I cannot recommend Surfacescapes. They put an epoxy floor in my garage which failed 3 times (top coat peeled) -- each time they blamed us for using "harsh chemicals" to clean it and allowing the dog to urinate on it. (We used soap and water to clean it and the dog urinated on it half a dozen times) Prior to hiring Surfacescapes, the owner, Gene White, assured us that epoxy could withstand anything -- even dog urine. Finally, after many months of haggling with Mr. White, I contacted the manufacturer of the product and they agreed that the product had been applied incorrectly. As a result, Mr. White agreed to redo it a fourth time. However, he then went back on his word because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. He then blocked our phone numbers and refused to answer emails. His behavior and communications were extremely unprofessional -- even childlike. His workers are not well trained and my guess is that Mr. White (Surfacescapes) has serious cash flow problems - why else would he bicker over a $2500 contract? I would think long and hard before doing business with Mr. White and Surfacescapes if you value quality work and prefer to do business with companies that respect their customers.

PRISTINE!!! Luis and his crew are artists with woodwork!!! IMMACULATE results!! Very professional, always on time, superb communication!! Worked around our schedule and kept dust to a minimum by taping off areas with plastic not being worked on. These guys are THE BEST!!!!! Their work is pristine!! HIGHLY Recommended!!!!! Kept us informed every step of the process and outlined what had to be done and the timeframe. Luis and the entire crew were friendly, professional and it obvious they take great pride in their work. Very reasonable pricing for the quality work involved!!

I guess I talked about most of what he did in the previous information tab; Peter stripped my old bathroom from stem to stern and turned into modern beautiful bathroom; just wish I had a lot of space to make larger; anyway, converted my old bathroom into a beautiful shower, with body sprays and a seat to sit in my shower. I am very happy with peter and we are contemplating in remodeling our other bathroom, but not as quite as elaborate.

Totally unprofessional. Total disaster. I kicked these crooks out of my house half way through the job and took Chase Turk to court. He has not paid me what he owes from our court case. Chase Turk and his crew do not have any sort of contractor or home improvement licenses. Check with the State of Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors disciplinary actions reports for May 2017 to see Turk Tile's unlicensed civil penalty fines.

Joey stocks up on three colors of engineered handscraped glue down hardwood.  For almost 2400 sq feet he gave me a price of the actual hardwood around 3 dollars a sq ft.  There was quite a bit of old ugly hardwood that needed to be taken up and two layers of tile in the entryway. All together it was around 15K.  I paid half for deposit and he wrote on contract that it was contingent upon house closing. It ended up that the seller didn't come through with the repairs he said he was going to make so we had to walk on the house.  Joey was so understanding and gracious and put the check in the mail the next day and I got a full refund quickly in the mail.  I highly recommend him, especially if you have a large area of floor to do or you want to get a house done right after closing.  He was going to be able to come in the day after closing and get it done in a week.

He worked for my neighbor across the street and that's how I was referred to him. He was very nice! I would highly recommend him. If I was going to have anything else done, I would call him immediately!

I want to start out by saying that this was the "MOST PROFESSIONAL" individual I've met in a very long time. He was prompt, courteous, very friendly, and honest. He provided an estimate on a Friday, and happened to have an opening on Monday. he promised me that he would be there first thing Monday morning (7.30 AM), and he was there on time. His crew was very friendly; we ended up having lunch together. There is something about this gentleman's company that is hard to describe. I am glad I found him on Angie's list, and his ratings truly reflect his delivery and quality (so far).  His team was done in less than 5.5 hours, and the room looks awesome. He did not cut corners, and try to rush out. He visited a few times to check on their work.
My only complaint - HIS COMPANY DOES NOT INSTALL CARPETING - I WOULD HAVE INSTANTLY GIVEN HIM MORE BUSINESS (3-4 times what I spent on my hardwood installation). However, he was gracious, and offered a referral.
I have run into price gouging contractors, who think homeowners are idiots, and unprofessional to say the least. I have run into enough of them, so I am speaking from experience when I say, Pete Anderson is someone I trust, and someone I would give more business to in the future!
Thanks Pete! I wish you and your company great success.

