    They are my babies’ doctors.  I won’t let anybody else do them. They love my pets.  They get kind of scared of my blue and gold macaw because she gets kind of kicky and wants to fight him but I understand that.  He’s had macaws before on his own and he knows how to handle birds.  They know how to handle my cat.  They even told me if I had a problem that I could bring my chickens up there.  If you have ever have a cat that gets hurt, like a feral cat, take it to them, they will take care of it.  I had a kitten that got hit, that tried to stop a car with his face.  I took it up there.  That man asked me do you want to save him.  I said yes sir.  He said well I am proud of you because most people would just go ahead and put it to sleep.  He worked his lunch hour and he operated on Frankie and he put his face back together.  That cat is living in my house right now.  I trust them anytime.  Frankie isn’t anything but a little white alley cat, he is no breed or whatever, he is just a little old white alley cat but he took the time to get that cat fixed right.

    They’re good. I didn’t have to sit out there long. When they got me in they had the veterinarian doctor come right in, looked at it, she made a diagnosis, got me some medicine and I was out of there in 30 to 45 minutes. They could have cooked me a steak!

    We've been going there for over 30 years. The price is very good. They are just great. A lot of times if I call for an emergency sometimes they double book. They are good. They talk with him and they are very gentle with him. We've known the Doctor for years and years and years. He knows our family. We know him. He talks to us and talks about his parents. He is very personable.

    She is wonderful. My dog is 10 years old. She is so gentle with him. She calls him Elvis cause when she gets around his mouth he does that lip curl thing. She does a great job. I would recommend her highly. The price is good. I wash and dry him I couldn't imaging having to clip him as well. He is so spoiled he would bite me. He lets her do it, but she knows what she is doing. He growled once when she was at her daughter's home. He does so much better in a professional looking place. It is a hard job. I can take him to her and have him back in 2-2.5 hours. She used to take him outside and let him walk around until I got there and then she would meet me at my car. They are very professional, and friendly. They do their job. They treat the animals with respect which is important to me.

    I do not have any complaints with them. Sometimes issue with standing in line and the other animals, but that's not an issue with the clinic. I would tell them to be prepared to stand in line or go early or go late. We have it down to a science that we go 15 minutes before they are about to close and most everyone has gotten there and we can get through. I have now gotten go earlier like in March so even though you have to stand in line it is not as bad. It is on the pavement and no shade. I would say their price is comparable if not cheaper. I had to wait once and it was for some justifiable reason but normally you do not wait on them.

    It was appalling.  My 75 pound dog was given a tiny little kennel that was indoor only.  I was told *as I was dropping him off and on my way to the airport* that they don't like to leave the dogs beds in those kennels because THERE'S NO ONE THERE FROM 6PM UNTIL 7 AM(!!!).  So the dogs in the indoor kennels, which are too small for them, have no place to relieve themselves for 13 hours.  No surprise, I guess, that when i picked up my dog, he smelled like pee.
    Also, I had brought his food for him -- 2 cans and 8 cups for four days.  When I picked him up, they return one full can to me and about 5 cups of his dry food.  I have no idea what or if he ate when he was there.
    On the up side, when I called to check on him during my trip, they were very responsive and said he was doing fine.  Nonetheless, I will never board my dog there again.  The "luxury suites" at $75+ per night may be a different story, but if you're looking for a place you can feel comfortable to take good care of your pet, keep looking.  This place was a horror show.

    They watched over 3 of my beloved pugs and I was confident if thier capabilities because of a referral from a friend who has used them for 15 years.

    Camp Bow Wow
    The good thing about Camp Bow Wow is that you can keep an eye on your pup with their cameras.  There is access for the dogs to go outside, but they are kept in a large area with dogs of similar size and nowhere to lay down or take a break. I thought it was a little pricey for the service. It's a little less expensive for day care only.

    On retrieving our felines on the morning of 09/29/2014, I attempted a discussion with Jeff about my displeasure with the events that had taken place. In my opinion, Chapin Pet Lodge, in their professional capacity, is the legal fiduciary for our animals, and as such, is legally responsible for their care, custody, and control. It is my opinion, and only my opinion, that if our friend had needed to remove our female cat, for whatever reason, then she possibly could have exited the premises with someone else's cat. Legally, in my opinion, the responsibility of knowing without doubt whose animal was whose rested solely with CPL.

    I mentioned to Jeff that he should have felt empathy for our situation. Just a note back that it was a mistake, and that all was well, was all that was needed. But he exploded in anger and claimed that over the past nine years of taking my pets to CPL, that somehow we never trusted him (we drive 60 miles round trip from Cayce to get to/from CPL). My wife suggested that we leave, as Jeff was shouting, and phone back later to further the discussion. But Jeff insisted he wanted to conclude the discussion at that moment, and strangely in front of one of his employees, rather that in his private office.

    So what started as my suggestion to Jeff that he should have taken our situation and distance away in consideration, and displayed some empathy for our situation, ended up with him angrily shouting over me. He finally stated that he didn't want my business any further, and he angrily punched at his computer, stating that he just eradicated our November reservation.

    In closing, let me state that this incident was the third incident where one of our cats was injured at CPL. Several years ago we returned from a five day stay at Myrtle Beach to find our female cat huddled on the screen porch. In my effort to get her into her carrier, I was bitten severely on my left hand not knowing that she was in extreme pain. After leaving her with CPL, she had managed to work her collar into her mouth while it was still around her neck in the back, similar to a horse's bridle. She was not able to eat, and her mouth was severely infected. Not one of CPL's staff checked her closely enough to notice this in the time that she was in their care. On another incident, our male cat sustained a medium size scrape on his neck and back, in my opinion due the door to the porch area not being raised up far enough for him to exit with scraping his back (a situation that I reported to the employee with me when I retrieved him).

    Needless to say, I would never entrust my cats to CPL's care ever again.
