Irrigation System reviews in Brentwood

    Green Scene Irrigation and Landscaping
Green Scene was the lowest quote, seemed friendly and had good reviews. They showed up and were friendly even though one of the workers had badly bloodshot eyes and appeared to be out of it. They installed the sprinkler system and immediately I had problems. Had I known then what I know now I would have been able to establish that the system was leaking very badly just by looking at the water meter. I emailed Jose Garcia about the fact that my yard was like a swamp in certain areas. Someone from Green Scene left a note in the mailbox said water was pooling because "the nozzles were not aimed right" and that they adjusted them. I then sent Jose pictures of pooling water when the system had not been running for weeks. I never heard from him again despite multiple attempts to contact him, these guys are not honest. By the time I figured out that I needed to cut my system off, I figured out that I had over a thousand dollars in water bill overage. Then my landscaping started dying as well as I could not run the sprinkler. The guy who seeds my lawn was able to determine in less than five minutes that the system was leaking a gallon a minute. He described the plumbing as a cluster**** and said he couldn't believe this was done by a pro. This same landscaper was able to find three holes in the plumbing underground at $200 each and replaced a bad backflow valve for $450. He said he was unable to determine where all the leaks were. He said I needed to call in a specialist to fix "this disaster". Called in expert #1 and he wants to basically dig up the whole system. Seeking a second opinion.

The team does outstanding work at reasonable price for all of our lawn care and landscaping. They are on top of the irrigation system monitoring. They did a 30 ft waterfall installation and it looks amazing! They do it all. I'm impressed with their design expertise as well a the ongoing maintenance. Also, they did lighting for the waterfall that was gorgeous. Very responsive!

The work they did was outstanding. The only issue I had was that after requesting the service I was never told if or when they were coming to do it. They just showed up one evening and started work. I had also requested irrigation system service - that request appears to have fallen on deaf ears, because I never got that. Better communication with the customer would be a big help.

The service people showed up a day early, spent an hour or so making adjustments, then tested all valves to assure that all areas of the beds received irrigation. Pricing was fair. Will use them again. All good.

He was great. I thank God that I found him. I had hired a company when we bought our house to repair and old deck and build a retaining wall. It was all done terrible. This was not aesthetic, this was structural. I had no choice but to redo it. As you can see from a previous review of Crenshaw Landscaping, I had some other contractors quote me. Quite a few didn't even show. Crenshaw decided to say his unprofessionalism was because he gauged my personality as someone who would not be satisfied. Horrible lying person. I hired Waterstone, and they were so good. I tried to hire him again for a hardscape project, but he is only doing the irrigation now. They used the existing stones, had to buy a few more, and repaired the horrible work done previously.

They are incompetent and they overcharge. Because of their inability to know what they're doing, they have caused damage to my irrigation system two years in a row and they refuse to remediate. This is a system in ground for watering your lawn. So when it's winterized, one drains the system and pumps compressed air to it and gets it nice and dry so that there is no water remaining, because if water remains in the system, it would then crack pipes and pop ups. They can't figure out how to get the water out. Two years in a row, when I turned the system on initially, there were broken components and I had to secure the system and fix it myself. I asked them to take care of it, but they wouldn't. The problem is, when you use a company like this, you don't know that they messed up until months later when you turn your system back on in the springtime. They don't show up when they say they're going to show up.

I called and emailed several times without receiving a response. I finally flagged down a worker on a different site to get contact information, and an appointment was scheduled the morning of the 31st but it rained. I did not receive a call or message regarding whether or not they will still show. Workers came that afternoon unannounced. I asked them to complete two items: fix a broken pipe and move several heads by proposed stone wall. I told workers that the irrigation system had not been on for years, we decided to wait to move the heads until the stone wall height was determined. The workers did fix the broken pipe. The workers left, and I received bill for 266.91 which included 184.00 for activation of irrigation system. However I did not request activation of the irrigation system, therefore I had contacted B and E irrigation to dispute the charge, and spoke with Mr. Emerson who is in both the service and accounting department. Mr. Emerson indicated that he would remove the 184.00 for activation of the system, but would have to charge me the labor charge of 52.50 per man hour for the time they were there. This increased the labor charge by 103.00, netting a reduction in the bill of 81.00. I did not feel that was adequate or fair, but Mr. Emerson would not reduce the bill further. When I asked to speak with someone else in the company about the charge, Mr. Emerson indicated was the person to make the decision. Although I still the sprinkler heads removed by the proposed stone wall, I will be contacting another company to preform this work. Please be aware that B and E irrigation labor charge for repairs is 52.50 per man per hour.

We kept receiving emails from the city once our irrigation system was turned on in May saying that our system had failed.  I called the company and they came out and repaired it. I got other letters from the city but was assured the problem had been repaired.  When I received a final notice of water shut off to our home, my husband and I called all numbers on the website.  A couple of the voicemail boxes were full and no one ever returned our call; however, the service department did contact me back through email, as I had emailed them as well.  They did come back and retest the system with 2 weeks to spare; however, the city didn't receive the "pass" test report until I kept emailing them.  While they had performed in the past, I have lost confidence in their follow through and have changed companies.

The quality and customer service is absolutely gone.  They were nearly a month late shutting down our system last winter.  The result was a pipe rupture that they charged plenty to repair.  I have had three major issues this year.  On each occasion I call and it takes an average of 3 days to get a call back, even when I used the "emergency line."  It averaged another 4 days to get the repair done even when there was water leaking into my house.  I don't know what has happened to them but they are gone.

They were very responsive and were at my house within a few hours of contacting them (for the first time I used them)!  The job was able to be done right away which was convenient.  The price seemed a little high, as I'd had the same valve replaced for less in the past, however it was not done properly by the other company, and Green Scene provides a warranty on their work.  They also inspected/adjusted my sprinklers at no charge, and gave me a very good price for lawn maintenance so I have just changed to them for weekly lawn care.
