    Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing at about 3:00 pm on a Friday - they didn't have any regular appointments left for the day, but they were able to get me an "after-hours" appointment.  The fee was $99.00 for the service call since it was after-hours.  We had just turned the water on in our rental, and the kitchen sink was filled with water and would not drain.  The plumber who came to our house was very professional and was kind enough to suggest that I buy the $66.00 Angie's List drain clean-out coupon so I would not have to pay full-price.  He used a power snake to clean the drain - he said the former tenants probably poured grease down the sink, which caused the blockage.  The drain works perfectly now!  Their regular prices are expensive, so I would probably only use them in an emergency situation, but it's good to have a company you can call in a pinch.

Mr. Roberts was very professional.  Originally he was booked up and could not come until Friday, then he call and stated he was available sooner.  He explained in detail what our problem was and had the job complete quickly at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend his service.

    Handyman Repairs
I wasn?t happy with their work and I won?t call them back again. I did get several bids from several plumbers who didn?t help me at all and I am just disgusted. I am working on a house restoration job and it?s called the Lustron house which is made out of steel. It was an unusual thing and I needed somebody who wouldn?t come in to destroy the place since it can be easily destroyed by somebody who doesn?t know what they are doing. The man from Handyman Repairs spoke to me and I gave him the punchlist which included a lot of things to be done. I then told them about the estimates that I got from other people. I asked them if they could do the work for that price since that was a good price. So the handyman agreed to do the work for that price and we set up a time. He came over and started the work. It took longer than expected but that didn?t bother me. However, I saw that he had charged me extra when I got the bill for things that were on the punchlist. He had charged me $25 extra in addition to the original agreed price for chiseling out the tiles around the base of the toilet. He wouldn?t have had to chisel out the tiles if he had taken out the plastic ring from the wax ring below the toilet. He should have known to remove that so that it would sit without chiseling it out or to install the toilet after chiseling out tiles without charging extra. I had asked him to fix any leaks that he found in the kitchen area. However, he charged me extra for fixing some leaks even though it was included in the price that we had agreed on. The other plumbers had told me about the materials that I needed and I had gone out to buy those materials but he didn?t like those. So he bought the materials and charged me by including that in the bill too. I would concede the home that he was working in. He was there in June. There is no heat or air in that house. So it was brutally hot in there and he did have two helpers. So I would concede that it was very uncomfortable working there. I did have experiences with plumbers not showing up for the work and not even talking to me about the house. So I was pretty desperate. The price that he had quoted me was more than twice. The bid was for $480 and then I agreed to pay him the extra amount. He ended up adding it in a couple of different ways. He bought the materials but didn?t ask me if I wanted the receipt back. I don?t know what he spent but he charged me a lot of money. He did get the work done and it was okay. He did show up when he said he was going to show up. He left when he said he was going to leave. Everything in the house was in place and nothing was disturbed. He cleaned out pretty well. He did respond to the phone calls. It was just not professional of him to double charge me and it was wrong. I just wanted him to get out of there. I got the work done but I wasn?t happy. I won?t hire him again.

They're the best plumber I've had in ten years. I would call them back if I need any more plumbing work done. They tell you what it will cost before they do the job and explain it.
