Gutter Repair reviews in Johnson City

I went through Lowe's for this job and they contracted Erwin Aluminum to do the work. 2 weeks after my 1-year warranty ended with Lowe's, I had my gutters cleaned and was told that there was some water in one end of the gutters above my garage. I called Lowe's and they refused to touch it because my 1 year warranty was up. I called Erwin Aluminum, who were the installers, and explained to them that Lowe's would not help me and they came right our and fixed the problem. I was very impressed because they did not have to do that. Now I recommend Erwin Aluminum to anyone who needs gutter work done. I've even used them a second time to repair a leaky seam in my gutters on the back of the house. They really know what they are doing and are such nice people.

This was the third time we have used this company and again we were very satisfied. The workers were efficient, did an excellent job, and cleaned up every bit of the mess and hauled it away the same day. We highly recommend them for roofing jobs.

It went quite well. I particularly liked that we could make decisions about different approaches, as well as price and materials as we went along. The projects went very well and the work was excellent. Tyrone also seems to have a network of fellow specialists to call on who do concrete, gutters, electrical, etc. We paid weekly and I felt the project and costs were under control and could expand or contract as I needed. I would hire them again (and probably will).

Did an amazing job replacing our gutters (they were literally falling apart) on the back long side of our house. The whole side of the house looks practically brand new! Would absolutely recommend for any gutter/drain issues.

Owner Tyrone Mitchell was prompt and professional.  He had good suggestions and offered me options in different price ranges, which I appreciated.  He strikes me as an intelligent, honest individual who understands building design and construction from top to bottom.
Unfortunately, it was not Tyrone who performed the work.  His employees and the roofing subcontractors were careless pigs who damaged my property and left so much trash and building debris (which I had been assured by Tyrone would be completely removed) that 3 months after the completion of the job, I'm still picking it out!  So far I have found 55-60 nails, lots of cigarette butts (many cleverly buried in the flower beds), candy wrappers, used Band-Aids & gauze, orange roofing washers, old shingles, discarded ends of new wooden beams, and countless sharp pieces of aluminum.
For years I have treasured the rich soil beneath mature shrubs in my flower beds surrounding the house.  That precious humus is now contaminated with so much crap that I can no longer safely use it to enrich my vegetable gardens.  I can not walk barefoot in the yard, nor can I allow my 2 dogs to play without wondering if one of us will unknowingly step on some dangerous object hidden in the grass.
The glass is what's left of my former front porch light, which the workmen broke and then said nothing about.  When I noticed it, I told Tyrone, who reimbursed me for a new light fixture, which I made a special trip across town to pick up; he installed it at no extra cost.  Rather than removing sawdust, nails and other building debris from the front porch, it appears that his hired pigs simply swept it and the smaller pieces of broken glass into my mulched flower beds.  I've removed all the glass I could find, but from now on I'll have to wear gardening gloves (which I detest).
Then there was the damage inflicted on my >25 year old specimen shrub next to the front porch.  I had to prune at least 10 years' worth of broken branches from what used to be a beautiful Kalmia latifolia.  Although Tyrone knocked off $100 for the damage, I can't buy another mature plant for that.  Something that size can't be easily transplanted anyway.  Honestly, I feel sick every time I pull into my driveway and see the puny, lop-sided thing on display.
I would assume that whatever falling object crushed the shrub is what also chipped my front  porch.  Although it was not a showpiece before the work, the porch was so scratched and gouged afterward that I had to repaint it.  That's when I noticed that the edge of the concrete next to the shrub had a chunk broken off.
Bottom line:  I feel that Tyrone delegated too much to employees who lack his commitment to quality and who seem to be unconcerned about damaging other people's property.  And although I am pleased with the appearance of my house, the overall experience was quite disappointing.

