Furniture Refinishing reviews in Knoxville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Excellent! The table looks new again! They stripped it and restored the finish back to the true wood color. Surpassed what I thought could be possible. Not the cheapest around but not out of range either. You pay for what you get and the quality of their work is excellent. The price was in line with price quoted before job. Will be taking other pieces to them. Tom, who is owner or manager is quite knowledgeable and runs a top notch shop. Very pleased with result!

  • Beautiful job. We are very pleased with the quality of work and the outstanding service. Timely in pick up and delivery. I had been warned by friends it might take C & S a few weeks to finished but I would be pleased with the work. My only request to the table back before the holidays. I called in August and had it back in my home on the afternoon of August 25!

  • Emad Saah did an excellent job! My tables and kitchen cabinets look like they are new! He does high quality work and is very thorough. He had done work for me in the past and I knew I would be happy with the results if he came back for these new projects. He is good at coming up with ways to solve problems.

Delivery Men were very nice.

  • He worked with 3 different colors, focused on the details, and worked around my schedule a few times. This is the second time using him and I've been very pleased. There are not a lot of quality workers in the Knoxville area. Glad to know one of the few.

  • I took my furniture on two different occasions. The first time my chairs were not ready when promised because a difficult restoration took precedence. The second time my furniture was ready before the promised date. They suggested I call before the promise date, and I did that the second time.

  • Emad was personable and more than willing to answer all my questions as I winced through the process. I never should have worried, though. Watching this 2nd-generation refinisher at work was fascinating, and the job was done so well that I can do longer tell where the damage had been. Gorgeous work. I can't refer to the price, as the moving company paid for the service, but I would pay whatever this artist charges in order to have my Stickley furniture back in its original, flawless condition.

  • They were very good about being where they said they would be and being on time every day. The whole process was a lot less mess than I expected. Chris and Curtis did most of the work, and they were very polite and pleasant to have in the house. I had Chris match up a door I picked out a cabinet shop, and he nailed it. The whole project cost a LOT less than if I had replaced my cabinets with new ones, and it only took about a week. I had them come back to do both of the bathroom vanities in my house as well.

  • I actually bought an antique piece of furniture  from his wife, a cottage door and they delivered it, the two of them. He could see that I needed some help, he offered and I have been working with him for about nine or ten months. He is prompt, he is an honest man, I would highly recommend him because I feel comfortable with him and he had great experience.

  • Firstly, I think that the price was overly expensive, esp. for this area - 4th largest city in the state. The touch-up price seemed more in line with what was done. I picked this establishment through Angie's List, though the owner, Charlie, didn't seem to be aware of or impressed by Angie's List when I told him how I had found his business. It was also listed that he gives a senior discount but when I asked him about it, he said 'no' that he didn't and that I shouldn't believe everything that I read. The dresser was picked up 2/15/11 and I was told that it would be ready in 2 weeks. I also asked for a written estimate after reading comments by other customers. After 3 weeks, I called to ask about the staus of the dresser (no one had called me to say there would be a delay) and was told 'next week' by Charlie. At 5 weeks, 3/23/11, I called again and was told Charlie wasn't there that day and I left a message asking for him to call me. The next afternoon, I called back since I had not received a return call from Charlie. He said that the dresser's finish was difficult to match and the burn marks difficult to get out. We set a delivery date of 4/1/11 and they did deliver on that date - over six weeks from the pick-up date. Tom, the delivery person, took my credit card to his truck to call in the number. I didn't like my credit card going out of my sight. I had asked Charlie on 3/24/11 about how much he thought the price would come to and he said about $500. so I was surprised when the price came to $700. - just the estimated price they had set in the first place. The workmanship on the dresser was quite good and we were very satisfied as well as with the other refinisher, Emad, who came 3 days later to touch up the other pieces of the set. When making the date with Emad, he neglected to tell me that there was a minimum of $100. service charge. I had asked Emad to come out and to give us an estimate - no mention of a minimum was mentioned. The white-wash paint was a good match. Would we use C&S Refinishing again? I answered 'yes' reluctently - Angie's List should give the option of 'maybe.' I would want to look and ask around before using this company again because of its lack of professional customer service and pricing. We'll have to wait and see if the refinishing holds up over time. I also contacted the BBB about C&S and their Reliability Report showed no complaints.
