For Christmas, my husband and I had decided to get a television stand to support our flat screen TV, rather than mount it on the wall.  We settled on a beautiful, wooden stand with beveled glass door panels at Ashley.  This was not a piece where you would assemble it at home.  It was "pre-made" and packed and shipped in a carton.

Once we paid for this piece of furniture, we had to go and pick it up at their storage facility.  A heavy piece, we were glad when we got it home and carried into our house.  Unpacking it, we found that a corner of the piece had been significantly damaged, even though the box and shipping material itself was not damaged.  Apparently the stand had been that way when it was packaged, and shipped anyway.

We went back to the store, to be told that we would need to lift it and bring it back to get our money returned.  We had trouble with it packaged in the carton . . . now we didn't even have a box to use.  They had no option for picking it up themselves.  I then talked to the manager, who said that they had just instilled a plan, that for $25 they would "guarantee" a delivery, inspection and return if the item was damaged in any way.  They did give us this service for free, which we were very thankful for.  A very nice stand was delivered and the old stand was taken, and we were happy.

However, we tried, once again, to get two bookshelves from them.  But I made sure to inspect them thoroughly before we put them into the truck to take home.  The backs of the pieces were chipped and faulty, so we denied them, and had to go back and get our money back.  I don't think I'll ever go back to Ashley.  Its just not worth it.

He was prompt, professional, friendly.  At the time that he came out, I also had a dishwasher rack that was sticking and asked him if it was something he could do as well.  He said yes, ordered the part and it was done with no problem.

The outdoor kitchen was built, and their products (grill and grill hood) were installed by our construction people. When the fall weather came a few months later, and we first used the grill and hood, we quickly noted that the hood did not remove most of the smoke from grilling. Coffman's sent a service person out, and he realized from the first evaluation that the hood they sold us was too small, and needed to be at least 7 inches deeper. They told us that the industry standard was for the hood size to equal or exceed the cooing surface area of the grill. They informed us that ours was the second such outdoor kitchen purchase, and they had the same issue with their first customer, and added that they were "new in the outdoor kitchen product business." We depended on their expertise, and as consumers we were unaware of proper hood sizes. We bought the prduct and size they recommended. We asked them to replace it with the right size, but they wanted us to pay the difference, which would be $2000. plus labor costs. Their argument was that we would have had to pay that much if the proper size was recommended from the beginning, which is infuriating since there is no way would have spent that much given the price from the outset. We had options, if given the right procuct/cost recommendations from the beginning, including a different kitchen deisgn, grill placement, grill size, or less expensive grill and hood, or even a different hood exhaust route. By the time theiur mistake was realized, it was too late to make any reasonable redesign. Despite multiple visits to our house from Coffman's and the hood distributor, and discussion with multiple service people at Coffman's, and evaluation by contractors on a way to reroute the hood vent, no solution could be found that was reasonable, and Coffman's refuses to correct the error they admitted that they made, leaving our only option to pay the cost difference of $1500. (they reduced our price difference by $500.) and for us to pay for the labor for removal of old and reinstallation of new, minus $100.
