    Cape Fear Flooring and Restoration
    Nearly everyone will take the time to complain or write a bad review, but my wife and I just want to take a moment to say thank you and to recognize Cape Fear Flooring & Restoration, who were lifesavers when we had a hot water pipe blow out of the wall below the vanity in one of our bathrooms about 3 PM on a Monday. It flooded both bathrooms and sent water down into the HVAC duct, out into the hallway, as well as under the wall and into the den...and, we have hardwood floors! They were highly recommended by our plumber David, and after a quick call from myself and our plumber, Lisa was at our house before David even left from fixing the pipe! Her water remediation crew was on-site within the hour, which was nearly an hour before the contractor recommended by our homeowner's insurance arrived, (who was called before Lisa)! Never having done this before, we took a leap of faith and chose Cape Fear over the other contractor and they immediately began the arduous task of water remediation and demolition, which included detailed documentation and extensive photographs of all phases of work for us and our insurance company. (The other contractor may have taken days to get to us). Cape Fear?s crew: Sara, Jeff, and Lawrence worked tirelessly into the night, but gave thought to our 'livability' as well, making sure we had a usable toilet and shower. That kind of thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. Their quick actions and water remediation efforts saved our hardwood floors too! Cape Fear has been with us every step of the way, and is doing the restoration work as well. Their documentation and estimates were accepted by our insurance immediately, and checks were issued quickly, no doubt due to their excellent documentation and previous work with our insurance company. Lisa, our Project Manager has been wonderful to work with throughout the whole ordeal. I couldn?t ask for anyone better. If you experience a disaster, epic or minor, we cannot recommend anyone higher than the folks at Cape Fear Flooring & Restoration! Thank you Cape Fear Flooring!

    Rapid Response Restoration
    He constantly had his people go above and beyond to make sure everything in the entire room matched up- meaning he didn't just do the affected area. he painted the entire room's moldings, he cleaned the entire room's tile, he made sure the seals were redone in the bathroom. He was a true professional. Especially is how careful he was in getting all the details needed for the estimate for our insurance company and for us. We had 3 different companies come out, including Servpro and they couldn't even get all their estimates from one person to give me a full estimate. Rapid Response gives you a complete and full estimate and he deals with the other contractors, not you. So you don't have any other headaches to deal with. It was a breeze dealing with Rapid Response! I recommend them to anyone who needs anything done with water cleanup!

    Deaton's Carpet One Floor & Home
    During the tornado they had everything I needed. They had hard wood floors and carpet, and the tile I needed. They also have beautiful oriental rugs. They had everything I needed for my house.  They can come back and clean your carpets. They’re really good about helping you and they’ll order what you need if they don’t have it. They’re so friendly and nice. I’ve never had any problems with them.  You get what you pay for and more. He is a good Christian man.

    All Care Home Repair
    I started out with a great experience with this company. They were quick to response and came out and did the work and it was great. The next experience wasn't so good and it was downhill from there. I tried on 4 different occasions to get a quote for a fence. They came and measured but never sent me a quote. I ended up going with another company as I had told them this was a top priority as I do have dogs and needed them secure outside while I work. Well I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and since I had already talked to them about the kitchen floor and gotten a price- set up to do this (fyi I got them to to measure the same time I got them to measure for the fence). After several texts set up a date and took a vacation day to get this done. I made arrangements to board my dogs at the vet so they would not be in the way. they were suppose to be there at 9 so at 9:30 I text to find out where they were. they were on their way- to remeasure and then were going to pick up the vinyl. I was a little surprised since I had given the the info on the vinyl and they had the measurements but hey they were being thorough so that is fine. 45 minutes later they came and measured and left to pick up the vinyl. A little while later I got a call from them that his children were sick and he had to get them from school. He had no one else to lay the vinyl; his helper wasn't experience enough. He said he made arrangements with someone he trusted to do this. He said it would be the same as I was quoted from him. He also said he would give me a 10% discount on my next service for the trouble. Since his children were sick I said that would be fine and he said he did this because he knew I took a vacation day to get it done. The gentleman who came finally arrived after 1 pm to get started. I will say that the gentleman did a great job with the installation- however I ended up paying around $200 more as I had to buy the glue to put the vinyl down, the liquid nails to put the transitions down, few small items and the quarter round. The original quote was for just the vinyl and the labor. They were taking care of the quarter round and the supplies. I let All Care know this the next day.
    I have since tried many times to get quotes on siding for my house for All Care- I have emailed them and texted them. They replied they would get with me but nothing. This has been for the past three weeks. I understand that business may be busy but customer service is also important. I am a single woman who was looking for a reliable company to help me do repair work around my house. The offer of the 10% discount for the inconvenience of the flooring does me no good if they do not get back with me. I have several projects in addition to the siding that need to be done. So I not only paid more than I was quoted on the flooring it appears I will never get a project with my discount. I am very disappointed in this companies customer service.
    I am not questioning the quality of their work as the roofing they did for me was great and the replacement they got for me to do the floor was also great. I know others on here also had great quality from them. I am however commenting on the customer service and the fact that I was overcharged for my floor and never given the chance for the discount that they offered

