A Cut Above Lawn & Landscaping
Jason and his team did a fantastic job removing one tree, removing several (overgrown) bushes that were the size of small trees, cutting limbs off some trees to shape them, and weeding and cleaning up the side of a hill that had become wildly overgrown. They also removed leaves. We bought our house about 18 months ago. The previous owner had not done much (if any) basic lawn care for the past few years so when we bought the house the yard was very overgrown. Once we were settled into the house, we called Jason and he came out a couple days later to look at the job. He had great ideas (letting us know which trees should stay, which trees needed to be taken out because they were crowding other trees and ground cover). He quoted a very reasonable price and said he would be out in about two weeks. About a week later he called us with a start date. He came promptly that day, and started working hard. When we first met he thought it would be two days of work but the three-person team started early and wrapped up after 5 p.m.; they were able to finish it all in one day, which was really impressive. Because he finished in one day, he lowered the price from our original quote. The work was fantastic. We have contracted him to cut our lawn going forward. I have every confidence we can trust him with our lawn.

    Four Clover Lawn Service
I had used this company for several years - since it began really. They were dependable and did a good job initially. I usually would call Bruce in the Spring to set up the mowing schedule. The last couple of years, he just started mowing without discussing this with me - he would just show up in the Spring on his own. I found this a little presumptuous as I might not want to use him again or maybe would not want to start the mowing as early as he started because the lawn had not grown tall enough yet. I had a log structure that was in my garden - away from the lawn itself - that was spotlighted and had been there for many years while they tended the lawn. After about 6 years, one day I noted that they took the log structure away and to the dump. They were not told to do this and just took it upon themselves to remove it. I called Bruce and told him what had happened. He told me that I had told them to clear the brush and twigs from that area. This was absolutely not true. I would not tell them to have anything to do with the garden area. He stated that he would replace it which, after two years he did not do. I sent him a letter to remind him and he assured me that he did not forget, but a year later I still did not have anything to replace this item. I always had Bruce remove leaves from the yard every year and he charged about 100- 125 for this. Last November, I had some landscaping done by another company. Bruce removed the leaves as usual but charged 225.00 for this job. Now, realize that the yard with leaves has decreased as the landscaped area did not need to have leaves removed, I had already raked the yard once myself. So, there were less leaves and less yard to remove the remaining leaves from. In other words, it was a much smaller job than the earlier years. I asked him why the big price hike and he stated that it was a normal increase. I felt that he was angry that I used another company for the landscaping instead of him. I addressed that the log garden structure was never replaced and sent him a check for 200.00, noting that the 25.00 would go toward the log structure that he never replaced after telling me over and over that he would. I did not hear from him again and he did not resume mowing the lawn the next spring without contacting me. I was just as glad as I found another lawn care company that I like better anyway and really did not want to continue working with him any longer after this price gauging and lack of responsibility.

    All Seasons Lawn Care
All Seasons responded quickly with an estimate. Their price was competitive. They got me on their schedule quickly, showed up when they were supposed to and did a fantastic job. I had lots of leaves so I didn't want them just mulched and left on the ground. They removed all the leaves and left my yard looking great. I've already recnommended them to friends.

    Grass Masters
I utilized their service for leaf removal. I requested an estimate and received it very quickly. The pricing was reasonable and they reduced the estimate slightly (about 10%) to obtain new business. The leaves were slightly wet, but they did not have a problem blowing all the leaves very quickly. They blew them to the road, then vacuumed them up with a large truck. With the crew they had, they completed the job in about 30 minutes. It would have taken me 2 days of hard work to do the same work, not to mention disposing of the leaves. After they were finished, the yard looked like a carpet and there was a noticeable straight line distinguishing my yard and the neighbor's, who still had their leaves. They are a little late in cashing my check ( about 1 month and counting), but they say they have it and it is in process. Overall, I felt it was money well spent and would recommend them to others.

    VOLUNTEER LAWN INC
They have the contract with our neighborhood. They are either the biggest or the second biggest in Knoxville. We just pay a fee for having them come out and do that. It is a home owner's association fee. They do a lot of places here in town. They do all over the place and probably out of town too. I would absolutely recommend them to others as well. Overall, they do good work. They are as bad or as good as one would find in Knoxville. They are prompt about doing the work. One time their new employee forgot to blow the grass off of our backyard and the patio. We called them, and they were right out there. They did the blowing within 5 minutes and it was pretty fast. They are close to us. They are excellent. They are really good to deal with. They have several heads of different departments like irrigation, trimming, and grass cutting. All of them are good. We have to pay extra for those services that we avail outside of in addition to what we pay through the home owner's association. Their pricing is very competitive. We wouldn't say they are a lot cheaper or they are a lot more expensive. We have gotten estimates, and they have all been pretty much the same with everybody. It is within $100.

    VOLUNTEER LAWN INC
We've been using them for two or three years. They come once a week for mowing and in the fall, they do leaves and they also do mulch annually. They are a very large, local company and they have a very good reputation. The work is all high quality. We use them exclusively.
