    Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville
My son was not breathing and we took him there as he was unconscious. This was on July 3rd. I went to the reception desk, and they took their time trying to sign him in as he was in the car unconscious and needed a wheelchair. The nurse was walking out to get him, assuming he could walk with her and I told her he was going to need a wheelchair. So I had to wait for her to go back, get one, and then finally have my son brought in (still unconscious) from the car. After they got him conscious again, they told him that he had a specific problem, and they wanted him to check with his doctor the following Monday. He had a male nurse that was rude. Regardless, my son was released and that night we came home. The next morning, July 4th, I found him on the sofa not breathing and blue in the face. I called the paramedics and they took him back to this hospital. When we took him back in, this male nurse gave us a sneer that we were back. To my knowledge our son didn't ever see a real doctor, as no one ever introduced themselves as such. They told us his pottassium was high, so they gave him a compository to lower it. From various doctors I have talked to since, they had never heard of this being done in the situation that he was actually in. They then told my husband and I that they were going to put him in another room on a ventilator to help his breathing. No one told us there was a serious problem, and a lady took us back to sit in a small room that was closer to my son as they put it. We wait, but still weren't given any details. I walked out into the ER, as someone told me they thought I could go in to see him as he's doing better. They made us wait a little longer, and minutes later the nurse came in with another man (don't know if he was a doctor) and a box of kleenexes. He told us our son was dead. I am convinced because of the treatment he got at that hospital he is not with me now. No one told us there was a serious problem when they put us in that little room, and they didn't tell us there were any problems when they put him on the ventilator. They just said it would help his breathing. I believe he was in the room for a while before they even came and got us, because he was cold when I went there. The service was terrible and the bedside manner was beyond bad. The next day they told us he had passed because of something entirely different than they had told us when he went in the first day and scheduled an appointment for his doctor. If I had known he was in a critical state, I could've said things that I now can't say otherwise. I have talked to other people who experienced the same type of treatment, and I cannot state how awful we were treated as the parents, and the lack of care that my son went through. I'd highly recommend NO ONE use this emergency room. I can't speak on the other part of the hospital, but the ER was terrible.

The people at Walgreens are wonderful. Their pharmacists get to know you. They really treat you like the neighborhood pharmacy. I like everything about them. All of the employees, not just the pharmacy, are very friendly. The place is immaculate. If they see you looking around they stop and ask you if you need any help. If you are a regular customer they all recognize you and say hi and stop and ask how you are doing. They are not overbearing but friendly. The pharmacists are very very helpful. You can ask any of them information about anything. If they don't know, they'll find out.

My Doctor sent me to Baptist Memorial Hospital for a bone scan because he said my bones were "awfully soft" when he did my ankle surgery. I went to their Women's Clinic and they did the mammogram and bone scan. They were great.

Overall, each month's hospitalization was hit or miss in the ER. It always depended on who was on duty as to the quality of care and attention. The ICU and stepdown units were excellent, but the regular floor care was also hit or miss. On one admission, my husband would have died because of the inattentiveness and ineptness of the nurse and staff on the regular, where he should never have been sent from ER. If I had not protested loudly to the administration, we would have lost him that night. He was sent to ICU at 3 am and had to have kidney dialysis for 3 days because of the delay and incompetent care.
However, outside of that hair-raising experience, the care was good and staff were helpful

They saw the amount of pain I was in and got me right in. Nice staff, and the nurse assigned to my care was really nice. Seemed to really care about her paitents. The Dr. was nice as well. They got me treated quickly, and I was able to go home within a few hours. The environment was clean, and the people were trained and nice. What else do you need in a Hospital?

MY overall experience with this provder is that she has provided the very best primary care I have ever seen. I am a physician, specialist, and wish that my patients had someone like Cindy to care for them. She is extremely knowledgable, thorough and has an excellent bedside manner. She is scrupulous about testing and folowing up on results. She has made consistently excellent referrals for problems. She never forgets any aspect of my health, and provides comprehensive preventive care. she also manages acute problems efficiently and very effectively. On several occasions, she has noted and addressed issues that my specialists have not, and made sure necessary adjustments were made.

We are new to the area so after searching online for a good place to take kids, we selected the ER at Methodist Hospital in Germantown because they said they had a special section of the ER for children, staff that were trained in Pediatrics, etc. Overall, it was an average emergency room visit. Our son's let was not badly injured, but because he was only 2 at the time, he couldn't really tell us how bad it hurt and he was still reluctant to walk on it after a day. I expect to wait in the ER, especially when we clearly don't have a life-threatening injury. But, at the time we arrived there was absolutely NO ONE else in the waiting room. We waited over an hour and during that time, maybe 1 or 2 other patients showed up. Perhaps we were in the wrong area, but it didn't seem like a children's ER at all...just a standard ER. Nothing wrong with it, but it was somewhat "advertised" on their website as being a kid-friendly location. The nurses we saw were kind and friendly, but kind of rushed. When it came time for an xray, my son didn't want to cooperate (it hurt and he was 2), and they didn't seem to know what to do. They ended up having me help physically restrain him and just pinned him down while screaming while they took a substandard xray (he was moving). I'm a veterinarian, so I didn't mind helping, but I think the average client wouldn't want to pin their own child down while screaming. No one ever tried to calm him down, lighten the mood, bring out a toy, etc. We saw a doctor for about 5 minutes who came in just to tell us they didn't see a break or anything and that we could try to come back and have it xrayed in a few days because "sometimes in young children, these things show up later." This is the only time I have taken a child to the ER, so I don't have anything to compare to. Comparing it to visits that I've been to an ER for myself, I'd say this one was average. I have low expectations from the ER and in hindsight, an acute-care type place probably would have been more appropriate. But when you're new to the area, you don't really know what and where those types of places are, so we just relied on the info we could find online. We also probably should have tried Le Bonheur's Children's hospital downtown, but again, we didn't know they were there at the time.

My experience has been very good and think they have nice facilities. In terms of punctuality, I only had to wait 15 minutes before being seen. The staff is very friendly and had excellent beside manner.

This was the worst experience ever out of any hospital I have gone to. They kept saying he was dehydrated and they did not do anything about it. They also said he had a UTI, but they didn't give him any medication. They put the needle in his hand for an IV, but they never gave him an IV. They also put the equipment on for an EKG, but they never gave him one. It was the worst experience ever.

My husband had not been feeling well for months and had been through a miriad of tests. After having to leave work early several days in a row, he somehow thought to check his blood sugar. It was very high, but we had no idea what a dangereous number was, so we went to the hospita. He was admitted, given treatment, taught about diabetes, and monitored for several days. His care was excellent in the emergency room and in his permanent room. The staff was wonderful. The food was even good! Afterwards we needed information for insurance, which was provided promptly. Hopefully we won't need hospital services in the future, but if we do, we will definitely go the Methodis Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital.
