    Casey Powell
Excellent work overall. Casey and his crew were very responsive to my wishes and talked through all of the options. We started with building a deck, but later also screened in my back porch. I am very happy with the quality of the work!

    Chris Edwards Construction
We wanted to replace our existing deck and build a new one with an expanded footprint. Chris was very helpful in suggesting what kind of deck we could build in our space. He was very good in helping us to decide on specific materials and was good to suggest ways to save money in the final design. We did make minor changes to the design after we had finalized our agreement and he was very willing to accommodate with only a minor adjustment to the overall price. He started the project when he said he would and finished very quickly. He then came back in the agreed upon time to paint the deck once it had settled. The work, both construction and painting, is excellent . We are extremely happy with our new deck.

    Chris Edwards Construction
Very smoothly. There were the inveitable small glitches that were responded to immediately. The tile installer, electrical installer, plumbing installer were all top notch.

We have built four houses over our 55 year marriage, two of which I prime contracted myself. Chris Edwards Construction is as good as they come. I can give him my unequivocal reccomendation.

    Romero Roofing and Services LLC
What a breath of fresh air!! I had a leak coming through my screened porch, so I called three roofers to come take a look at it. One roofer failed to show twice. The second roofer gave me a quote and then when I asked for more detail, increased his quote by $8000. Romero was different from the beginning! First of all, I was answered by Dan, who promptly scheduled a time that he could come look at the job. Within 5 minutes of arriving, he diagnosed the problem as being a low-sloped roof. You see, you can't install shingles on a low-sloped roof (between a pitch of 4/12 and 2/12 is borderline ... it can be done with special precautions ... but below 2/12, forget about it). The previous roofer had installed shingles on a pitch of 1.5/12. When I called them to make it right ... they offered to patch it (with Silly Putty and and a glue stick), but not do it correctly. Dan immediately recognized that I had a problem and needed to go with a rolled roofing solution. Not only that, but I needed to have 5 skylights replaced and my chimneys needed re-flashing. The bad news is that none of this comes for free. The good news is that my roof is truly better than new. When we tore off the old shingles, we realized what a snafu had been created, or at the very least ignored, by the previous contractor. The decking was uneven, having 1 and 2 inch gaps (in height) from one decking board to the next. There were holes in the decking and a tremendous amount of water damage. Romero handled all unforeseen issues with aplomb as they went about resolving the issues of the past. They had to build up the decking so that it was flat (a prerequisite for a quality roofing solution) and then proceeded with the re-roofing. Not only did they repair the roof, but the quality of the trim work around the new skylights was excellent and the job was excellently coordinated from start to finish. That was actually the best part of the experience. You know when you're laying in bed and you think of the question that you forgot to ask earlier? No problem. Just text Dan and he'll get right back with an answer. Your phone calls don't go unanswered or ignored. They tell you when they'll be there and then *gasp* they SHOW UP!! I couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship, the professionalism of the staff and just the overall experience. I would not hesitate at all to recommend Romero to anyone! Just call them ... it'll be a breath of fresh air!!

    Bleu Bayou Remodeling, LLC
The project came out beautifully. It was just a pleasure working with all the tradesmen and Andrew is an honest, straight-forward person. They do top rate work and are easy to work with and dependable. The original quote came in a bit higher than I had hoped and Andrew was willing to work with me so that I could bring it down to my budget.  I pulled the permits, bought the windows, had the electrical done by my electrician, and had Junk King do the demolition of the existing greenhouse to save money. He discounted the hanging of the windows to help bring the cost down.  I was really impressed with the framers especially since I had provided a rough SketchUp model and they elaborated on it to blend the new structure to look like it was original to the house.  Ditto on the siding/roofing people that he uses. The siding guys did a great job of matching the details on the rest of the house.  They brought me the ceiling material and I stained it before they put it up. I like doing DIY projects and am finishing the interior myself (as planned). Point is, Andrew was willing to work with me to do the pieces I needed him to do, and let me outsource (or do myself) other pieces to keep this project within my budget. We have other projects that need to be done over the next year or two and will definitely call Dare Remodeling again.

    IMPROVE AMERICA INC
I visited our local annual home show looking for ideas and contractors. There, I talked with two "this is what we do" companies that deal with aluminum and/or vinyl conversions. In hearing their ball park prices, I had to cough and choke a bit, plus it wasn't the style I was looking for. Some how, I missed the Improve America booth. But a friend recommended them and I called Mel the next week. For the next 2+ weeks, we talked about what I wanted and what I could afford (cash). Mel designed a room that would be Step One, but a completely functioning room. Step One: A 12' x 18' room with nine screened windows and a vinyl screen door. Fully framed and reinforced as an addition with electric, a tongue and grooved insulated ceiling, ceiling fan and light, vinyl siding to match our home both exterior AND interior, and indoor outdoor carpeting. Future Step Two: Remove screens and insert nine windows, replace door with an exterior door, tap into existing a/c (my a/c guy says that I have plenty of existing to do this room). Possibly remove interior siding and replace with sheet rock, and replace carpet with nice grey slate. Future Step Three: Talk my wife into allowing me to install a flat screen TV in this room :) All permits were pulled and the first two weeks were spent pouring new footers, lifting the deck to level, and reinforcing it. On Fridays, trash was hauled away. A port-a-potty was placed in the driveway so that the workers would not need to come in the house. Each of the four workers were friendly, hard working individuals. I could tell that care was taken to do the job right. The third week saw more fun things. The framing was completed and the roof was made ready for the roofers. Shingles were found to match and, in spite of a busy roofing season because of the recent tornado damage, Improve America was able to stay on schedule. Week four saw the electrician and the installation of the tongue and groove ceiling which was also painted. Then the siding installers went to work and finally, the gutters were installed. The carpet was the last thing to be installed. All inspections were perfect. I found Improve America to be perfect for our needs and a joy to have on my property. On the final day when the last trash was removed, not only did Wayne, the lead builder, sweep the patio where the trash had been, but also took the hose and washed the patio off. Our neighbors and family have remarked at how well it all looks. I give Mel and Improve America two BIG thumbs up!

He showed up on time for bid, gave written bid the next day. Price was in mid-range with other bids we received. Scheduled start time and the workers showed up on time every day. They cleaned up every afternoon. Very professional and good-looking work.