Excellent! Depew Guttering is Excellent. Best price, of several estimates, by far. Also did an excellent Job on the install. I got Mr. Mike Depew's name from several friends recommendations. He is very busy, but got in touch with me within a day or two. Set up time for estimate. He answered all my questions, made recommendations. I had all very Old gutters removed, and upgraded to 6 inch aluminum gutters. Also added an extra downspout that had not been on my little back porch before. (And the previous old gutters, on back porch had caused a lot of Rot, that had to be replaced by Construction Contractor First. I also was getting a new Roof installed, and Mr. Depew advised should get roof done first to prevent any dents, displacement, etc..
After I got my new roof, called Mike Depew back, and told him no hurry, as he was very busy, but got my gutters installed at My Convenience. He sent 3 very nice gentlemen, who very professional, and did outstanding job, removed my old gutters, and replaced with my new (upgraded to 6") aluminum gutters and downspouts. The crew was excellent, cleaned up everything, and I must say the new gutters absolutely Look aesthetically beautiful! Just regular white ones, but even though my old ones had been pressure washed, the new ones look just amazing! I could not be More pleased with the Product itself, and also the price, and the Job done on my house..Very, Very Happy..IF you need gutters, with expert installation, and very Professional service, call Mike Depew! Leonard Roofing,LLC  is THE ONLY "GAF Master Elite" Certified Roofing Contractor within at Least 80 mile radius of my home, in Gray, TN. They also are Certified Installers of many other brands of Shingles. Certified from the Shingle Companies, require Training and extra costs for the Roofing Contractors to assure the Highest Standards, and to receive a Truly Register-able Warranty, that is worth more than a piece of paper. If you cannot get your warranty registered with the Shingle manufacturer, Your so-called Warranty, Means Nothing.
I could Not Be More Pleased than doing business with this Company! You Will Never Regret Choosing this company over ALL  the others, for your Roof.
Mr. Dennis Leonard, did my Roofing estimate. I had already had nearly every ( A rated Roofing Contractor on Angie's List) within a 40 mile radius, Give me estimates, in the last Year Prior to hiring Leonard Roofing, LLC. I did extensive research online about Replacing an Old Roof. I was Shocked how many people in the Tri-Cities Area, write Glowing  "A "(reviews on Angie's List) for the Cheapest, Roofing Contractors,  who install a SubPar, even Poor Product. The Roof is the Most Important Structure of One's Home. Evidently This area, gives the Best Reviews to the Lowest Cost/done in One Day Contractors, instead of Choosing QUALITY, or doing any checking  on the Product being put on their Roofs. I had lower estimates, from A Rated Contractors, with the Highest Reviews, who were installing a POOR Product. Horribly Rated and Reviewed Cheap Shingles, 15 lb Felt Underlayment, and No quality warranty. (that can be actually Registered with the Shingle Manufacturer).

Some questions that are Important. "How Many Nails per shingle?" "Which Shingle Installed?"
"Which Underlayment?" "Does your estimate include 'DRIP EDGE'?...If you think you Don't need "Drip Edge", just Google it, and look at the National Association Of Roofing Contractors STANDARDS, and WHY they have these standards. If  you are doing a "flip house" and don't care if your roof passes a Home Inspection, Hire One of the Other (HIGHLY RATED, GLOWING Angie's List Reviews) that do the cheapest work, and you will wind up replacing your Roof again, or repairing leaks in No time at all. I Did my Homework BEFORE Hiring. I educated myself about Quality, also Calling GAF (shingle company direct) and asked many Questions, including about Their 50 Year Warranty. The GAF Timberline Shingles are the Highest Rated in all of the U.S.. Yes, Better than Owens-Corning. Call the Shingle Manufacturers and Check the Requirements of Getting their Warranties REGISTERED. A Piece of paper is No Good, if Your Warranty Cannot Be REGISTERED with the Shingle Manufacturer!! If you are not getting 6 nails per shingle, your shingles will not withstand high winds, period. If you get a terrible quality shingle, you are really asking for problems and costly Repairs later. Want it Done RIGHT, THE FIRST TIME??? Leonard Roofing!

I had Highly Rated Contractors, from Here on Angie's List,  trying to sell me 15 lb felt underlayment, and No Drip Edge, with the Premium GAF Shingles. If you get a high wind, bad storm, the Drip Edge is what Protects the Wood underneath the shingles from Rotting, and the Underlayment is of Great Importance!! The Superior synthetic underlayments made now, will actually seal your Roof from Leaks for up to 6 Months, if a Shingle Fails, or blows off, cracks, etc...Who in their Right Mind would want 15 lb Felt under Premium Shingles? No One, who wants Quality, or a Long Life of a Roof System, with No COSTLY Leaks. Your Roofing Installers make All The Difference in the World, as to the Quality of your Roof, it is not all about just the Shingle..My previous roof did Not have Drip Edge installed, and the shingles cracked and rotted over the gutters.  But more important, I had a great deal of Wood Rotted out underneath the Shingles and Felt underlayment, All Along All 4 Edges of my Home. Leonard Roofing, tore off all the old shingles, nails, felt and bad wood, and replaced with New Wood before the new Roofing System was Installed, by these Quality Professionals.

