    Job was supposed to be a completed in a week. Three weeks later nothing was complete and business owner, Eddie Bittle, never came to the job site as promised. The deck replacement was terrible with nails sticking out, corners not matching, pickets not level, and all banisters wobbly. His crew came when they were told to and they would get calls from Bittle or his foreman to go to another site. I know this because it happened a few times I was outside when it happened. They left old decking boards and new decking boards on the patio for ten days and I ended up stepping on a rusty nail which went into my foot. I sought medical treatment and Bittle never offered to repay me for my medical treatment. And, as I recall, never apologized for it either. They did come pick up the decking the next day. They would not show up for days at a time while I waited at home for them. Never a call from them. Later, when we called a meeting with Bittle, he stated they were building other decks, from 5-8 of them while mine stood unfinished. Let alone the other work they had not started yet. Who wants to hear about other work they completed while your own sits unfinished? At this meeting Bittle said he was lied to by his crew about the work being finished, that someone was going to be fired. Take responsibility for what you, Bittle, did wrong. Don't treat your crew so poorly and threaten them when you knew this job was not complete. At this meeting Bittle brought vinyl siding with him to discuss starting that repair. If he felt all the work was complete, why would he bring more material for the home repair, why did they not bill me during the two weeks they were supposedly finished? Why did he not come check the end product? Because he was doing work for other people. For the elderly, where he gets most of his referrals. Well, guess who also got his name from the same elderly referral service? We did, and he forgot that. And, yes, I have discussed this situation with the referral service. The E-N-J crew did come back and remove the deck, banisters, and steps and rebuilt the deck again. Someone from their company did came back and inspect it, added some bolts to secure the posts and left an invoice in the middle of my driveway. I paid the invoice, which covered the final repair and Bittle paid for the first attempt at a repair, which was the right thing for him to do. Good luck to you if you choose to hire them. I would not recommend it.

    A++ Handyman Services
    The water heater replacement took 9 hours and should not have taken more than 3 at the very most. He asked if he could replace one step the he felt was dangerous and then completely rebuilt the entire staircase without my permission and painted it without asking what color I would be vinyl siding the house with and charged me for it. He put large holes in my siding and interior walls and ceiling unnecessarily because he didnt want to go up in the attic or under the house. Every single bit of plumbing he did had to be redone. He cost me an extra $4000 in labor and materials by not knowing how to plumb correctly and tearing my house apart. He does not send pictures as hes doing his job or communicate to find out if what hes doing is what is wanted. He is far too expensive for his speed and abilities as a handyman. He is physically incapable for heavy work, climbing or crawling. It took him 800 lbs of Quikrete he charged me for to build one 4 high step I did not ask for. Even though I asked him to text me when he arrived and work and left from the job each day and send daily pictures of progress he would not do it. I found out later it was because he didnt want me to see what he was doing. He finished nothing and tore my house apart and wanted to charge me over $3000. He charges by the hour and takes 3-4 times longer than others and does things you dont want done. After firing him I hired another handyman from Angies List who had to repair all the plumbing and unnecessary demolition Gary did.

    Mr. Handyman of West Knoxville
    I had some work in 2 bathrooms done. From new vanities to mirrors and lighting, toilets, a shower and flooring. Zack and Brian did an outstanding job. Then I had some work done in my kitchen and a ramp removed and Walker steps added in. Yancy and Greg did an excellent job. Scott oversaw all the work done, went shopping with me, made suggestions and advised. I could not have found a better team to work on my home if I tried. Friendly, professional and great sense of humors. On time, in a clearly marked vans, wearing shirts with the company logo, so you know who they are when they arrive. The estimates were given in advance and everything was explained, so I understood what was happening, and when it was happening. I absolutely loved my teams, and so did my dog Chloe Belle!! I will call on them again for any work I need done, without hesitation!!! Teresa Brown Knoxville

    The Home Repair Group
    Very well. Not only does the finished deck look very good, Danny and his crew worked through brutally cold weather to assure that it was finished promptly. This is the second time I've hired this company to do work at my house, and both times I found them to be hard working and very responsive. I was impressed by their willingness to work on days when the weather made that very difficult. Danny does a good job of explaining what needs to be done and why, and he listened to what I wanted and gave me a deck that exceeded my expectations in terms of the appearance and quality of the work. I will definitely us them again when I need home repairs/improvements in the future. In addition to the deck, they did some preventative maintenance on the roof of my sunroom, added insulation to my attic, and helped me with minor issues involving a shower head and my dishwasher. I was pleased with all that work as well.

    Smoky Mountain Deck Builders LLC
    Our experience with the Smoky Mountain Deck Builders has left us with an awesome finished product and many compliments from our family and friends. We met with Nick and told him our ideas. He took notes and then added some great suggestions. We wanted a fire pit in the middle and he worked with us on that. The Trex boards were put in at diagonals to the frame and borders. He helped us match the inlaid tiles under the fire pit area to an adjacent patio. Our old deck was 2 steps down from the patio. Nick and his crew were able to design a totally new deck that was raised up so that it was at the same level as the adjacent patio and even increased the total deck size. We had an iron railing that needed to be matched to make this all work so they had someone fabricate the new pieces. They even had someone design and build a door and a box under the Trex boards by our water faucet to hide our small hose. Everything came out like a perfect puzzle with every element matching and looking top notch!!!

    We completely replaced our old useless backporch with a 24' x 22' porch that is more of a pavilion now that it is completed. We needed screens installed on in large openings and sought recommendations from trusted friends. Once recommend Steve at Screens of East Tennessee. We are completely satisfied with the results and the path to get there. Steve was always punctual for every single meeting. He came out and discussed the various options and provided a written quote. We obtained some other quotes, also from recommended providers but Steve was the one that seemed to be able to answer all our questions without having to go to someone else first. He left samples for us to review and when we asked for more samples (because we had some challenges with the porch construction) he willingly dropped those off quickly. The challenges caused over two months delay between when we originally thought we'd install the screens and when we could actually be ready for them. Steve remained flexible throughout this whole ordeal. Then when we were ready and trying to get it all done before our daughter's Sweet 16 party on the porch, he made sure it was all done on time. He is a one man show which makes his professionalism, punctuality, quality and workmanship all the more remarkable. How he juggles so much is beyond me. We love our screens and they are everything he said they would be. They are holding up well and look great! If we ever need any screens again, we will not need to shop around! We'll go straight to Steve!

    The Crew of Smokey Mountain did an amazing job, Jeremy, Richard, Mike, Aaron, Gina. Professional, On Time, Customer satisfaction driven. The line of work isn't easy and it takes true craftsmen to build. The transformation of our space is truly awesome. I would and have already recommended to others I know in the market for similar work. The process from start to finish was easy, as planned and expected.

    Paisley Design Company
    I contracted with Paisley Design Company to build a sunroom, two decks using Trex Decking and some landscaping including bock retaining walls and flagstone paths and patio. Was provided a contract that indicated the project would be completed in 5 weeks. We are now into week 11 and the project is not completed. In addition, of what has been completed, the decks will need to be partially removed and replaced since the Trex product was installed incorrectly and not to required standards and the siding on the sunroom will have to be remove and reinstalled as it was not properly installed as well. I have tried to work with Paisley Design to resolve these issues and have patiently waited for work to continue, but to avail. I would not recommend their services to anyone.
