    McMurray Boy's Roofing
They responded quickly and politely, arrived when they said they would and were very professional and did a great job. Their price was good and they did not try to sell me a new roof like others did, I would highly recommend them.

Squeegee Man Window & Gutter Cleaning
They showed up. Did let me know they had arrived. Did not ring my doorbell to let me know they had arrived. I want at home but my husband was. He did not hear them working on the gutters. They rang the door to tell him that they were leaving. My husband asked what they had done. The workers showed him a small pile of debris, stated that the gutters were pretty clean and gave him a bill for 125.00. We dont believe they did any cleaning at all. However, I did pay the invoice. I would not recommend these people to anyone

    Roanoke Exterior Wash
He did well. He did job in 2 hours instead of 3 but charged the 3 hour agreed upon price. Would've been nice had he offered a bit of a discount, but otherwise he did a good job. And did a couple of extra yard work items not part of the original deal.

    Technically Aesthetic General Contractors
Excellent. Tyrone was very professional, arrived on time and was very responsive to e-mails and calls for coordination. The three workers showed up on time, kept the area clean, and did quality work. In fact my friends were impressed by how the workers were paying attention to detail and took the time to explain what they were doing. I would not hesitate to contact them again for future work and would recommend them to friends.

The Honey Do Service, Inc. - Bristol, VA
I want to give a pros and cons view of Honey Do, because there is a lot they do right. First, the contractor performed several free inspections. Most commercial companies do not provide free inspections. Honey Do also tended to be less expensive than most services that also inspected our home. They did install pex plumbing correctly, meaning that it has not leaked.
My criticisms have more to do with specifics and the long-range well being of our home. Just months afterwards their work was performed, I had a new pressure-reducer valve installed to fix water pressure since Honey Do indicated that was the final step to doing so. However, I learned that the problem was the size of the pex Honey Do installed--the water line from the street to the house is new, so that was not the issue. Now, if I want to improve the water pressure in our home, I will need to pay a plumber to fix what I paid to have repaired last year. Additionally, HD also left some of the old copper plumbing in place instead of taking it out.
Since, we also had problems with moisture in our crawl space, Honey Do recommended crawl space fans. However, after observing the fans for more than a year, they did not help with the moisture at all. In fact, they caused mold to form on the joists they were located closest to; nor did the french drain pull water away from a particular side of our house, either.
Initially, I was pleased with Honey Do's efforts, but after observing and learning more about plumbing and crawl space ventilation, I'm ambivalent about the work, to say the least.

    Weather Tamer Home Improvements
The work went very well, Mike Howerton did everything he said he would do and more. His crew cleaned up after their mess and was vey helpful during the installation. When we had questions the crew leader kept us informed. Mike is a very helpful and honest business professional and there were no surprises. I will call Mike and the Weather Tamers crew anytime I have a need for his services.

The Honey Do Service, Inc. - Bristol, VA
We entered into a contract with Honey Do in October of 2011 to replace a metal roof due to hail damage.  We chose Honey Do because of their Corporation status but were never told that franchise was a wholly separate entity from the Corporation.  They required half up front for materials ($9400 yes I can't believe I paid that).  Immediately, we were told that we were next on the list.  Well, a month passed with no mention of doing the work.  Every time I spoke with the owner at the time, he said we were next on the list.  I met with Honey Do at the end of December to discuss what was happening.  I was told they HAD to have a guarantee from me that the rest of their money would be available the MOMENT they finished the roof.  I refused, because our house was being fixed through an insurance claim and Wells Fargo wouldn't distribute the money until one of their people inspected the work.  I was then told that my house would be put on hiatus until spring.  So, March rolled around and I sent the owner, Chris Sloce, a letter of termination if all work wasn't completed by 10 days of the receiving the letter with the stipulation that all money would returned or Legal action would ensue.  After the 10 days, I called Mr. Sloce, and to my surprise, he tells me that the Honey Do Corporation just pulled his franchise license and that all unfinished contracts would not be completed.  I contacted the BBB but was given the reply that the Corporation does not fulfill previous obligations from Mr Sloce.  I completely understand that his license should have been negated, but if Honey Do gave him an opt out of having to pay any of his debts, then THEY should have to cover what was lost to the client. I spoke with an attorney about reclaiming the funds but was told that its basically just gone.  So now it is June 2014, no new roof,  and water damage throughout my home.  I have learned a pricey lesson when it comes to home contracts.

    Snowden's Siding Roofing & Windows
Gary Snowden seems like a nice enough guy. He gave a good price on the estimate so I chose him to do the work. Unfortunately I got a bad crew and they had to come back multiple times to fix mistakes.
It took 3 months to "complete" the job because they had to come back 4 times to correct issues that were done wrong the first time.
I still don't think it was done correctly but so far I have not seen any leaks.
I have had new roofs done on other houses since and did not use Snowden's again. I would not recommend Snowden's Roofing.
Beware of the "5 year leak warranty". You don't get anything in writing so I don't know how you would actually enforce it. I was told that I would have to trust them.
Anyway, I would not recommend them and I have not used them since this experience.

    Combs Roofing & Design
We waited about 10 days to insure the repair was working as it was supposed to. After 2 all night heavy rain storms the problem had been fixed. Mr Combs did a professional job, was understanding of our problem and fixed the sky light problem and problems that had been created by company that installed the metal roof. I would recommend Combs Roofing to install a new roof and repairing a damaged roof. My wife and I are very satisfied with the work Combs Rofoing did in stopping the leak from our sky lights

    R & S Gutters
Sam Pickel and his father began their R&S roofing business more than 20 years ago. He was recommended to me by someone who'd been impressed with a precision guttering job he'd done at South Holston. I called and Sam and his wife came in the evening to inspect my damaged and leaking aluminum roof after a tree fell on the deck. They measured for materials and Sam clearly explained various quality / pricing options, and I felt good about making the necessary choices. He said candidly he doesn't negotiate price, that he and his father had always charged according to a fee schedule that was fair for a job done well. The end result was beautiful. I paid a deposit but before the work was completed I had to be away from the area. I was kept informed via email about the progress and his wife (who runs the office) sent photos. I then paid for the remainder of the cost. I was thrilled when I actually saw the new roof and guttering in person, but best of all was staying snug and dry during the heavy rains of this 2013 summer, when 95% of the annual rainfall had already fallen by July. I recommended R&S to a friend who needed a new roof, who was also pleased, and I just contracted with him to do work on my mother's house a year after my new roof. I have confidence that Sam Pickel is impeccably honest and fair, which significantly reduces the stress of paying for repairs.
I'm writing this review not to help him get more business, but because I'm doing a favor for anybody reading this who needs roof work done by an honest craftsman.