Only a "GAF CERTIFIED" or "GAF MASTER ELITE" Roofing Contractor Can Give You the 50 Year REGISTERED Warranty.  No Other Roofer can give you that Warranty, only Ten Years warranty, on the Same Premium Shingle, if Not Installed by a GAF Trained Roofing Contractor. If you don't believe me, Call GAF yourself. I had Many, Many, estimates who Misrepresented this to me, and they will to You too, to get your Business. They will Lie Right to you, as they tell you of their 50 year warranty, that is only Really 10 years, through the shingle Company, IF registered with them at all by the "roofing Contractor" you hire.

GAF is the Largest manufacturer of Shingles in North America, and has been in business since the 1800's . The "GAF Certified" is the least GAF Training Certification to qualify for their 50 Year Warranty. The  "GAF MASTER ELITE Roofing  Contractors" have had much more extensive training from the shingle manufacturer themselves. Yes, the Roofing Contractors have to PAY MORE THEMSELVES For this Training. So, of course their labor may not be as Cheap as a few of the Lesser Trained Roofing Contractors or 'fly-by-night' people out there Conning You, and Lying to you about the Inferior Product and Inferior Installation, and INFERIOR WARRANTY you Will Receive from the Shingle Co. If You Hire Them...

Again, LEONARD ROOFING IS THE ONLY "GAF MASTER ELITE" Roofing Contractor within at least an 80 Mile Radius of the Tri-Cities. And boy, does it Show in their Work, Professionalism, Installation, and Final Product!!!!

If You QUALITY at a Very Affordable price, with the Best Warranty in The Business, You Want to Contact Dennis Leonard, and Hire This Company for your Most Important Structure On Your Home. I can Not Stress to you enough, how much you need to educate yourself, on Roofing Systems, before You Hire one of These (All "A", Highly Rated, Glowing Reviews, on Angie's list) Contractors. I can only suggest, in addition to offering Inferior products, they are also Using the Least Trained, Cheapest Labor they can Find...If you Don't Care about the QUALITY of Your Roof, go with one of those cheap guys.. You Will Be Sorry, just give it a few years...

If you Care about the Quality of Your Roof, and all its components, and the Quality & Training of your Installers, Including your Warranty being truly Worth Anything, I Highly Recommend You Hire Leonard Roofing, LLC. You Won't be Disappointed.

Dennis Leonard is a very Honest, Professional, Trustworthy, and Honorable man to do business with. I never got to meet his brother, but this is a First Rate Quality Company, you can Truly Trust.
By The Way, The New ROOF IS GORGEOUS, As Well!!

The salesman spent a lot of time with us.He was very personable.  Gave us a price we thought was too high and then proceeded to bring it down quite a bit by giving us all kinds of discounts, some seemed a little far fetched but it did bring the price down to our price range and we signed a contract.  we then checked on Angie's List as he said they were rated Number 1 and found out a whole different story.  We canceled the contract immediately.  Glad we had an Angie's List to check

Of the three roofing companies that we got quotes from, Weather Tamer was the most professional, and the least expensive BY FAR. They showed up exactly when they said they would to give us the quote and the discuss the quote with us. We paid a deposit in October and knew it would be 6-8 weeks until they could start. They called us before Thanksgiving and said they were running behind due to weather. However, we didn't hear from them again until we called them in January. There were still weather problems, so the project was delayed until late January. I had to call several times to get information about when they would start, they weren't very good about communicating. They also didn't show up on at least three occasions when they said they would come to measure the roof so that they could order materials. Other contractors told us that the old slats wouldn't be usable because even if they were in good shape, they weren't evenly spaced, so the screws wouldn't be in the right place. When we told Mike (owner of Weather Tamer) this before we hired them, he said it wouldn't be a problem. However, as soon as they started removing the old roof, we were informed that they couldn't use the old slats and would have to lay OSB over the entire roof, increasing our cost by $1,800. This was very frustrating because it seemed like they either deceived us or didn't know what they were talking about. They only charged us their exact cost for the OSB and increased labor, though, we we appreciated. The rest of the job went smoothly and our new roof looks good. Our neighbors are raving about how good it looks.

Tim is so nice to work with. He is so professional and pays attention to the details. I don't have to worry that corners will be cut.
Landscape Impressions also did landscaping around our house last summer. It was a humongous job because the beds were totally out of control. We are planning to hire Tim again in the spring to build a custom carport.