Since the last review - a couple of months later....

I had some uneven buckling of the wood flooring; Pete promised to come by and push some sort of glue through the flooring to make it even, since the slab can be uneven - I left a few voicemails, and no response back...

    Mid South Flooring LLC
Very easy to deal with and most helpful throughout the process of choosing, buying and installing the hardwood floors.  Installers showed up on time and the install was seamless, quick and professionally done.  Stairs were stained to match the flooring and looked very good.  Would highly recommend Danny and  MId-South Flooring and would use them again.  As with all contracts, be sure everything to be done is in writing.

I would definitely use them again, and plan to next year when we replace the carpet in our bedrooms with hardwood floors.  They did a GREAT job and my floors look amazing!  There were a few picky things that I had them come back and touch up after the installation was complete.  Patrick did a great job addressing those issues and I'm really, really happy.
The crew that installed the floors were great. They worked hard and did a really good job, and they also did a great job cleaning up every day when they left.  It was nice not to have to worry about dragging the old carpeting to the curb for pickup - they took care of everything. For the most part, they came when they said they were going to be at the house, and worked all day - including a Saturday.
Danny returned my initial inquiry promptly and met with us to take measurements for an estimate and advise us on the pros and cons of various flooring options within 3 days of my phone call to him.  Overall, we are very pleased and I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for hardwood floors.  My neighbor is a retired contractor, and he is very picky and had worked with Danny and MSF in the past on several different jobs, and thought very highly of them.  I'm glad I took his advice!

    Elite General Services
Had Elite General Cleaning every 2 weeks for 4 hours  since  coupon on Angie's List 3 years ago.  Owner, Elsa,  very competent, gracious; her workers were professional and did a great job. She provided all cleaning supplies-organic-and used microfiber rags. Cleaning involved dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchen appliances (outside), dust/clean cabinets, polish granite, clean hardwood floors with my special soy based cleaner, scrub and clean 2.5 bathrooms, dust for cobwebs, dust baseboards/window sills, clean glass on picture frames/curios, mop tile floors. She uses a variety of non or limited English speaking women from South America but always 1 on team of 2 or 3  who spoke some English and could communicate. They did a wonderful job and we rewarded them with bonus cash on holidays. About 6 mo ago, her team of "regulars"  disappeared and every 2 weeks, different women showed up, many speaking so little English I'd have to call Elite or send a note. Recently, the cleaning was so poor, the manager, Ashley came  to inspect - they gave a free cleaning. In  past  months, shower doors  never cleaned inside or out-the worker feigned not understanding. For the past 4 cleanings, I have smeared soap over the glass in order to have a mediocre job done-still water spotted-not like it was cleaned previously. No matter how many times I now ask to have the outside of kitchen cabinets wiped, they never do it- no longer dust  kitchen/ dining room chairs, table legs, clean baseboards and cobwebs, clean glass on curios/ picture frames.  Used to lift the edges of large area rugs to vacuum and remove the bathroom rugs to wash the floor. This hasn't happened in months. They refuse to use the soy cleaner on hardwood floors, preferring to damp mop. This has considerably dulled the kitchen floor. Today (4/22/15) was the last straw. 2 women appeared; one stood around dazed-don't know if she was on something-until the other cleaning the kitchen told her what to do. She acted like she never handled a vacuum-the carpets still were dirty; twice asked to have tub cleaned -it's still got soap in it. Used 2 rolls of my paper towels. Called Ashley -said they no longer provide rags to clean, only "wet cleaners". She called and spoke to worker and rugs re-vacuumed. Furniture not dusted in any rooms. They raised my rate 25% a few mo ago and cannot provide paper towels? Plus, who polishes with paper towels? BEWARE of this cleaning company. I'll NEVER use them again.
