    Howard Masonry
Mr. Howard came to give an estimate very quickly. They started work within a week and finished in four days. The crew are not just trying to get the work done quickly, they are real craftsman! We couldn't be more pleased. Our new stone chimney enhances the exterior of our home so much! Will not hesitate to call them again or recommend them to our friends.

Falcone Crawl Space & Structural Repair
The Falcone crew was great from beginning to end. Bobby showed up on time to meet me to hear my concerns and give me an estimate. He explained what would be done and answered all my questions. He did not try to oversell me.
After initially scheduling the work, an unexpected issue came up that meant I had to reschedule. The office staff at Falcone was polite and helpful and got my job rescheduled for my convenience. The work crew showed up on time and called me each day (the job took 3 days) to let me know how the work was progressing. Before the job was done, they met me at the house, explained everything they did and allowed me to inspect the work before I paid them the final installment.
Unfortunately, not a week passed before we had another big rain and it became obvious that the drains originally installed were not sufficient to handle the amount of water. I emailed pictures of the situation to Falcone and they responded immediately. Within days someone was at the house (on Christmas Eve in fact) to put in some stop gap measures to get rid of the water.
The next week, the crew leader from the original job came back with his crew and completed the work. The underside of my house is now completely dry and I do not have to worry about taking a swim when I step off my back deck.
Some might say that Falcone does not deserve an A because they "did not get the job right the first time" but I disagree. I would be willing to bet that this crew never saw a situation quite like mine before and so it does not surprise me that they underestimated the amount of water that would accumulate. What is important to me is that they very quickly conceded the error and promptly corrected the mistake without further charge to me. Everyone at Falcone was at all times polite and professional.
I will admit to some sticker shock about the price. But when all is said and done it was totally worth it and the problem is corrected. I would highly recommend Falcone and would definitely use them again.

I can't say enough about the quality of Andrew's work in every category.  He is very prompt and courteous, very personable and does his work very quickly and efficiently.  If you need work done in your home or if you want to build a new home, ABW Construction is the one to employ.  Not only is Andrew a highly skilled carpenter, he's also a licensed electrician and plumber as well as a skilled mason.  I have great faith in his opinions and recommendations,  as well as trust in him as an individual.  I can certainly recommend him to everyone who wants high quality, reasonably priced work, either at home or at your business.  I will most definitely employ him in the future for and of my requirements.

This was a tough job, and I'm glad Clay and his team were the ones to do it. I bought this house a couple years ago, and I thought the front steps were just missing a step. Turns out the ground was so soft that the steps had sunk down into the ground.
I won't get all the details right, but Clay and his guys basically needed to dig all the way down to the foundation footing and build up from there to ensure that the steps will never sink again. They also connected the steps to the foundation to further secure them. In order to do all this, they had to tear out a bunch of sidewalk so they needed to do that over again as well.
Everything impressed me about this work. Clay made sure I understood what he was doing and why, and he lived up to every promise he made, in workmanship, price, and timing. He could have just added another step, but that wouldn't have lasted. He told me what really needed to be done and then completed the work perfectly. One of the things that was most impressive was how well the new steps matched the existing porch steps, Clay made several trips to the brick yard to make sure he matched colors as close as possible.

Andrew told us there would be a wait. When an opening occurred he contacted us and had the job done the next day. His work on this and earlier masonry and repair projects is excellent.  He found problems and fixed them.

    John's Workshop LLC
John was quick to come out and provide a quote to do both jobs.  We found his quote very reasonable so we accepted the estimate and discussed a start date.  John was upfront about the timing of these jobs as staining a deck in the winter is very difficult to do because the temps should be above 50 degrees overnight for several consecutive days as well as dry for consecutive days.  I had no problem with the expected timing/delays and was appreciative that he explained this and didn't want to rush just to get a job done.  For the first job, John completed the interior stone accent wall quickly in December and we have had nothing but compliments on this new addition.  As for the second job of staining the deck, that job was recently completed at the end of April but that was no fault of Johns.  As we know, the temperatures were lower this Winter and we received snow on several occasions making it basically impossible to start this job any sooner than he did.  Sure I would have loved for this to have been done sooner but the weather just didn't allow for that to happen.  John clearly understood the manufacturers specifications as to how the stain should be applied and he explained that rushing the job would sacrifice the quality of his work, something he didn't want to do and I didn't want him to do either.  In the end, it was wise to wait and the deck looks great.  I read some of the other reviews on here and all i can say is that i never had any communication issues with John (and there were a lot of emails and texts) and I felt he was very honest with me through the entire process.

Andrew is punctual, polite and does really good work. His prices are fair and he gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time. He cleans up after himself too. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others. So glad we joined Angie's list and found him!

    Howard Masonry
Clay is obviously very busy and seemed conscientious to me when we first met, but he failed badly in his follow up activity to let us know he did not want to do our project. I dont know if he lost our phone number or just didnt bother to call because he is so busy and didnt want to do our project.
I wouldnt use him again for any kind of work.

    John's Workshop LLC
Great recommendation by John  to use automatic opening/closing crawl space vents. Now I don't have to worry about closing or opening the vents since it closes automatically at 40 degrees and opens at 70 degrees. These vents and brick work look great. John even found water leaking into the crawl space from the below grade crawl space vent. This was causing the musty smell coming into my bathroom which I could not figure out. Now the problem has been eliminated thanks to John's expertise to brick up the 2 below grade vents. Great job. Thank you.
