    We have Charity Chimney Sweeps replace the entire fireplace and chimney which from the condition was in very bad shape and look as though there may have been a chimney fire. They estimated the old fireplace was at least 20 years old. They was able to do the complete removal of old and installation of new in one day.

    I paid $169 for this service, however I expected them to be more thorough. They were done in about 45 minutes. Never went up on roof to inspect anything. Basically they came in, laid down a tarp in front of fireplace  and scrub/brushed inside and suck  up soot with a vacuum cleaner . Left a fine black dust all over the inside main level of my house. Took  me a couple cleaning and dusting's to get it all gone.

    From the person who scheduled the appointments to the workers who installed the chimney, everyone was professional, helpful, and friendly. They came within the window given for our appointments and called about 15 minutes out to let us know they were on the way. While at our home, they worked efficiently, cleanly, and carefully.

    We knew before they came out that something would have to be done to repair the cracked firebrick.  They cleaned the fireplace thoroughly, then inspected it thoroughly.  They gave me their professional (good) opinion that a wooden mantle could not safely be mounted without major design change - fire hazard.  They removed tons of ancient soot and left the area cleaner than it was before they started.   They gave me an estimate on repair of firebrick; a piece of steel was ordered

    This company is nothing but dishonest and shady. They did work on our chimney in November/December 2011, as well as installing roof vents. At first, they responded very quickly, as it was Thanksgiving that we got a leak, and we were in a panic. They won our service by being the first to return our call over the holiday. They came out and repaired our chimney, which looked awful, but we were happy that it just wasn't leaking anymore. They did not clean up after completing the work, leaving their trash in
    our driveway, which was strange, but they promised to be back "in a few days" to clean up. Three weeks after promising to be back "in a few days" to haul it away, we began calling them to get them to return and finish the job by cleaning up their mess. We had to bug them to come take care of it, and then, instead of hauling it away, they put most of it into our trashcan--not what they said they would do. We also had to call them back out because they damaged our roof in the process. Yes, they responded quickly on the front end, but once they got our check, we were very low on their priority list.
    The night of 2/10/2013, we heard a leak in the exact same place as we did before they did the work on our chimney/roof. Given that their website clearly states that there is a "five year leak free guarantee" on all work, we called them the morning of 2/11, but when they hadn't returned calls by the end of the day, my husband went to look at the work; he discovered that they didn't caulk or even nail on the trim pieces that they installed. In other words, they completely left it open to leak again. We began attempting to contact this company 2/11/13, but we had no luck; the main phone number seems to be disconnected, no one returns calls when voicemails are left on a secondary phone number we found online, no one monitors their Facebook page, and no one responds to emails. On 2/15, I emailed the owner through his personal Facebook, and he responded that night. He said that his mother had been in the ICU, and he left an employee in charge of the company. He said the employee had majorly screwed up, and the employee was no longer with them. He then asked when he could come out to look at the problem, but, just a small problem, he couldn't find any record of having worked on our roof--could it be under a different name? We requested an image of the check from our bank (since so much time had passed, it was not immediately available), and we sent him the image of the cashed check, which was made out to Choo Choo Roofing, less than 24 hours after he finally responded to our contact attempts. I also told him that he could come out anytime through Monday. After that, though, he'd have to come out late afternoon. I asked him to return my husband's MANY calls to schedule a time. Nothing. We haven't heard back from them since 2/15, even though they acknowledged the problem. This company is just as crooked as they come. They deny ever working on our house, then return to ignoring us once faced with proof that, yes, they did the faulty work. I guess that's one way to avoid having to stand by their warranty.  I have filed a BBB complaint, which they have not responded to, and I have extended every opportunity for them to resolve the situation professional and ethically (including offering to rescind the BBB complaint and negative publicity). They are just crooks--I mean, what else would you call someone who takes your money to complete a job, doesn't do what they were supposed to do, then doesn't fix it, as their website says they will? I'm madder than ever because now I KNOW that they are aware of the issue and have just chosen to ignore us. In fact, I have posted on their Facebook page several
    times (as has another dissatified customer or two), but they just delete the negative posts or requests for calls. Clearly, Choo Choo Roofing not only doesn't care about their customers--just taking their money under false pretenses.
