Hvac Repair reviews in Sioux Falls

    Prairie Sons Inc
Prairie Sons' ownership and business model is malicious and unprofessional. We did not even hire them for work, rather they came to the wrong house, entered our house while no one was home, uninstalled our dishwasher, and reinstalled a new machine (that we neither asked for nor gave them permission to install). Owner Frank Howe then insisted we pay for the service and machine. Howe then sent slanderous texts to my husband and filed in small claims court. We did not ask for our privacy to be violated, the appliance, or trouble that has ensued since, and Prairie Sons has caused my family unnecessary emotional distress - all over a $150 appliance. We knew better than to ever go to them for service, but their inexcusable mistake and course of action since have sealed the deal. Please seek out one of the many other credible plumbing/HVAC outfits in the area.

    Golden Rule Service
Alan was the one who came out very quickly after I called the office and requested a quote. He gave us some good options and we were able to work out a package that would get the job done and stay within my expectations. We had a Trane package put in since Trane was the product line we used to carry at The Home Depot (I am a 17 year vet there and now retired). We set up a date for the install and the installer was right on time only to find the furnace unit damaged in shipping. Good luck was with us as they checked with their distributor immediately and they had several more units just arrive that morning with one that was in perfect shape. So the install was on and done in one day and the next morning. They caught a couple issues with the old electrical install but corrected them without a hitch. There were a couple issues with the physical install caught by the city inspector but the guys were right back the next day to perform the fix. I'm not sure why they missed those issues but it was explained that there were new items in the code and in the end, they were not major items. The final cost was just as quoted before the job began without any type of surprises to run up the bill. The cost was more than we expected overall but the product is top quality. The cleanup was very good and we had good air conditioning that evening.

    Golden Rule Service
Alan was EXCELLENT. He was very fast, professional and saved the day for my family. We had an emergency pipe burst and no one else could get us in today because they were too busy to come out for a small leak. Bottom line... the other companies in town are *** HOLES. One of the other companies in town was going to charge me $109 just to show up and said they still wouldnt be able to fix it until Tuesday! Golden Rule came same day and fixed it within an hour for a very reasonable price. From now on Im calling Golden Rule!! ALANS THE BOMB!!

    Aire Serv of Sioux Empire
Every thing was very thorough, he spent a lot of time looking over the furnace and then we were told the heat exchanger needed to be replaced and the issue needed to be addressed soon. We received a high price for the labor as the part should be under warranty. We decided to get a second opinion and found out there was nothing wrong with the furnace.

    Golden Rule Service
Alan and James were polite and helpful. They worked very efficiently to fix my air conditioner which was leaking into my furnace when it was on. They showed up on time in professional looking trucks and were clean. I appreciate everything you did to help get my air conditioner up and running so quickly. I would highly recommend and will definitely use again. Brittany was also very friendly on the phone. If I could give six stars on my review I would! Thank you!

    Howe Heating & Plumbing Inc
I was not very happy with them. They did not give me all the facts before they installed the furnace. They showed up on time and replaced the furnace. The problem is they did not give me all the information. They replaced it with a high efficiency furnace and they stated how they were going to vent the furnace out. When they actually completed the work, it would not vent as they told me it was going to be and it ruined the front face of my house. The way they vent it, the heating vents were right next to the front door so it just looks really bad. So, I thought it was nothing how they were going to vent it and then, I would not keep going with the high efficiency and that is not what they said either. The guy did not speak English all the best and that was lost in translation. So, it was very frustrating.

Frisbee Plumbing Heating Air Conditioning & Electr
They came in, found the cause, repaired the leaking area, and at my request, also installed a different drain plug. They also checked both tub drain and shower head to be sure there were no other areas leaking. I called the company and spoke to service department who said they happened to have a plumber who would be available later that morning. Two hours later, they were at my home. Very professional, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly people. They were in and out of here within an hour or so. Very pleased.

    Aire Serv of Sioux Empire
Aire Serv is very professional - the technician arrived right on time in a snazzy-looking Aire Serv van. After evaluating the problem, he listed all proposed work items individually on an iPad/Tablet. After discussion, he performed the approved work and left, with the A/C unit working fine. That's the good news. The bad news is that Aire Serv is HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE. The work that I guesstimated would be around $300.00 was quoted at over $1250.00, with an option/recommendation to replace the unit for ~$5,000.00. I am used to HVAC repairs being charged by the hour with extra for parts, which is how I did my guesstimating. Rather then that method, the work was quoted per item, at a rate that appeared to be as if each was a separate trip from the home office. Examples: replace the contactor $179.08 replace contactor wires $195.82 clean the unit $ 99.00 charge the system (add coolant) $164.57 add coolant leak sealant $245.52 Replacing the contactor wires took only a short time and required only a few standard gauge wires. Cleaning the unit I can do myself. I approved about $550 of the work to get the problem solved that day. Summary: if you want to pay for very good service from a guy in a fancy truck, wearing a clean uniform and using the latest technology for billing, call Aire Serv. If you just want to get some HVAC work done at a FAIR price, call someone else.

    Howe Heating & Plumbing Inc
They showed up in under 15 minutes of my call. Quickly diagnosed my problem and scheduled the installation two days after. Install went smoothly. They were out of the unit that they quoted me on, but upgraded at no additional charge.

    Hander, Inc. Plumbing & Heating
Hander Inc sent a technician very quickly to fix a broken pipe in our basement which has caused flooding.  We had never worked with Hander Inc before but they had an after hours emergency service we needed.   The great guy who came spent all day working, said he had fixed it, and left.  However, the next morning we had new standing water in the basement from the same pipe.  We called Hander Inc back that next morning and they sent someone else.  This person said the first guy had used the wrong type of glue.  The second guy resealed the joints  with a new type of glue and left, declaring the job fixed.  The next morning there was more new water standing in the basement.  We called Hander Inc again and they sent out a third guy.  This guy said that the second guy had mistakenly lifted the pipe too much when re-doing the glue and removed it from the seal.  The third guy placed the pipe back where it was supposed to be, said it was all fixed and left.     After this third correction there was no additional water leaking from that pipe.
