Funeral Home reviews in Germantown

My grandson passed away suddenly on Saturday August 17, 2013.  On Monday morning when my son called the medical examiner to find out what we were supposed to do he was told to let them know who they should release the body to.  We did not know where to start so we called the closest funeral home.  Al Tacker of Bartlett Funeral Home met with us within a few hours.  This was their first child so they were devastated. He took his time and first ministered to their emotional needs.  He then listened to what they wanted to do.  The baby?s mother wanted a cemetery where there was a pond so they could take their future children to feed the ducks when they visited baby Max.  Out of that small request the Al Tacker led them through the multitude of decisions.  He described the five nearby cemeteries.  He explained the whole process and more importantly listened to what was on their hearts.  He called the cemetery and they wanted us to come by the next day but Al did not want to prolong what my son and his wife where going through so he got us in to see their funeral director that afternoon.  He took us out to the cemetery and showed us the area that baby Max would be. Then he introduced us to the funeral director there.  We arranged for the plot.  I told my son when we left that I was so glad that we went to Bartlett Funeral Home first because the other funeral home was professional but there was a lack of compassion for what had just happened.
The day of the service Mr. Tacker was so very vigilant over every detail.  He checked on the parents of the baby at every step to be sure everything was going well.  There were a lot of people who attended the service but everything went smoothly.  There was not a dry eye in the room when Mom gave the eulogy.  When I asked her what I should say in the review she said, ?It was perfect.?
