CSteve Huff PlumbingFar too expensive. I am at fault for not doing my due diligence in getting the required three or more estimates.- Linda J.

FCustom Smart HomesCould't get past their funky sales process. They wanted money up front...$500 and then additional $2000 for plans that we could get elsewhere the a third of the cost. Then their budget for our home was riddled with errors. They refused to do a site evaluation unless we ponied up the $2000. Felt like I was at a used car dealership. Couldn't get them to commit to an estimate unless we spent more time and more money. Then you can't back out because you don't want to lose the $2500 and you have zero control over the cost. My wife and I feel like we were sucker punched! Unethical. If I were you I'd pass on these folks.- Stephen M.

FJeff ChambersThis is my second review on him. Still cannot contact him. Problems started 5 and half years ago when I bought the house new from him. Problems started a month after I move in. Concrete cracking. The walls are cracking and nails and screws are popping out. Wood floors were installed poorly and real bad boards filled with wood putty which came out. Grout coming out of tile floors. Only used quarter inch sheet rock on all the walls instead of half inch or more. My doors are hard to shut. Cabinet counter tops are sinking and there is more problems. He answered his phone for awhile and put a little grout in but then when I tried to tell him about all of the other mounting problems he stopped answering his phone. He just left me high and dry to fix everything that he done very badly myself. I a disabled Veteran and thought by buying a new home I could enjoy my home with no problems. Now it’s going to cost me thousands of dollars of my savings to fix a new home that was built really really bad. He won’t stand behind his work at all.So beware- Eddie H.

FElite ConceptsMy friend got me the job I worked a total of 17 hours which was at a rate of $12hr under the table coming to a total of $204. It wasn't working out on the and I told Curtis what was going on but said I'd finish the day which he agreed upon and said I'd be paid a few hours later that evening. After numerous text messages and voicemails I waited until the next day. The following day again calls & text ignored after calling my buddy and texting him curtis called because I said i was going to north Carolina dept of labor wage and labor dispute division. He said after they get done the job their on I'll be paid. Now this pay is under the table thru cashapp but from llceliteconcepts tithe business account so I got a deposit of $130 which was $74. Short of the amount I worked for and was promised also after I spoke with him he said quote "if i stopped calling and texting like a HO I'll get paid that he wipes his *** in the morning with $200" at this time still no pay . he went on and in text that I sent into the irs tax fraud dept as well and dol dept of wage and labor for not reporting employee wages as well as not giving me the agreed upon amount which I have messages screenshot of saying he would. Terrible fuy to work for cuts corners he called FINAGLING basically being cheap not doing top work and unprofessional, arrogant pompous and all around scum watch and research who you hire.- Jonathan F.

AChad Henry ConstructionWe did not use Chad because we decided not to purchase the home that needed the remodel. But Chad was extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and professional. We would definitely call him again.- Vanessa G.

AClayton HomesIt was a good experience. They helped us out a lot. They fulfilled their contractual requirements. They were pretty responsive to our needs and our questions. On punctuality, being that all the rain that was going on put them behind; if it wasn't for the rain they would have been done on time. We even actually referred them to other people.- Megan P.

ATechnically Aesthetic General ContractorsEverything was completed on time and in a very professional manner. It is now exciting to go to the house to see the progress and we look forward to finishing the job with Tyrone. He has been very helpful with suggestions and the pricing is reasonable. We paid in steps and each bill included receipts for materials and labor. We couldn't be happier.- Mark T.

ABarkley Custom Homes, Inc.Ron Barkley did very, very good quality work in our home addition. He is very thorough, and uses good quality material. The quality is just as good behind the sheetrock (ie what you can't see) as that which you can see. We have 2 x 6 studs in the walls, and highest rating insulation. He discusses costs up front, and gives a detailed estimate. He will tell you up front that his estimate will not be the cheapest in this area, and does try make the estimate slightly higher to allow for changes/unexpected things. He will ask us what type items we want: we chose the insulation rating, the model of window (we chose the most energy efficient), and of course tile/granite, paint colors, fixtures. We did choose nicer things, which did push us over the original estimate. Unless you request it, he will not estimate for things such as tile, granite, colored/imprinted cement, etc. Some of the things he does are subcontracted, but he is very particular with whom he uses and all subs did a great job. He is very professional and very courteous. He is an honest person, which I feel is the most important trait in someone to build a home. You will not be disappointed. Please note this is a different business from Barkley Lumber.- Trina g.

