    Perez Landscape & Hardscape LLC
Outstanding experience! The home I purchased came with a sprinkler system, something Id never owned, but it had been neglected so I didnt bother to use it. However, even an unused system can cause problems, as the lowest sprinkler head on my lot leaked due to gravity and damage. In addition, I knew I had other damaged/missing heads, so I called Perez. He was able to come within a week of my first contact and arrived on schedule. He checked each zone, marking all heads and assessing those that needed repair/adjustment/replacement and gave me a quote that was in line with the lawn care franchises. When I agreed, he made a short trip for parts and set to work. When done, he checked the whole system zone by zone, adjusted each head for optimum performance, programmed the timer per my requirements, then finished with a thorough clean up. Total time was four hours and I have what works like a newly installed system. We discussed some of the things I wanted to do in my yard and I look forward to calling on Mr. Perez for seasonal landscape and maintenance needs as well as some hardscape we have been been considering.

Aaric's Irrigation, Lighting & Sod Works
I made a Big Deal purchase with them. It was really good. They did a great job. There was no extra charge. There was no extra service. They just fixed everything and that was all included in the price, so that worked out well. The price was great. They were professional. They came out and took care of the problems that I had. They completed the work in a good amount of time.

    Water Works
Poorly. Initial job performed in July 2015. Job completed in one day. Was told that pipe was unable to be buried entire 6 inches depth, as required per code. Reason was because of large underground rocks/boulders. Starting in June, began having multiple issues: 1) pipe burst downstream side of one of the valves in the backyard. Notified Water Works and repaired. 2) pipe showing in front yard (couldn't have been buried more than 1 inch deep). Notified Water Works and rerouted, digging only slightly deeper. 3) Pipe showing and connection to sprinkler head showing in 3 locations in middle "zone" in backyard. Again, couldn't have been buried more than an inch deep and simply covered with rocks. Notified Water Works. Only rerouted and buried 2 of the 3 locations. Main complaint is the fact that the work was performed at a subpar level for the full price without notification prior to completion of the job. I have a fence installed by another provider this year. When underground rock was encountered, contractor stopped work, called me, and we came to a mutual agreement about a solution, rather the contractor just continuing the job to get paid. Very unsatisfied with Water Works and do not recommend to anyone.

    Scott Turf and Landscape
We used Scott Turf for 5 years. For most of that time, we were really pleased with their service. They maintained our lawn and managed our irrigation system. When we moved into a new house we had about 1/2 an acre that needed complete landscaping and we wanted to change out some of the builder landscaping in the front. The bid was for $15000+ and we were under the impression that it included the front and the back yard. It was our fault that we didn't read the contract close enough and went on the verbal conversation that we had with Scott. We were out of town when they installed the landscaping. When we came back we were shocked that the front remained untouched.
That was in October. Fast forward to the spring of 2015 and we asked Scott for weeks to get our sprinkler system turned back on. We were losing plants right and left because they needed to be watered. I texted him 3-4 times, my husband called and emailed. Scott said he sent someone out to turn it on, but they didn't do the work. Then he had my husband out in the yard trying to figure out how to turn the system back on (my husband is not very handy so that didn't work) because Scott was in Charleston doing some hardscaping. Then he came out and turned in on about 4 weeks after we started this conversation. When my husband and I got home that night there was one head that was continuously watering a big tree. That side of our yard was a swamp because a valve got stuck open. We called Scott again and finally got the system resolved.
We asked him to check the landscaping because we had 4 dead bushes and 2 dead arborvitae. The 2 Japanese maples and 1 pink magnolia that he had planted had a lot of dead branches. And the rest of the plants were struggling in general. He told us that he would check them. When we inquired as to his thoughts he said that it was because of our harsh winter. He kept telling us that he would see about getting them replaced. The trees should have been under warranty based on what he originally told us.
We finally let Scott go. Long after we should have. We had a new landscaper come out and replace all of the dead bushes and trees to the tune of about $1500. He said that there was not very much dirt in the holes. We have red clay and you have to put quality soil in the holes where the plants are going or the roots cannot grow. The plants that this landscaper put in have thrived and the ones that Scott Turf put in all continue to struggle.
After such a long relationship with Scott, my husband and I were really disappointed that we got the dismissal from him over such an expensive job. He actually billed us for something after we fired him!!

    The Grounds Guys of Spartanburg
The Grounds Guys of Spartanburg installed a new walkway with a patio with new landscape beds and plants through my entire yard. They also, redesigned my existing irrigation system to accommodate the new landscape. Other companies wanted to install an entirely new system, I saved a lot of money with The Grounds Guys through their expertise and knowledge in the landscape industry. I would recommend them to anyone, my experience was great!!!

I have worked with them for over 3 years.  I have bid several jobs out and they always come back with the lowest cost and they guarantee their work.  I have never had any issues with them.  Always punctual and always does a great job.  On time, cleans up well (which is a huge plus as I have had contractors leave a mess behind after a job).  Always there when they say they will be and do exactly (if not more) than they promise to do.

    Water Works
Brian did an excellent job.  He answers his own phone, he kept me informed when rock deliveries and weather caused two delays, he kept me informed during the three days the job took, he contacted me when there was an opportunity to make design choices, he cherry-picked the best and biggest slabs of rock to do the job, and overall it was a great experience.
To start, I found him on Angie's list, saw his good reviews and checked out his website, which has lots of pics of jobs he's done.  I called him and a couple days later he came out to survey the site and discuss the job.  Then he had me go select the stone at the best rock yard in the area, and had me ask for his salesman Bill to show me the different kinds he normally uses, so the process wasn't so overwhelming.  As the job progressed, and it became clear that more rock was going to be needed, we worked it out to the satisfaction of both parties.  He cleaned up the site well at the end of the job.  As info, I bought the mondo grass myself at a local nursery ($400) because it was a much more expensive option than to grout with grass as he had originally quoted, and I wanted to make the change because of the reduced maintenance.  Brian installed it, as he would have done the grass.
Altogether a talented, flexible contractor, with integrity.  I would definitely hire him again.

    Water Works
It was a 2.5 - 3 day job that went off without a hitch.  They finished 2 days before the big rain storm and we watched the pump dispel the water from the backyard happily.  Brian is a very nice gentleman and easy to work with.  He also accepted the 10% discount coupon given here on Angie's list to new customers without any "conditions".

I called the owner a week before the fourth of July to inform him of this. He said he would be gone on the fourth, but to call him after that if it still wasn't growing by then. I waited like he asked, but the grass still was not growing, and the yard was starting to get muddy and really bad. I called him on July 6th and he said he would be out the very next day at 10:00 am. I waited until 11:30 for him to come before I called and left a message asking if he was still going to come. I waited at home until 1:30 hoping that he would call me back, but he never did. I still have not heard from him. I was going to mention to him that day that I was unhappy with the mulching job that his guys had done. They mulched right over our stepping stones, as well as the Terminix stakes in the grass. We now have to go through and find the stepping stones under the mulch and reposition them. I was not mad about any of this, until he ended up not showing up for the appointment. I was also going to ask him about doing another job that we have coming up in the fall, but now I will be finding someone else. His price was also a little higher than I wanted to pay, but he seemed like a good guy who knew what he was doing so I was willing to pay it. At the beginning of the job, he was fine and everything looked good. However, the aftermath of it has been terrible and I am upset that there has not been any follow through on his part.

    William Matheus Horticultural Services
Bill was very professional and explained what type of plants he would install and how he would install the irrigation system.
He was very responsive in returning any phone calls and I would recommend him for consideration, for anyone doing any landscape projects.
