    SERVICEMASTER FAMILY OF BRANDS
    As someone who has used a wide variety of ServiceMaster services, it is painful to write this review. While the franchisee had to leave one of the dryers for one additional day (the 4th day), there was quite a bit of work they did not have to do (remove the toilet, cut into the floor, etc.) and overcharged on hauling away debris 4 times what should have been - all resulting in an overcharge of 70% over the estimate. In addition, I stayed at home twice to meet with a contractor they were recommending only for no one to show. On top of all this, the "accounting department" representative would not listen to the issues and eventually we had to get the owner of the franchise involved. We received a bill stating the original estimate amount, which we paid finally after many discussions, only to be told in their email that this bill was discounted to remove the 4th day. Realize this is a tough business, estimating for construction is also difficult - yet to be charged 70% over an estimate when less work than forecasted was necessary, amounts multiplied for services rendered and most chilling discourteous representatives made this untenable.

    Happy Home Repairs
    Never received a return call or email after leaving two emails and one phone message. It was during the Christmas time so I gave them about a week plus to return one or the other (i.e. email or phone call) but never received a response to either one. That appears to a lack of professionalism and certainly a lack of administrative skills. They may do good work but if you can't get in touch with them how are you going to trust their responsiveness and communication when/if you contract with them to do a job!?

    Complete Flooring Service
    Went great! This is the same company that installed the floor in the first place (just a few years ago, alas) and they were so good last time, that I called them again. All the same stuff I left in my previous review goes for this encounter, too. (And now we've done a french drain and new gutters, so it is to be hoped that I won't need them again - for this particular work, anyway.)

    Happy Home Repairs
    We were very pleased with their work. They arrived when they said they would and were very professional. They do great quality work at a fair price. We have not had the best luck finding reliable, honest and knowledgeable professionals since we moved here so we were very happy to find Happy Home Repairs as they met or exceeded our expectations. Doug is very busy (because he can be trusted to do the job right) so be prepared to wait but his work is worth the wait!

    Paul Davis Restoration

    Workmanship is the worst ever. My insurance copy fired them after inspecting their work. Their estimate included removing and replacing wet drywall and insulation. They replaced approximately 75% of the drywall included in their estimate, about 50% of the wet insulation. Water marks bled through paint.


    When work was replaced by another contractor, black mold was discovered on approximately 80 square feet of the areas that were included in the PDR estimate to be replaced. Although I was assured by PDR that the "dried out" insulation was safe, the proof was in the pudding - or mold in our case.


    These guys are less than honest, their workmanship is that of a third grader (that is an insult to most third graders).


    In addition to their pitiful workmanship, delays and dishonesty, their complete disrespect for the homes contents was enough to fight over.     Breathe Easy Mold Remediation
    They were very responsive, accessible, professional and knowledgeable. I had 5 other companies in here to find the water problem and what I was sure had to be mold, as I could smell it. No one could find a problem - until I brought in BreatheEasy. They were on time, finished ahead of schedule, cleaned out all traces of mold and cleaned up. 
    Although they eliminated the mold caused by moisture in the basement the smell didn't fully go away until we next had another company come in and add a drainage system to fix the water breach. Just insight for others should they face a similar issue!

    Mr. Thomas showed at our residence after we placed a call to his company for an inspection. After arriving he quickly determined that the area in question was once infested with black mold but had since dried and was not spreading. He also informed us how we should remove the residue as well as quickly and easily repair the area as to avoid unnecessarily paying someone to do it. We were extremely gracious and offered to at least pay either a service or fuel charge but Mr. Thomas steadfastly refused. Imagine that- an HONEST business that actually saved us money! We highly recommend the services of this outstanding company.

    Handyman Connection - Chattanooga
    In January, pipes froze and broke, flooding the basement, ruining carpet and saturating drywall.  After obtaining several estimates, I chose Handyman Connection because of price (which was in the middle), and scheduling.  I was told that they could start right away, and the job was estimated to take four to five days. Once my insurance company had released the funds, I called the carpenter.  He was finishing up another job and needed a few days.  When I had not contact from him past the time he had said the other job would be finished, I called him.  He said he was finishing that day and would start my project the next day.  I could tell he was exhausted when we spoke about 9:30 in the evening, so I told him that since it was already Thursday, why not take the weekend to recuperate and start my project on Monday when he was rested.  He agreed.  He started on Monday and worked through Saturday.  He worked the entire next week.  By the middle of the third week, I was fed up with the lack of progress and poor workmanship. On Tuesday evening he was allegedly finished, but when I went down to inspect, I found drywall dust on every surface of the basement, including those large items I had not been able to remove from the basement before he started work, and paint drips running from window casement down the wall, wall paint streaks on the ceiling, portions of drywall that looked like ripples in water.... Next day, I telephoned the business owner and asked him to meet me at the house to inspect the work.  He was unpleasant on the telephone, but agreed to meet me.  He brought the carpenter with him.  The owner agreed that there were things that needed correcting and redoing and left the carpenter there that day to make the corrections/repairs to his work.  The carpenter was there until about 8:00 p.m.  And when I inspected, there were still portions of the drywall that looked terrible, there were pools of wet paint standing in the window casements, switch covers were missing... etc.  After my complaints the following day, the owner threatened to sue me, stating, "I will sue you. I will get my money." The only mention of money was that I told him I was amazed that he charged $255 a day for such shoddy work.  I had not said I wouldn't pay him, nor had I threatened to withhold payment.  He met me at the house, brought a different carpenter.  This was a Friday.  The second carpenter worked that day and came back the next morning to correct the first carpenter's mistakes.  This was an extremely unpleasant experience on every level.  I will never use Handyman Connection again, now will I recommend this service to anyone else.  The owner was rude, unprofessional, and it was apparent that he only wanted to get his "money" and cared nothing about whether his customer was satisfied.

    They were paid for by the insurance company. The price was high, and the follow-up was so-so. if a third party was paying, I would use, but from a responsiveness and cost standpoint... I would shop around.

    He had to put me off 1 week because he had the stomach flu. He then came and looked at what we needed done and told me that he would have an estimate for us in 1 or 2 days in actuallity we got it about 1 week later. His price was the highest of the 3 that we got estimates from.
