AQuality Storage BuildingsI want to tell you what a wonderful job Quality Storage Buildings is doing with service as well as with the qualilty of the shed itself. I worked with Matt to order the shed and he was wonderful about answering my questions about preparation of my site and in coordinating delivery. I also worked with Jerry who delivered my shed. Jerry was very skilled in using his equipment to get the shed set in just the right place. Jerry was also kind and patient with me with regard to placement. He went above and beyond by removing my basketball hoop and placing it back into the ground when he was finished. Jerry also cut a branch off of my tree that was obstructing the placement. Because I am a single woman with no one available to help me with those things, this was very much appreciated! I felt they went above and beyond with service and the shed was worth every penny. Far better quality than anything else I had seen.- Monica L.

AH & B BuildersGetting the blessing of the historical preservation office for our plans of a detached three-stall two story garage was the easy part. Finding a builder who would construct it? Not so easy. That's because we wanted a wide-open second story workroom free of trusses, and only one builder out of six would consider hand-framing. Besides the open space, the garage ? or carriage house, as we came to call it due to its historical accuracy ? had to have a steep roof matching that our our 1903 historic home, complete with gables. Let me put it this way: when the work was done, the city building inspector complemented H & B Builders for their beautiful hand-framing! It would not be an understatement to say that H & B Builders' Jason and Josh are a dream team: hard-working, professional, with an attention to detail and an ability to make last-minute additions painless. The fluted columns accent the carriage house and match those found on the exterior of our home is just one example of their dedication. The narrow siding to match that of our home another. The list goes on... The finished "garage" is a joy to use and to behold. And the second story quilting room that floods with sunlight through all those dormers? A dreamy space. Thanks, Jason and Josh!- Alexis X.

AHometown RemodelingOctober, 2012--John and his crew winterized my garage and turned the rafter section into a storage area complete with drop-down steps. The work was done timely and accurately. For what they did, I felt we would have been charged more by any number of other contractors, many of whom would not have done the work nearly as well. The results were fantastic. We had a normal winter, and where water would have frozen before, I now had a workspace that was as toasty as our TV room. It made my home-based business flow much smoother. I should also mention that they worked around the mess we had in our garage with great efficiency. End of May-August, 2011--This is when we were first introduced to John. I had a roofing project started by someone else who left the roof bare except for the tar paper. 1-inch rains had been occurring about 3 times a week through May and a good storm with wind would have removed the paper and destroyed the roof (we didn't know an 18-month drought was just beginning, but that's another story). When I asked a friend, they told me about John. I called him on a Sunday and pleaded my case. He had a number of other jobs that needed to be started, but because I was in a serious predicament and it wouldn't hurt any of his current customers to have him away for a day, he came by on Monday and finished the roofing. We have never seen anything done so quickly and accurately. In one day, one man installed a beautiful roof that still looks brand new. Since the drought seems to have ended, we've had it tested by a few rains and no moisture has gotten through. In spite of the fact that he could have charged me a confiscatory rate, he actually charged me less than I thought it would have been. Later that summer, John did an excellent job at replacing the rotted board that border the roof along the side of the garage with a white plastic board that perfectly matched the paint. He then made us a set of plastic gables that will last forever for the top of our house. They look fantastic and our occasional bat and mouse visits were eliminated (mice were climbing the vines). Summer 2012--My wife is a great gardener and has always wanted window flower boxes. John fabricated some out of a plastic the likes of which he'd used on the gables, however, they were supported with some steel frames that were bolted into the brick of the house. A grown man (maybe 2) could stand on them without them falling or tearing away and more importantly, my wife and all the neighbors absolutely love them. The cost of these was about what we'd have paid for some of the nice prefabs, which are of no better quality than John's and we still would have had to install them ourselves. SUMMARY: In John, we feel we have finally found our one go-to contractor who can make or fix just about anything that can be made or fixed. Both my wife and I frequently recommend him. Joe H.- Joe H.

DI had Home Solutions replace all of my windows and a sliding door. It was not a good experience at all. To highlight the worst parts: 1.Eric gave me a quote of $12000 of which $6000 was labor so $429 per window. He gave no contract. 2. If you don’t use his terms, he “doesn’t understand what you are saying.” Trim, even pointing to it, means nothing to him. 3. He only installed the windows. He never framed them out and brought it back to original. He put trim around the windows outside but never painted them. He never discussed it with me that he wasn’t going to paint the outside trim. He never said he was not going to frame out the windows. 4. Eric said he would put in the sliding door screen door knob and adjust the screen door. When I emailed him and asked him to do that along with straightening a very crooked board and putting a cable back on the house, Eric said his attorney was putting a mechanics lien against my house as we speak because I would only write him and he said I wasn’t communicating with him. My attorney told me to get everything in writing. When I said that’s fine, I will be talking to my attorney, he then states “let’s start over.” He wanted to be paid BEFORE this work was done He said “I was playing a game.” I have the email where he wrote that just because I wanted 4 things done before paying him. 5. Eric’s company scraped off the paint of my siding that was just painted in May. He did not repair it. His employees chipped huge chips from my brand new siding and would not fix it besides putting caulking over it – no painting it, no smoothing it out. He felt crooked boards were acceptable. The windows were not installed evenly in the window hole. I have pictures of all of this and the tests if anyone wants to see them. His employees messed up the landscaping around the house, broke bushes and left garbage all over. For $400 plus a window, they can clean up. They charged me $600 for a dumpster that they threw garbage in from another site. I paid for another person’s garbage being disposed of or perhaps Eric charged them money too. 6. I asked another contractor to come over – a male – and Eric changed his attitude. I told Eric that I was refi – ing my house. When the other contractor was there, Eric said that appraisers would over look not framed out windows. Even the other contractor agreed that they don’t do that. 7. I took a loan out for the windows. I repeatedly asked Eric if $12500 was all I needed, the price went up due to a complication on windows. He said yes. After Eric put the windows in, he said he would give me an estimate to frame out the windows. When I asked for him to do the 4 things, Eric refused to give the estimate. He “doesn’t do estimates for free” is what he said. His employees came over the day of the City inspection with Eric, they did the four items, he was paid and then said that he would send me the estimate for framing the windows. I told him I didn’t want it. He told me that he was going to send it anyway, just in case I wanted him to do it. Estimate was $4000 dollars for 12 windows or $334 a window more. 8. Be very careful with Home Solutions if you chose to use them. I can show all the pictures, texts and emails to you if you want to help you understand how they work.
