Tile Installation reviews in Tega Cay

Chris and his staff did an excellent job laying the kitchen tile. The clean up and replacement of moldings were also excellent. Chris was there throughout the process. He really listens to his clients.

Wonderful! That's the bottom line up front. I purchased handmade tiles for a backsplash and hunted for an installer. Five interviews later I decided on Chris DeMeo and I'm glad I did. Chris knew how to install the tile (30 years of experience will do that). What I appreciated most was his knowlege on how best to seal/manage/live with the tile. He took care of everything start-to-finish. I only supplied the tile itself. I thought that moving an electrical outlet, to give the area a cleaner look, might be a good idea. Chris put me in touch with a certified electrician to help me decide. For the installation itself, Chris brought grout color samples for me to choose from; sealed the individual tiles (a must, he said, as they have a crackle finish and would be susceptible to staining when used in a cooking area); completed installation and put two more layers of sealant on for good measure. Work areas were kept clean; all tile cutting was done outside and there was not much waste of material. Downside to such efficiency is I'm now stuck with three unused boxes of Beautiful tiles! Overall, I couldn't be happier with the finished product by Tile By Chris.

Great! Chris was very professional and helpful through the process; demo - which we discovered an external leak we wouldnt have otherwise known about ; design - met us at the tile shop to help us pick tile, accent and grout; installation - recommending patterns/niche size and making sure we had no issues. Even cleaned and sealed grout in another of our bathrooms! Will definitely have him back for additional work in the future. Thanks Chris!

Chris was the only tile contractor to call me back. He showed up when he said he would and did the work in a timely manner. One of the neatest contractors I know- takes alot of care with drop cloths everywhere and cleans up every day before he leaves. He was super reasonable for quality work!

We needed to renovate our master bath. Sal and his men are true professionals. From demolition to the finished product everything went smoothly. He came promptly to give an estimate and made suggestions to help us decide where to purchase tile. A garden tub needed to be removed and the shower extended. New plumbing was needed along with new shower and floor tile. A frameless, doorless enclosure was added. A new vanity, linen cabinet and granite countertop were replaced, as were all hardware and lighting, Sal's tile work is creative and impeccable. It is simply beautiful. His team are superior craftsmen. The cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Sal and his team at Stonecraft .

Great. The owner, Ryan, was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and he knows his products. Besides the shower work he did I also had other natural stone in our home looked at by Ryan for suggestions on repair/maintenance. Ryan provided info and didn't try to sell work that wasn't needed. His honesty was appreciated. His price is competitive and he did quality work. Our shower looks like new.

    Nissi Home Renovations, LLC
Ron and Jane remodeled our kitchen, rocked our fireplace with stacked stone, master bath, and two other bathrooms. What we really liked was the personal attention and time Ron and Jane spent suggesting ideas and the patience they had in guiding our decision process. The quote was reasonable and the quality of work was second to none. Their attention to detail and desire to make every detail count is a tremendous character trait to have in a contractor. We highly recommend them and we will use them again for any future remodel needs

He did an exceptional job. He came to give us an estimate and informed us that the previous job was done incorrectly and that if he just re grouted we would have an issue later down the road. He then directed us to The Tile Shop to pick out new tile and within a week and half he was back to install the new tile. He was punctual, and professional and the end result is beautiful. Highly recommend Tile By Chris.

    Eager Beaver Handyman Service
I am writing a review for work that I had done over a year ago, which goes to show you how displeased I was with the disrespect of their owner Shane. Before I go on I do want to say that the actual workers that came out were very professional, courteous, and friendly. I had little issue with the quality of work, they were hard workers. However, there were many issues with scheduling and communication, some of which were caused by weather and many of which were not. All in all, there were many blips along the way that started with a forecasted rain event (which I understand) and were followed up by a lot of communication issues on the reschedules. I had difficulty interpreting all of the work order alerts in terms of what was still scheduled for certain days and what wasn't. Essentially there were still appts on my calendar that I had to reach out and try to figure out if they were postponed since nothing proactive was sent. I had to reach out to pry for answers, which were many times ignored or met with cold/short responses. I needed to know a schedule since my wife and I work full time and we do not have the luxury of being around all day so that workers can show up when it is convenient for them. We also have dogs that we need to make arrangements for when work is being done to the house and we do that as a courtesy to workers since they bark a lot and can be annoying. Aside from some of the scheduling issues, I had a MAJOR problem with the way the owner Shane handled situations and the comments he made towards me. He was very disrespectful and abrasive in many cases. I know this company has A ratings (which is why I chose them to begin with) but be very careful and look at the F ratings as well and they way he responds. It will tell you all you need to know about his style if you do run into unforeseen circumstances. He essentially marginalizes all bad reviews and combatively deflects blame back to the customer with minimal empathy. If you are the owner of a company you should never say these ignorant things to clients. There are clearly some issues, despite the A ratings, in need of improvement. I am sure most minor projects go off without a hitch and it isn't an issue, but everything does not always go smoothly. When I went back and read some of the bad reviews and the way he responded it made a lot more sense to me in terms of how I was treated. Due to the way I was treated throughout the process I emailed Shane in hopes of receiving some sort of discount before I had to make the final payment, but this is what he responded with in an email titled FYI after he already sent me another e-mail saying no discount as he felt it was all weather related (which does not exempt poor communication): I give money back all the time for things that go wrong that I could have prevented. But this is just not one of those cases. No offense, but your dogs are the only reason you had to come home early to accommodate the painter. I know you had expectations, but we all have to accept set backs. If my job was easy, everyone would be doing it. #1 Bad communication can be prevented. #2 I mean really, an owner of a company blaming his poor spontaneous scheduling practices on the client's dogs? Wow. Hope none of you have any dogs! This pertained to one day me receiving a call at work and asking if a painter could come by my house within 1 hour. Not to mention I tried days earlier to determine this with no response. Shane claimed only outdoor work had to be done, but that was false since some indoor trim work had to be done so the dogs had to be secured by me. #3 Do you like to be patronized when paying 3K? I dont. #4 Do you like dealing with egotistical owners that self promote how amazing they are at their jobs? Doubt it. And here was his next most telling response after I further detailed out all of the issues for his awareness: How about this. If the invoice isn't paid by Friday I'll take you to court. Enough said. (For the record, I never once threatened to not pay. In fact I stated I fully expect to pay in a prior email to him) Here were some of the other responses I received from Shane the owner throughout the process: "I was surprised to hear how you reacted to that" (in response to my disappointment around the lack of communication of leaving my house during a low probability rain event that day) "Let's call it a night please. I'll be in touch tomorrow" (in response to me trying to get confirmation on work being done so I could make plans - never head back till 4 days later). When there was a response 4 days later it was "Working on it as we speak. Please pay quickbooks in the meantime." (always very quick to communicate on pymts) Believe me when I say these were just the highlights there is much more boring detail further proving my point. All I will say is that it took me this long to do this review because of the overwhelming details involved and how terrible this experience was. It is single-handedly the worst customer experience I have EVER had. If I can stop one person from using this company and experiencing what I went through I will consider it a success. Please take caution in using this provider as there are many other hard working companies that pride themselves on communication and genuinely care and value your money/satisfaction. This company only cares about payment and treats you as another # especially now that they have built a good base of A ratings that they can throw in your face when your experience is not good.