    Rapid Response Restoration

    We chose this company on the recommendation provided by this website. They did not live up to their recommendation. In retrospect, we should have demanded a more in depth breakdown of their proposal prior to letting them proceed with the work. We considered changing contractors midstream but that seemed like it could have been even more stressul due to legal fees and time lost. There were a lot of problems.

    Update: Electrical problems have come to light that were caused by the electrician that RRR subcontracted to do the work.





    Update: It has come to our attention that Cathey's Heat and Air who was hired by RRR  to provide and install the new heat and air  never turned in the warranty registration for the system and neither did RRR. They each blamed the other for being at fault. This could cost me thousands in the future because instead of having a 10 year warranty I will had a 2 year warranty. It has already cost me several hundred dollars.

    I had an issue with a kitchen floor that needed to be replaced, and so I got a few quotes from various individuals. Since the house belongs to my dad, he wanted to pay for it, and try running it through  his insurance. Unfortunately, my father is one of these people who likes to hire "independent" contractors to do the job, as they work cheaper. Thus was the case with Denny Jones, who said he would do the job for $200 cheaper. As I was not paying for the work (my dad was), I went along with this.
    My first red flags went up when he started trying to pull the old floor up (something the previous contractors said would "have" to be done), and stated that it was glued down too hard, and did not "need" to come up. When challenged on this, I was told that he did not answer to me, he answered to the one who was paying for it. My dad told him to use his best judgement, and so he did not pull up the old floor. Thus, our whole kitchen floor is now raised up higher than the rest of the house.
    Then, there was a problem with the tile we wanted. Although he said earlier he could get them, it turned out he could not. This, in itself, was not a huge problem... but he wanted us to do all the searching on the internet for the tiles. We ordered them, and he was suppose to pick them up (like all the other materials), but he did not--I had to drive out to the store.
    The main issue however has been TIME. We started this whole project waaaay back in the middle of May, and have had the tiles since May 30th... it is now JUNE the 17th, and the floor is STILL not done!
    We keep being told that he is going to come at 9:00 am on a certain day to "finish" it up... but then he either doesn't show or call at all, or he shows up late, does a little work, and then leaves. Today, for example, he said he would "finish" it up by showing up at 9:00 am this Sunday... but again, he is a no-show.
    Take it from me--if you have a choice between hiring a professional and saving $200 to hire a "independent handyman," spend the extra $200. You'll save yourself a lot of grief.

    WOOD'S CUSTOM FLOORS
    Julie Wood was wonderful. She came to my home and helped me coordinate each room, and even helped pick out paint colors. I didn't have to go to the store once. The installer Bobby was great. He tried not to disrupt my life as much as possible. He told me in advance what he would be doing, so I could prepare. I didn't care for the carpet guy. I had paid for them to move furniture. He made me empty bookcases. He came in with the attitude that he wasn't going to start until I did my job. He didn't speak to us throughout the day, and he made me feel like I was in his workspace.

    One entire bathroom had to be completely removed due to mold and other required extensive repairs. They were prompt, neat very courteous and professional. One crew tore out old bathroom and sealed it off. John and Thomas then came and installed equipment to dry it out and filter the air. New bathroom was put in, all surfaces in home was wiped down and entire central air system was cleaned including ductwork. Carpets were shampooed all over house, not just rooms they worked in and all trash was removed from property promptly. Everyone I came in contact with who worked with this company was VERY polite, courteous and professional.

    WOOD'S CUSTOM FLOORS
    We replaced existing vinyl flooring for about 1/3 of the first floor in our house. Wood's Custom Floors had a large choice, and I found what I wanted easily. The installers showed up on time the first day (were about an hour late the 2nd day), were quick and professional in their work, and my new flooring looks wonderful. This installation should have taken only one day, but it was discovered that I had 2 pre-existing layers of linoleum instead of the one I thought was there (we are not the original owners of this house), and thus required removal of the top 'floating' layer, which added a good bit of time. The half-bath was the only area requiring work on the 2nd day, and it was finished in short order. We want to put new carpet in our master bedroom, and replace the vinyl flooring in the masterbath with tile. I plan on using Wood's Custom Flooring again, and that's the highest praise I can bestow.
