Tile Installation reviews in Elizabethton

I hired TJ's Handyman Service to repair the damaged floor in my bathroom from an old, broken toilet flange and to replace the old carpet with tile. TJ arrived when he said he would and provided a detailed estimate of the job. They arrived on time everyday, did excellent work and cleaned up at the end of the day. Their estimate for cost and job duration was right on and I am extremely pleased with the speed and quality of their work as well as their professionalism. I would definitely recommend them and I plan on hiring them again for other jobs.

From beginning to end an amazing experience! From the moment I called in full crisis mode they were ready to quickly respond and help get the process started. They went above and beyond during every phase of the project. They were readily abailable to answer questions and guide me through the process. Every person that I had contact with in this company was professional, caring and courteous. They all worked hard to get my home back to as good as new (or even better than before) as quick as possible. The selection and quality of materials were great. The craftsmanship for all stages of the work done were excellent. I would highly recommend this company for all your needs!

Ian is a professional from start to finish. He arrived on time, took care in all that he did, fixed issues without complaint (even when that meant redoing an entire shower ceiling), and was completely trustworthy.
We loved that he did not tack on an additional fee for the materials, even though he met us at the home improvement store to help us get everything we would need. He did a beautiful job on the walls, floor, and ceiling, and even successfully talked me into finishing it off with bullnose tiles (I'm cheap and was trying to save money, but am SO GLAD I listened to him!).
The bathroom is beautiful and less than an hour after he left, we had another contractor come in to install something and he took one look at the bathroom and asked for Ian's name and number.
Neither my husband nor I would hesitate to hire Ian again, or to recommend him to a friend or family member. His prices are reasonable, his tiling skills result in beautiful outcomes, and he really does quality work. In this day and age, Ian is a rare gem.

Darrell assessed the work to be performed and indicated that he would provide me a quote vie email within a couple of days.  Two weeks later, haven't heard from him at all.  Very poor service and reliability.

He did finish the siding, but did not finish the gutters.  He did not do any of the flooring expect for the bathroom. The floor in the master bedroom was not finished either.  He did not put the cabinets back in or do the plumbing in the kitchen.  He also did not do the trim work.  The work that he did was good, but he just left most of it undone.

As I said, we hired Kelly to lay tile in our dining room. He went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. There were a few hard times because of the weather, but other than that we could not have asked for anything better.  On top of doing such a wonderful job with what we asked he also corrected some things from a previous job, took the time to put forth some extra effort into the next room we were connecting to, solved some problems with some squeaking we had in this room.  He solved our biggest problem, which was how to transition down into our sunroom. Then he came up with this idea to use tiles and it workd out so great and looked so good. On top of all of that, he was the neatest person we have ever seen.  There was never any mess left anywhere, which was great, but the most amazing thing was, that he didn't even get any grout on the walls or the brick around our fireplace or anything.  It took a little longer than it might have most, but to us it was well worth it because the job turned out unbelievable. Kelly is such a perfectionist and if he thinks you are not happy then he is not happy and will go out of his way to make sure you are. My husband and I can't say enough good things about he and his father ( who was the person we met originally ) except to say if we ever needed to have anything done again we would definitely call him because we know we couldn't go wrong and we couldn't get it done at a better price.

First they got the tile order wrong. We told them what tile we wanted and that particular tile comes in 4 colors and about 6 different sizes. We wanted 3 sizes and 3 colors, some of each color and size, all to be mixed in a random pattern on the floor. Even though we explained this three times Winchester ordered all the same size tile. So then we had to wait and wait while he ordered the right thing. Also, we had ordered the epoxy grout for the shower area only because it's very sturdy/tough stuff and they put epoxy grout through the entire project. The installer did not clean the epoxy grout off of the tiles well enough, and since it's super heavy duty stuff, we couldn't get it off once it had dried. He also got this hyper-unremoveable grout on our new front door handle, on our new front door, etc. We called to complain about the grout being in places that it shouldn't be and the lady at the office told us to get some acid from Home Depot and to get it off ourselves. It's pretty much still there. Also, in the shower area the installer used 2 different colors of grout which really looks wrong. The lady in the office said that the colors would eventually fade to look the same. After 3 years, this has not happened. The drain in the shower is sunk about an inch lower than it should be and the installer was supposed to make it flush with the tile. I think it's hazardous because you're not expecting this HOLE to be in the middle of what is supposed to be a finished floor. We love the tile that we chose, but there's still epoxy grout on it and it ruins the look.
