    The location was at our farm house which sets more than 400 feet off the road. Casey Powell correctly foresaw the difficulties in getting a tractor-trailer truck carrying the building materials up our very steep driveway. His supplier used a fork lift truck to bring the building materials up the driveway. The delivery of materials occurred as scheduled. Demolition of the old deck was accomplished without damaging the stucco finish on the walls of the house. As the house is more than 50 years old, and there are places where the stucco finish is weak, this type of meticulous attention to detail was much appreciated. The new deck was framed, footers dug and concrete poured for the support posts, the flooring boards laid, and the deck and stair rails and completed. Pressure washing of the ramp revealed that only a relatively few boards needed to be replaced. The carpenters did all their work between September 4 and 13, 2018. Rain stopped the work at least once. The new deck, stair rails, and the ramp were stained and sealed by September 20, 2018. The new deck seems very sturdy and we are looking forward to hosting star-gazing parties on it.

    Chattanooga Mobility And Lifts
    After interviewing the 2nd local company, we decided to have Chattanooga Mobility and Lifts install a stair lift on our stairs.  Our stairs are not curving stairs, but straight up and down, though a bit on the steeper side.  I don't know if that is a product of our home being built in 1978 or not.  My husband went to his previously scheduled appointment with his primary care physician and asked her about a prescription for the lift, given his severe osteoarthritis in hips and knees and his heart condition.  She wrote a script citing those ailments specifically.  What follows is the only reason this company got a C for "communication."  When my husband phoned the representative to schedule the installation of the lift, he advised the rep that he had a script in hand from the physician, and read to the rep what was written on the script.  Only at this point did we learn that the script must have a specific code assigned in order to satisfy the regulations governing no-sales-tax purchase.  The representative suggested my husband return to his physician for another script containing that code.  My husband refused to do that, asserting that he should have been given that information sooner, especially since the company rep knew of the appointment at the consult meeting.  After a bit of back and forth the company rep called my husband's health care provider and the situation was handled between the two of them by fax, I believe. Regarding payment, a minimum payment of half the cost was due before installation; the remaining half due at time of installation.  The young company rep came to our home to pick up the down payment.   I do not know if that is routine for him to come to the home of a customer to get payment or if he did it as a service to my husband.  Either way, it was very much appreciated. On January 14, 2016, the same young man and another young man arrived on schedule to install the lift on our stairs.  The miscommunication between the representative and my husband was in the past and presented no residual issue between them.  The two men were pleasant and worked quickly.  They had said the install would take approx. 2 hours and it did.  After installation, they went over all the operating and safety features of the chair and had my husband take it for a test drive while they were here.  They answered all questions and never seemed hurried to leave.    They did, however, inform my husband that they could not install a turbo booster on the chair :-) We are very very satisfied with the stair lift.  It has made an enormous difference in my husband's quality of life.  There is no question we will recommend them very highly to others and use them again in our own home should the need arise.

    They are very professional and on time. The care is excellent and dependable. . They return phone calls in a timely manner. The therapist will also text me if they are running a little late for my appointment. That is so helpful! I feel safe when my two Amedysis therapists are in my home. They are very qualified and educated in their field of expertise. I have made so much progress during the four weeks these two have been coming to my house and assigned to my care. The therapists always make time to answer any questions I may have and listen to my concerns about my present health condition. The therapists are always mindful to keep and update my vitals during each visit to my home. I don't know what I would have done without their information to help me become more independent, mobile, suggestions for pain relief and their medical training has helped to expedite my post of recovery. My care currently consist of physical and occupational therapists. My husband and I can not say enough good things about Amedysis. A God send to me!

    The doctor's office called them and determined that I needed a walker for rehabilitation from knee replacement surgery. I requested a bedside commode in addition. The did not bring them until the day after I came home from the hospital, but the representative was very friendly and explained everything to me. I was satisfied with the service.

    I contacted CareFamily through the internet to help find a worker for housekeeping and occasional care of our mothers.  The web site was very easy to navigate and set up and within a few minutes Care Family had several caregivers for contact.  They had already done background checks and provided advice on how to interview by phone.   I was impressed with how quickly they had referral care givers for me to contact.  As a professional RN I was also very impressed with their site and the useful information tools they provide for people who are caring for elderly family members like I am.  I hired a housekeeper/caregiver  and for the nominal fee CareFamily charges, all the taxes and pay and record keeping is done through CareFamily.   As a professional Caregiver (RN) I can tell you this is much more affordable than using agency staffing.   CareFamily is very personable and the Caregiver who comes weekly has been wonderful.  It has been a win/win relationship for all of us. I have recommended the CareFamily site to the Hospice Agency caring for my mom for  their client families who maybe needing to find assistance like I did, as well as information on care giving for the staff and families.  This is a wonderful caring organization.
