    Groundbreaking Construction,llc
Jesse , Chris and crew of Groundbreaking Construction did an excellent job of replacing the sewer line from the street to my house.  They had to excavate around a water main, other sewer lines, two natural gas pipes, and my house water line.  City did not know where my sewer line was located so contractor had to find main sewer line in street and follow it to house.  They were very methodical in the excavating, keeping me informed all the time of their progress.  Fortunately they did find the separation and sewer line break before it entered the house.
Sewer line had to be replaced because the line was originally not installed correctly and caused the breakage and subsequent separation.   Groundbreaking Construction not only replaced the sewer line according to proper standards, but backfilled and compacted the soil as it should have originally been upon installation.
I highly recommend them.  They are professional, experts in their field, and willing to go the extra mile to provide good customer service.

The weather was not on our side but they worked very hard to get it done on the time we had set.  Always cleaned up at the end of the day and always answered any questions that we had.  I would recommend to any one that wants a project done right!!!!

    Concrete Visions LLC
Corey and his team did a fabulous job for us. They broke up the old patio and hauled it away. They then mapped out, leveled and poured our new patio.
If you need concrete work, this is your company! Corey was always available or got back to us right away while we were in the planning stages of this project. He is very busy, but we never felt we came second to anything.

Great experience. Contractor showed up quickly, completed the job promptly and thoroughly, communicated clearly, and the final product is exactly what we wanted and works and looks great. Would definitely hire again.

When I could not get other contractor to call me back, Groundbreaking was back to me in a matter of hours.

They came out the same day and assessed my problem. Gave me a very competitive bid. When I accepted, they were out the next day and dug the trench under my gas line x2 and connected me to my functioning cleanout. The work was done in a timely manner and with professional quality.
I would definitely use these guys again should the need arise.

They are a family owned company and I was very impressed with the individual that owns the company. He was very polite and gave us some references. I didn't know where some of the places were and he gave me some information by e-mail as to how to find those. All the people I talked to were very happy with the work that he had done. He was supposed to do a driveway and some concrete pads, but he wasn't going to put any rebar in. He said that the main process is how you set up underneath, but I didn't feel comfortable with that. Therefore, we chose another company that does put rebar in. Although it's not required, I just felt a little more comfortable with the rebar being put in.

    DAN HOLM CONCRETE
Dan showed up late. Changed the price. Did not get the proper permits which delayed the work. Dan did not size the foundation properly which delayed the project another day. There was no good compaction of the aggregate which has made the foundation fall on one side considerably to the point of needing mudjacking. His employees did not show much concern for quality but to make a quick job and only do enough to last two years before it had to be expensively repaired.

    Black Hills Stone Mansonry
The contractor was initially very good to work with, I had used him before for two previous projects on the interior of the house and was happy with the work.  For the the project in question he was given a hand sketched structural drawing of the desired work.  He did not supply an initial cost and but it came in much higher than anticipated.  He charged $2200.00 to install 4 Concrete Mansonry (CMU) pillars fully grouted with rebar and 4 Anchor bolts for the future base plate and column above.  This work was completed in November 2010.  We were not there to observe the work being completed but paid him immediately after the work was finished as he stated the work was done exactly according to the structural drawing.  At the time of completion he was aware that we planned to hire him to complete rock facing of the project after the columns and finished structure had been installed.  Because we live out of state we were unable to see the origninal CMU work until a site visit in May 2011.  At the time of the site visit we noticed that the anchor bolts were crooked and did not stick out enough for proper base plate installation.  We called him to make him aware of the issue even though we had already paid.  The steel contractor had to make some modifications to the base plates to accomodate the irregular anchor bolt configuration.  When we spoke with him in May, and made notice of the issues we told him that the structure was being installed and we would need the rock work completed.  At that time he said he would give a final bid for the work.  We asked him on multiple occasions to give a bid on the rock work with no response.  In the meantime we had put the house on the market and got an offer.  We made multiple attempts to contact him with no response as it was urgent that we get the work done.  He avoided calls by myself and fiance.  He finally answered his phone after my real estate agent called him.  He was scheduled to complete the work the final week of June.    He bided out the final rock work at $2500.00. The final structure was installed the last week of June 2011 as planned.   He arrived on site the 28th of June and called me saying that the work was more than he anticipated and would charge me $3300.00 instead of the $2500.00 he stated earlier, because it would take 3 days and he would have to pull guys from other job sites.  After a few minutes of negotiating he became beligerant and was cussing at me over the phone.  He threatened to walk off the job if I did not pay him the full amount demanded.  He knew that I was scheduled to sell the house in a week and took advantage of the situation to increase his profit.  In the end the work took him less than 2 days but still charged the extra money.  Buyer beware of this mason.  He can be good if kept to a written bid and supervised, bad if you are not at the site and are in need of a trustworthy individual.
