Really went well! I asked them to restretch my lower level carpet and they were responsive and sent a great installer. They were really nice to help me even though I hadn't gotten the carpet from them (I've gotten other carpet from them before and all went well).

    Dakota Floors
I was willing to consider similar alternatives to the sample I'd brought, with some professional advice. Little was offered. While there was obviously a personality conflict between the salesman and I, his dismissal of us seemed wholly unwarranted. Alternate products/sales people could have been offered, instead. I was ready to buy, but Dakota Floors was unwilling to sell, for whatever reason.

    Graham Floor Covering
Bob removed the old carpet quickly and efficiently and suggested the floor be painted to reduce odors from the old floor.  He was flexible with time - removing the carpet a week before so I had time to paint the floor.
Bob Graham did an excellent job laying the hardwood.  He was very particular about the wood and the overall look of the room when it was finished.  Bob made suggestions to save money, but also suggestions to improve the look of the room, like vent covers and baseboard.  Bob wanted the entries from the front door and into the kitchen to flow well and not create an area to trip over.  He looked for wood that fit the change in height.  He was very particular, reducers were too high and went to store to find the correct wood type.  he finished any wood he needed.
Bob also laid on his stomach to remove old carpet from under a cabinet that was installed over the carpet.  He then cut the wood and glued it, so it appeared the cabinet was installed over the wood. He added $115 to his bid for this extra work, but it was worth it.  The finished floor is beautiful.

The quality of the flooring and installation are fine. The professionalism of John at the store is sorely lacking.
The initial estimate was that it would be 3 hours of preparation for and quot;grind concrete smooth and patchand quot;. The entire floor was already smoothed concrete with two small areas (about 15 sq ft) that had to be ground and smoothed. The itemized estimate and agreement included and quot;Floor prepand quot; for $60, installation for $910, 4 gallons of adhesive for $169 in addition to the $300 for 3 hours of grind and smooth.
The installer himself came to preview the work and said the grinding and smoothing would be less than an hour and that whole job about 5 hours.
When we returned the samples we had, John asked if we had receive the invoice or the balance. We had not received any invoice in the mail so he printed one and had billed us for the entire 3 hours of grind and smooth in the original estimate. We objected and insisted he remove the extra charge.
He told our general contractor it would take 3 full boxes of tile for the bathroom. The contractor only needed two. When he returned the unopened box of tile, John told our GC that there would be no credit due to and quot;restocking chargesand quot;.
It appears he tried to make up what he billed us for but was not correct by not giving credit for the tile.
I will not do any business with them in the future.

Good communication with job status. We were consulted whenever questions arose regarding our preferences. We were free to inquire at anytime day or evening with any questions we had. Work progressed according to schedule. As the job took place within our living quarters, the area was fully cleaned prior to each day's quitting time.

We bought our house in mid-May 2012 and planned to move in July 1. We did the demo work ourselves. Our first contractor and crew was slow, disorganized, and messy. They had no sense of time. We hired Paul to put up our fence about mid-June, but when he saw the state of our house project, we ended up talking about that and hiring him to take over as general contractor. He brought in extra people to try to meet our deadline.
When Paul came on board the beams had been replaced, some electrical and plumbing work had been done, the gas furnace was in, but the water heater still needed to be installed. The windows and patio door were in. The basement stairs had been done and work started on the downstairs bath. The walls were still at the studs. The place was a mess.
Paul put together a crew that worked efficiently and even cleaned up at the end of each day. A lot of the previous plumbing work had to be redone. Apparently we'd had an unlicensed plumber previously. The on-demand heater was difficult to install but the new plumbing crew figured it out together with our furnace guy. Paul brought in a drywaller who did a wonderful job getting the walls up and finished. They even painted which we had planned to do ourselves.
We could always contact him by text him to find out how things were going, what he needed. We didn't feel like we had to be there every day to stay on top of things. He understood our time schedule. We didn't feel like we were walking through a dump when we visited the house. He helped us through the inspection process. We didn't finish quite on time, but considering everything we did well to be just a few days later. We ended up spending a lot more money than we'd anticipated, but we got quality work done when we needed it.

    Dakota Floors
We contacted dakota floors, looked at several samples of refinishing for the living room hardwood. We also decided on the flooring replacement for the kitchen and the bathroom. The sales people were friendly, and knowledgeable. They visited the home, measured the flooring, and sent a quote to us in short order. They made sure they could do the flooring in a single time frame, rather coming back 2 or 3 times to do get the job done. We knew the living room floor had a lot of issues, and they kept us informed of every issue they had. The living room floor turned out absolutely wonderful. The room was cleaned and could not find any wood dust anywhere in the house. We chose the oil rubbed finish, which really brings out the wood grain. The installers then installed the bathroom LVT flooring, which turned out to be better than what we expected it to look. The kitchen was also done in an LVT flooring that is really hard to distinguish from real wood. The installers even moved the appliances back into place for us, no charge. The fit and finish of the LVT flooring was impeccible. We are going to be selling this house in a few years, and we will definitely use Dakota Floors again without any hesitation.

They were very careful in their recommendation of the right kind of floor that would work over a heated floor. They had specialists that were able to provide good advice regarding the kind of multi-color wood pattern that will work well decoratively with the rest of the house and will stay attached reliably to the heated floor. The wood flooring required many intricate cuts to make the pattern look right. They were very careful to prevent the spread of saw dust into the house. The work was done very professionally and the pattern came out even better than we were expecting. They cleaned up after themselves. The price was exactly as quoted and the job was completed on time. The only difficulty was the manufacturer didn't send the amount of molding that was requested so that last little bit remains.

We have underfloor heating that restricts the kind of pad and carpeting you can use without interfering with the way the floor heats the house. They understood the issues involved and were very helpful in identifying carpeting that satisfied the heating demands but still provided the soft feel of high pile carpeting. Their installers arrived on time, took the old carpeting out, installed the new carpeting, and cut some of the old carpeting out for use to use as carpet runners elsewhere in the house. The seams they made were transparent and they cleaned up after themselves completely. Excellent work. Completely satisfied.

I made appointments with them and they didn't show up or call back. I think it's very unreliable. They were nice the first time they came out, not showing up was one thing but not calling is another.
