I live in Vermillion SD and the local contractors simply weren't competitive. Guarantee used the same materials, cost 25% less, and was able to give me a ten year workmanship warranty instead of one year because they are certified by GAF. They even got me a $250 veteran's rebate from GAF. They were able to schedule the job in a couple weeks instead of a couple months like the locals. They always answered my calls (they have a staffed office) and showed up when they said they would. I highly recommend calling them for a quote. It's free and they don't get upset when they find out you're getting quotes from more than one contractor.

Excellent & fast service. Job done in one day, came in right on budget. The owner personally finished job site clean up and quality check. Everything was done to my specifications. Good selection of colors for the shingles, too. I also need the soffit/facia replaced, and while Dave doesn't do this, he gave me a recommendation who I will call. Need a roof? Give Dave a call.

Roofing took 2 days.  One to tear off old shingle and second day to put new shingles on.  The price and the fact that the Hispanic family that came to do the work brought young children were definite draw backs to this company.

the first day he showed up a half hour late but it was because his dump truck had a flat tire. Also a couple of his workers were no shows. He was professional and they immediately got to work. They worked well together and you could tell they had done this many times. I added doing my shed. With the shed and slightly late he had to come back the next day. They wrapped it up in the morning and it looks great. It has been really windy for the two days since he finished and the roof is holding up well. I mean really windy. Like 60 MPH windy.

On September 22, 2010, we had a hailstorm in our area that required our roof to be re-shingled. I wanted to wait until spring to replace the shingles because of the late fall and the high winds that we get in the winter. Our claims adjuster recommended that we replace our roof immediately so we began to entertain bids. On October 5, 2010, we received and accepted a bid from Zimmer & Zimmer.  During my conversation with George Zimmer, I told him that we plan to put a roof over our deck the following summer. I wanted to make sure that the shingles would match. George said that he would take care of it. We chose Zimmer & Zimmer because they were very professional in appearance. They were from Sioux Falls and I personally knew their salesman. We also checked online with the Better Business Bureau and saw no negative comments. The bid that we accepted was $9544.00. The following week Zimmer & Zimmer started tearing the shingles off our roof. They asked for $5000 of the bid for materials. I wrote a check and gave it to Tony Zimmer. When Tony accepted the check, he asked for me to wait as he went to find George.  Very shortly, Tony and George returned. George asked me if I bank anywhere else other than Wells Fargo. I said that I do. George asked if he could have a check from another bank or cash. I said that I would go to Wells Fargo in Vermillion, cash it, and bring back the money. This was the first sign of suspicion that I had of this company, but I was already committed as shingles had been torn off my roof, and I had signed the bid offer. At the competition of the job, George gave me the remainder of the bill and was quite urgent to get paid. The remainder of the bid was $5448. I reminded George that I had paid $5000 down of the bid, which was $9544. The difference should be $4544. George said that the extra $904 was for the shingles for the roof extension that I planned to add the following summer. He also said that if I would pay him cash again, he would take $100 off. I gave George $5348 in cash. Our roof received damage throughout the winter and spring from high winds and many shingles that did not seal down. We had a great deal of difficulty getting Zimmer & Zimmer to come out to repair our roof. Finally on June 16th, George and an employee came out and repaired our roof. I have never received the additional shingles for the roof extension. I have spoken to George about the matter and he said he doesn’t remember. He said he would look into it but it is still unresolved.

He was very professional. Jack and his son were great to work with. The crew came early (7 am) and finished and left by 2 pm. Also, I found them to be honest and efficient.
