact with Bob and Linda I felt like I knew them. They took a lot of time to explain and answer all my questions without pressure or rushing to get on to something else. Brad also was very friendly and professional at pick up and delivery. They were all the kind of people you'd like to have for neighbors and coworkers. The whole experience was good and a huge contrast to shops that don't even answer their phone. I hope I don't need service again soon but when I do Humphrey's will get my business.

    After vetting the businesses on Angie's list and other sources on the internet I decided on Mower Medic. I have 3 riding mowers that need work urgently and I needed information and estimates for pickup/delivery/turnaround time. I tried to call multiple times over a 2 week period at different times of the day but there was never an answer, only a forward to a voice mail. When I call a business I expect to get a real person within a couple of calls that I can talk to and ask questions when I'm able to call. I don't need a call back later when it's convenient for the business but I'm at work operating loud and dangerous equipment or attending to a customer. I found a very helpful business that answered all my questions on the spot and will be picking up my mowers to do the work but I lost 2 weeks and now it's Thanksgiving so I'll lose at least another week or more before I get them back; meanwhile leaves are piling up. How they get such a good rating is beyond me.

    Jim was wonderful! He came out and picked up our riding mower and loaded it himself on his trailer. He got the mower running like new. It wouldn't even start before. It works great now. He delivered it right when he said he would. He was very professional and timely with his calls and updates on his progress. He has our business for life! No one can go wrong using him to service your small engines.

    I located this person on Angie's list for my elderly mother. She said he is very professional and patient and helpful. The turnaround time on the repair was only one day (there was water in the engine). He threw in a free lawnmower blade sharpening. We felt the service was great and the price was fair. Thank you!

    Overall it went excellent. They called, they came, they picked up the tiller and took it back to their shop--they did charge extra for the transportation but I had no way to get it there anyways. My only thing was they said they would call to let me know about a time frame on the work but I never got the call and I ended up calling them about a week later to check in. Other then that, everything else was great.

    Hardin Valley Equipment use a computer based booking system for pick up and scheduling of your work. They provide updates via e mail so you always know what is going on, no need to keep hanging on the phone. All repairs and servicing were explained to me and the customer service is excellent. I can really recommend this company.

    Overall very satisfied with service. Final price was identical in what they quoted. The only comment I would make is that to go beyond normal customer service and would have cleaned oil residue around engine and deck.
