    Affordable Quality Marble & Granite
My husband and I were out looking for tile for our bathroom. We went to this company that had sheets of granite out front of their shop and stopped in. We were informed that they sold floor tile at their store in town. So as we were already there and have wanted granite countertops our whole life we thought we would take a look at what they had. It was very pretty granite and many styles. And my husband say to me you know if we put new tile in the bathroom the counter is not going to look so good. So maybe we need to get a new granite countertop. Which also lead to getting new granite countertops for the kitchen. The husband and wife team that owns this company were extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the products that they sale. So we picked out the granite for the kitchen and master bathroom. The granite for the kitchen has veins that run the whole length of the slab and it would take two slabs for our kitchen. We asked if he could cut it where the veins would be running in order together through every piece of the countertop. And he said yes I can..We also asked about the seams how many would there be where would they be and could they been seen. He said that there
would probably be two seams about two feet or so on each side of the sink. And you would not be able to see the seams because they use a machine that gets the seam so tight you cant even see them there. So from there we left and went to pick out the tile at their store. Next a worker came late to our house to make a template of our kitchen and bathroom. He did take off his shoes so he would not mess up our hardwood floors. A day or so latter I received a call from the wife asking if I could take my sink to their shop so it could be cut in the granite. The guy who came to my house to do the template was suppose to bring the sink back with him but did not. So I took the sink to their shop and the husband came out to get it. He said I have your granite in the shop getting it ready to cut it would you like to see it ? Yes I would and again I asked him will the veins be running together through every piece and we want be able to see the seams. He replied that the veins will be running together and I will not see a seam at all. At this point I was so excited and could not wait to see my new granite countertops. The work was to start on the Monday before Thanksgiving at 1100am. Well they were late again but he did call saying they were running late. They came in and started tearing out the old countertops and taking them outside. They were in and out every time with their shoes on and I have hard wood floors. Their internet site said they were suppose to cover my floor but they did not. As one worked in the kitchen the other worked in the bathroom. I did not stand over them as they worked. I would peek in every now and then to make sure everything was going ok. I walked in the kitchen one time and noticed that on one side of a seam the color did not even match it was a lot lighter than the other side. My husband came home about that time and I had him look and he noticed it to. The guy working on it said nothing could be done about it because it was already sealed on to the cabinet. Then after he finished sealing the seams you could still see them. They were bad not level. It just looked awfull. Then when he cut the hole for the soap dispenser he put it to close to the faucet. Now he had to cut another hole further away from the faucet. When he was trying to remount the dishwasher up top to a bracket he split my cabinet board and you could see the metal bracket hanging out halfway. I told him he could not leave that looking that way. He said he would side mount it. I left the room to get my husband and when I came back in he was doing something else. He told my husband that he would have to fix the dishwasher he didnt know how. We went to look at the bathroom and where you have your plug in outlets the bottoms of the outlet covers had been cut off to lay flush with the backsplash. Now who comes to do work in your house and cuts something of yours without asking you to make something of theirs fit. Isnt that what doing a template was for to take measurements and make sure everything fits the way it supposed to. And when you split a coustermers cabinet arnt you suppose to tell them before they see i And where they cut the holes for the kitchen faucet we could not get the faucet in because they did not smooth out the hole. My husband call the owners about these problems and ask if he could ride out to our house and look at the problems. And finally he came out. He said we could install a garbage disposal to take care of that extra hole. My husband told him that we dont have the money to pay an eletrican to do that nor do we want one. So the owner said he would buy garbage disposal cover to put over the hole it just want work. He told my husband how to fix the dishwasher and replace the split board. My husband and I both thought it was their responsibilitie to fix it and make it right seeing they were the one that messed it up to begin with or knock some off the bill so we could get someone in here to fix their mess. They had another employee come out to fix the bathroom outlets. He had to remove the backsplash and trim it down some so the outlets would fit. He also worked on the seams and they look a little better. He also tried to darken one side of the granite and you could tell a little difference that night but the next day it was like it never happened. We also had some cracks in the sink area he tried to fix. One crack looks real good. The outer one you could hardly tell anything. And where they had set their toolbox and cans we now have a deep gash and round can stains on our hardwood floors. I was very excited to be getting new granite countertops. That didn last long. Friends and family come in and look right at all the mistakes without us pointing out any. It is really imbaressing and at the same time it makes you mad because you pay your hard earned money for a company to do a job for you and they should make it right no matter what it takes. After all it their name and reputation that on the line. I guess thats why these days you need Angielist because your word and a hand shake doesnt mean anything anymore.