ABarkley Custom Homes, Inc.The new house is coming along great! I have no complaints to voice. I will be using the contractor in the future. He keeps me informed of all the details, and what I like the most is that he is always in and out at the job site; making sure things are going as planned. An added bonus! is that he only uses subcontractors that he has worked with for years, so he knows the quality of there work. He did tell me up front that he was a little more expensive than the other contractors, because of the experienced subcontractors he uses. That is just fine with me, being that I'm very picky about my the quality of work that I want done. He only uses quality people and that is what I want; nothing less. I do show up at the building site, and I will say without a doubt, I have seen nothing but professionalism and hard working people, and quality work being done. They all take the time to explain to me what is being done, and the next step that is planned. And I'm very impressed, because the subcontractors and my contractor are all on the same page! Mr. Barkley is making my new house building project, very easy, fun, and stress free!! He keeps me informed of the budget all the way! I highly recommend him for anybody, actually I'm scarred to give him a good review here, I have other building plans for him and I don't want him to be to busy! LOL! But honestly, I'm very picky about the quality that I want; if he can pass my expectations, I have no doubt that he will satisfy anybody!- Edward S.

AExcellent job. The deck and Pergola were finished in three workdays and with outstanding attention to structural integrity. I have had Chad Henry accomplish two other exterior construction jobs for us in the past (reviewed on Angie's List) and I am again very satisfied with his and his crews work.

FWork did not pass inspection and owner did not get a permit to build. Inspector tried to call him but no answer. The patio was not completely enclosed to prevent birds & bugs from entering, roof was not correct pitch and there was not a transition piece from house roof to patio roof, shingles were not attached properly & guttering was not done correctly. Patio has several leaks and screen is very saggy and loose. i was so disappointed because he is such a nice person but the work his crew did was so terrible. The building inspector said if he ever gets to talk with Mr. Bales he will tell him he will not be allowed to do work in Erwin ever again. Now i have to hire a company to disassemble this patio and rebuild correctly, and fix the roof repair that Mr. Bales crew did because it was done incorrectly and that caused more leaks in my roof.

AExcellent. Highly recommend Brett Lamley of all pro builders. Honest, reasonable prices, exquisite attention to detail and very punctual. He is also a a very neat contractor. Such jobs require removal of old before installing new. We all should expect our home to be messy during such renovations but Brett spent extra time to vacuum and clean every speck of dust or dirt that may have been tracked in during working hours. Ive had many homes remodeled in 3 different states and Mr lamley is by and the best contractor I ve ever had. He has a great eye for design and was able to understand my wishes and gave me exactly what I wanted for my unusual mountain home. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. . Highly recommend him.

AI have never so looked forward to writing a review. I'm sure I can't do justice to this great company. Use this company if you are in the need of someone that can be trusted to do a really outstanding job with a very fair price. These days it is really hard to find someone that tells you the truth about anything, Mr. Mitchell and his team are the exception. Everything and I mean everything happened just as it was laid out to me before I signed the contract. I was told the day that the project would start and received a phone call to keep me informed of the progress. We had no delay's and no excuses, none were needed. The project was finished in 12-1/2 days, right on schedule. We wanted to cover our concrete patio with construction that did not look added on, "Mission Accomplished". To Tyrone I say thank you and expect more happy customers, my neighbors are asking for your business cards so get ready, they are on their way.

AI really appreciated these guys. They installed an entire kitchen for me and did a great job. Their prompt communication was unmatched. They gave me a quote immediately and I didn’t have to wait weeks and nag constantly to get it. They were able to squeeze me in so I never had to wait too long. This was really helpful when I didn’t have a sink and needed one pronto! They were efficient and picked up after themselves. Prices were reasonable too. I highly recommend them and will be working with them some more for my other projects. Thank you!
