    American Flooring, LC
The work was excellent. Rich and Scott were prompt and professional. We used both glass and ceramic subway tile and penny round tiles in the shower. We used a ceramic tile on the floors. Everything was installed beautifully with very little waste. Rich and Scott were respectful and careful about cleaning up at the end of each day. As a special note, both my husband and I felt very comfortable with both men in our home and although we made sure to be home during the process they did not require supervision or "hovering." We had several bids on the job and found American to be fairly priced. Total costs came in right at estimate--even with a bit of extras. I would highly recommend.

I remember they were professional.?That was all that I could remember. There is nothing for them to improve on. I technically didn't have the money at the time, and I was just starting to look at estimates and products. I really wasn't ready to follow up with it at that time. I think I would consider them in the future.?

I think I got the reference from Angie's List. We kept doing amended contracts; I kept coming up with something new to do. It is a long story and w2as was a series of battles. They lost more money than I paid them. They did about $50,000 worth of work and I paid them $29,000. They signed an open ended contract and they should have known better than to do that. Anything else the homeowner requires was in the contract and I required a whole lot. I mean, they did everything. These guys were pretty good, they just had some social skill problems. I told them everything I thought at the time. Their basic problem was they used an estimator who did not do the actual work. The estimation should have been a whole lot more so we ended up with them being in a real hurry at the end. They did not complete everything because they had underestimated the costs and did not tie down the project. They would come to work some days and some days they would not. They were responsive.

    Coppock Carpentry & Home Maintenance
Will did a phenomenal job helping us complete our kitchen renovations. He expanded the width of the cutout for our oven, removed the drawer space as it was needed for the oven, installed a new face to cover the spacing where the drawer was, built in new rails for the oven, and installed the oven. He also put in our tile backsplash for us. He cleaned up well, performed the jobs very quickly (faster than anticipated making our invoice lower than expected), and was friendly the whole time. Efficient, quality work is hard to find, but Coppock checked all the boxes without me having to give up an arm and a leg to afford the job.

    All Square LLC
Overall, the job was handled professionally with good attention to detail and quality.  The nature of the damage required that the entire project be scheduled over several months to provide adequate time for things to dry out and for new materials to acclimatize.  All Square worked with our schedule to minimize disruption.   The entire first floor of the house is hardwood, so finishing just the damaged area was not an option.  When the floors were finished/refinished, All Square provided a moving crew to pack and move all first floor furniture into our garage and then move it back again 10 days later.
All Square worked seamlessly with our insurance company.

We had contacted several contractors about our project but most were not interested.  Scott responded to our request quickly, scheduled an appointment and showed up as planned. This is a family business so he brought his wife along to provide her perspective and insights.  They provide documentation regarding insurance, bonding and the estimating process.  Within a few days we were given a detailed description of the work to be completed along with a cost estimate for labor and materials based on what we were wanting done.
The initial estimate was more we could afford so Scott worked with us to identify portions of the project that we could potentially do ourselves such as removal and disposal of the existing sheet rock, painting, flooring and installing door/window trim and baseboards.  This reduced the overall cost significantly and enabled us to proceed with the project.  It also provided a situation for some 'fun' time with some of our family and friends.
Since this is a family company, all of the work was complete by Scott and his sons.  They were very professional and considerate of us and our home and kept us informed of issues.  Yes there were some additional expenses that we encountered as a result of unforeseen conditions.  For example, we were unaware that the existing structure had a double sub-floor so there was an expense for added flooring material.  However, throughout the project, Scott approach was to always be economical while maintaining a high level of quality.  Felt like he was always looking out for us.  All work was completed in roughly 3 weeks.  Afterwards there were a couple of small issues but Scott always responded quickly and took care it with no questions.
One suggestion.  When describing your project, be sure to provide as much detail as possible and ask specific questions. This will help establish clear expectations and prevent any unsatisfactory results.  For example, we stated that we wanted additional windows in certain locations but did not define the size.  As a result, some of the windows that were installed are smaller than what we expected since they were trying to be as economical as possible.  Just a lesson learned.

Operation Drains Of The Upstate Inc
I used Operation Drains in August, 2014. (See my review). Their service was so good that I recently used them again. They are professional, prompt, knowledgeable about plumbing matters, courteous, encourage any questions you may have, etc. Once satisfied, I always return for service with a company who does an outstanding job as Operations Drains does. One can't go wrong with a local service whose reputation is built on the fantastic work they do. If I have a problem after the job completion, they are located in my community and easily accessible for any concerns I may have. They treat you like family. Please know that I am neither friends nor a relative of these folks (although that wouldn't be a bad option). Operations Drains will be my choice of plumbers anytime I need their services.

American Pro Siding & Roofing LLC

After previously hiring them for an exterior vinyl siding project that went very well, I decided to use them again for my home kitchen and bathroom remodel. They basically painted the entire interior, put in a new ceiling and redid our hallway upstairs. They put new drywall in two or three rooms. Some of the tape seams of our drywall are cracking at this time and we believe this is due to expansion. The project was major and took several months. The quality ranged anywhere from poor to excellent for different aspects of the project. There was also a shower head that leaked but they did come back and fix that as well. They stacked their materials and drywall on our hard oak floors so now we will have to have the floors refinished as this did cause extensive damage. Their excuse was that they were doing work in a home were they did not realize people still lived. The pluses were offset by the negatives. The estimator promised a myriad of things the crew would do from replacing hardwood door knobs to even more. The price of the estimate didn't compare to the much larger final cost. They did throw away all of the warranties for various items such as sinks, fans and faucets I had purchased from Lowes. It seemed that a major problem for their handling of the project was the manpower available or lack thereof. I would still use them for a much smaller project.

    Upstate Remodel
David designed and built a custom cabinet that looks like a piece of furniture. The cabinet has upscale carved areas and feet. He talked with me and designed the elements of the bath. The granite is black with iridescent pops of color. The custom millgrain work on the rounded sides of the cabinet is elegant and shows not only the quality of work but the attention to details most would not take extra time for. The floors are tile but look like a pickled plank floor. David's training and choice to use Ditra by Sluter products under the tile assures no problems with water damaged tiles down the road. Every element such as the faucet and toilet paper holder have been picked out and installed with an eye on the architectural detail of the faucet and the heavy duty but easy to change toilet paper holder. The cabinet is highlighted by a large beveled mirror framed in black. The cabinet, walls and door are cream with a pale lavender crown molding that makes the granite pop! The hardware is top of the line brushed silver chrome. David is more than worth the wait as the quality of his work has him booked in advance. Have patience and know your remodel will look better than the pictures in magazines. We look forward to the remodel of our master bath in a few weeks. Thanks Angie. We plan on having a long relationship with David.

The owner was awesome. He was professional and kept to his word with every promise. His employees were great. He followed up with phone calls and was very responsive. I cannot say enough about him and his quality of work. I have already recommended him to others. He went above and beyond for us.
