  • It was better than I expected, he was very professional and explained things as I went, which was appreciated, as this was my first root canal, it was a little scary. If I ever need another one, I would not hesitate to go back to Dr Lavin.

  • No one wants to go to get a root canal, but I felt comfortable, and would definately recommend Dr Lavin for anyone's root canal. I felt like I was being taken care of by a firend, like he honestly cared for me and my teeth, and how they felt, I was very impressed. I hope I dont need to go back, but if I do I know I will be in the best hands possible.

  • Unless most other doctor's appointments, when I walked in the door, there was no waiting.  They ushered me straight back to a room and began my tooth cleaning.  Thy hygienist was very nice and very thorough.  After my cleaning, the dentist came in and reviewed my scans and looked at my teeth.  All was well but she suggested to get a power tooth brush to help get my teeth cleaner in between them since I hate flossing.

  • My initial visit was for a filling that I neeeded repaired.   I haven't been to the dentist in about 5 years but my teeth are healthy and usually don't need any work done.  Just like the previous comment they took picture and xrays and I spent 2 hours in their office.  The hygenist told me that they are now recommending that all silver fillings be replaced and they were recommending that I cap three of my teeth that have silver fillings. The dentist came in and confirmed that I should cap my teeth.  I asked her if the teeth were bad and if there was a cavity under the filling the dentist said she won't know until she "gets in there."  I again asked her why my silver fillings need to be replaced and she said they are old and are starting to crack your tooth.  In my 20 years since I've had those fillings I have never had a dentist tell me my teeth were cracked.  Just like the previous comment I too got ushered into the financial person and was told the whole treatment  would be $5,500 and my insurance would only cover $1,000 less the visit today.  I about fell over!!  Never in my life have I been told that much by a dentist....my braces were more than that!!  I then called back and asked them to figure if I just did my chipped filling (which is why I was there to begin with).  She called me back and said $2,500 and insurance will only pay $750.  Again I have been to the dentist many times in the last 30 years as an adult, and a filling is usually about $200 plus a $100 cleaning.  

    WOW!  These gals are WAY over priced and I think are running some kind of racket to scare you into paying for something you don't need.   Now of course, I can't switch dentists because I've had xrays and a visit and insurance won't pay for that twice.

  • I went here because of a keloland deal of the day. My first unease came when they ushered me into the financial persons office to get aquainted. I told them I did not think I would need to "finance" anything, as I have never had trouble with my teeth and get regular cleanings. The hygenist took xrays and cleanded my teeth. She was very nice and personable. the xrays that they use put the pictures on a tv screen in front of the chair so you can see your teeth. She explained that I had a small cavity inbetween 2 teeth, and that she didnt like the looks of my fillings. She said that the dentist would come in and take a look. The dentist confirmed it and I was back in the financial persons office learning all about financing the $600 I was going to need to get all this repaired. I kind of fell like they were getting people in the door with the inexpensive first office visit to set them up for further work. The dentist did ask if I had any questions but the hygenist had explained it so I did not. I spent 2 hours in the dentist office and 2 minutes with the dentist. I will be looking for another dentist. I will be interested in seeing if I need the same amount of treatment at the next place.

  • I took my son to the doctor complaining of a sinus infection. It turned out he had a major infection in his teeth. This was so bad his face was swollen and we were told to put him on antibiotics immed. and get him into a dentist. Also, go to emergency room if anything changes (walking, not waking, etc.). My ex-husband was going to pay this bill but when contacted backed out. I asked if I could post date a check for the following Friday (which they have always alowed me) and was told I could. They took my son in the procedure room and took x-rays. After that they said they couldn't work on him unless I could write a check that day. X-rays were already done. They denied service to my son based on the fact that I owed them $30,00. He was in a life or death situation and they already preformed services. When we left I was asked to write a check for over significantly more than the bill I received. I would not do so because I feel they preformed the service telling me incorrect information. We couldn't even get the x-rays to take to another dentist that day, but they wanted me to pay for them and they would not work on my son. I do not believe I have ever owed them a balance before. After argueing with us in front of their other patients, we left and I had to take my son to the emergency room because he was throwing up blood. Informed dentist of this. Left emergency room and went straight to another dentist and they took one look at him and got him in right away. Unfortunately, they couldn't work on him until the next day because he couldn't keep the antibiotics down. We went back to that dentist early the next morning and the dentist from Dental Care Assoc. called me. After we talked and I explained I had recently been disabled, was having major surgery, had a fire, had to move, etc., The dentist at Dental Care Assoc.said his staff should have let my son in the day before. When I got the bill it was for significantly less than they asked me to pay the pay of the service.. I called the office and was told I misunderstood everything and they could not help me. They would hang up on me (several times) and denied me any future services.I paid my portion on the bill in full and half of my son's portion and received notice that the remaining portion was written off. I called to see if I was still denied services and I am because the dentist is letting his staff make this decision. Staff very unprofessional. Argue in front of other patients. Mislead you before performing services and then they take no responsibility for any of their actions. I asked them if hanging up was professional and they said yes.
