This was the second time we left our two dogs with them.  One of our dogs is timid around new people and places.   The first time she was very timid and unsure, but the second time we walked in the door and she was excited. They stay in seperate areas.  There is a private, fenced in, open, grassy area where they run and play several times a day.   The staff are extremely friendly and accomadating.
We have also taken our two dogs and cat there several times.  The first time was a year ago.  Our cat was not acting like himself.  He was clingy and wasn't using the litter box in his regular way.   We called them, only place open at the time, 6:10 Thursday, (and all fairness to other vets, third place we checked.).  We made a 6:30 appoitment.  when we got there we were greeted promptly by the friendly staff.  Dr Mei-Yao Louis was waiting for us at the desk.  She took me and our cat to a room and was very inquisitive, concerned, and overall awesome!   She answered every question we had.  she was straight forward about what she was doing and what the next step should be.  She explained everything she was doing and why.   She explained treatment options plus the pros and cons of the options.   She did point out the costs.  She treated promptly treate our cat.  She stayed after closing, 7:00 pm, to finish treatment and explain all instructions of his treatment.  We were extremely impressed when she called at 6:00 pm Saturday to follow up on his progress.   I also asked questions about our cat, not related to the present issue.  She answered the questions and also looked at his eye to answer the questions.   I have taken our animals to other vets in Watertown.  Dr. Lewis is the only one that has called to follow up on treatment after each visit.
We are moving over 70 miles away and plan on bring them back for treatment!

If the prescribed meds didn't work, the Vet said the next step would be to try giving her a tranquilizer before we are going to leave her alone to see if that would work.  We haven't decided if we are going to take that step or just live with the situation as we have for the last 5 plus years.

Everything went very well. I would never take my 2 bassets anywhere else. All of my dogs have gone to Care Small Animal Hospital. They are a caring, professional group of people. When our dogs are boarded or have a procedure, the staff calls the next day to see how our dog(s) are doing. My dogs love to go to Dr. Rieb and their "friends". Care Small Animal does things for the community as well. They sponsor pictures with Santa with proceeds going to our local human society, canine carolling at our local nursing homes and are a part of Bark in the Park - and informational evening at the dog park. They provide organized play time each month for the dogs and offer puppy kindergarten and dog obedience. I can't brag enough about them!

Professionally speaking, I thought she was rude and pompous and conceited and thought she was doing me a favor by taking me as a customer.
